I have a problem that before was working fine, I don't know if i disabled it or something. But my proximity key when i used to approach the car and press that small button on door handles would open my doors. Now that button don't work. I have a feeling i pressed something.

View 5 RepliesI went into my 2011 se this morning and noticed all 4 doors had water stains on the headliner in the exact same spots. Not sure how this happened and how it's all 4 doors in the exact same spot. Another weird thing is, I don't have a sunroof.

I have a 2013 Sonata GLS. Something I noticed (for the first time). If I leave the car unlocked and I stand in the proximity of the car, after about a minute or so, the lights will flash and lock the doors automatically (without me pushing the fob button). At first I thought the button was being pressed accidentally, but I proved myself wrong by taking the keys out my pocket and laying them on the garage workbench. Is this normal ?
View 10 RepliesI have a Hyundai Sonata 2011 all was fine until a couple days ago when I lock the doors using the remote I hear it click then in 20 minutes later the lights are blinking on and off. I use the remote to lock the doors again and the same thing happens. I replaced the battery in the remote , I also had the battery in the car checked. What could be triggering the lights to keep blinking ?

View 3 RepliesThe map lights in my 2011 Sonata GLS just started having a problem. They stay on when the switch is set to Door, even when all of the doors are closed. They'll turn off when I turn it to Off and on when I turn it to On. It just started the other day, and the only unusual thing that's happened recently is my brother used my car to jump start his dead battery.

View 16 RepliesMy 2013 is 9 months old and over time I've noticed whenever I lock my doors. My passenger side rear door does an extra click. Sounds like it's locking twice, an extra one after the original click.It's not a huge deal, I just hear it every time and I wonder if it could turn into an issue with locking etc.. Don't have a problem bringing it into the dealer for a look.

View 7 RepliesI am taking my 2012 Sonata Limited in this afternoon because while I was demonstrating the Valet feature of the trunk over the weekend, after I closed the trunk the manual key will not open it. I can insert the key into the lock, but when I try moving it right or left it does not budge.
I did not want to force it and chance breaking off the key in the lock, so I decided to take it in. Hopefully it will be covered by warranty.
I tried both manual keys and neither worked. I also tried the keys in the driver's door and glove-box and they both work fine.
I wonder how they will get into the trunk since the seat release is also in the trunk.
what do i do? i think some parts are lack of lubrication, but which product should i use and where should i spray?

View 17 RepliesI have been out of the country for the past 3 months and I left my car at my parents place. I have a 2011 Sonata SE with Nav. I got a call from my dad saying that my car is dead (battery) and the doors have locked. He previously was able to jump the car since he was able to open the doors with the key fob remote. Now the doors will not open. I assume the battery has died beyond where the key fob can open them. I return back home this week and would like to be able to deal with this headache before I return and come back to a working car. How to get into the car or at least popping the hood without being able to get in the car? I've read up about other cars having a backup battery or special mechanism on the door handle for these situations so I would think Hyundai thought this through...
View 35 RepliesWhen I press trunk release button on dash or the trunk button on key, I hear the mechanism but trunk will not pop open. I press the button and pull up on the trunk, it is still latched. The key will not go all the way in lock on trunk, I assume it is seized.
I have sprayed 3 in1 penetrate in lock mechanism. Key still will not go in far. I cannot get back seat down. I am wondering if something got caught in latch that is restricting movement.

I own a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS with 20k+ miles on it. Purchased it about a week ago & had no issues until about now. About an hour ago, my check engine light came on & air from the driver side right vent started blowing even though the fan is off. What the issue might be? Also, my fuel door constantly pops open by itself. While driving, when I close my doors, and when I close my trunk it always pops open. Is there any way to fix this type of issue?
View 2 RepliesThe first time I replaced a battery. It has run flawlessly until now. (Approx 57,000 miles) It is equipped with a push button start. FOB works fine to unlock doors, etc. I depressed the brake pedal and pushed the start button. Instrument panel lit up as normal, but there was no cranking. Nav comes on. Everything "looks" fine, but there is no engine activity.
I tried: I read a post where the person "rocked" the car back and forth several times and it ultimately started. Simple and immediate enough to try. No luck. A jump start. It didn't. Held start button for 30 seconds then attempted to start. No go. Did same with foot on brake.
Inserted FOB into the "smart key holder" inside the center console and attempted to start. Nada - Attempted this because for one brief second during jumping process, panel flashed a message saying FOB not recognized then went away. Car responds to FOB just fine).
Inserted FOB in center console again following the instructions in this post. Didn't work. The brake pedal is solid. I read this is most likely because vacuum pressure did not build when the engine did not run.
