On my 4WD selector, the small icon that shows the 4 wheels with 2 of them angled (the right most choice if turning the knob) is showing up in my info center on my 2004 Touareg. As well, all the lights on that 4WD selector know are blinking. I can't find anything about this in the manual.
View 1 RepliesI started my Treg this morning and let it warm up for several minutes. I noticed on the lcd right above the temperature I had a graphic of the low 4 wheel drive symbol. Also the lights on the control wheel (where you would put it into low 4 wheel) by the gear shift was blinking on and off. So I drove it for awhile and I knew I wasn't in low 4 wheel. I stopped and turned off the engine and turned it back on. It was normal. this has happened 3 times now. Only when starting cold. I would then turn it off then back on and the symbol and the blinking would stop.
View 14 RepliesMy friend has a 2005 Tdi touareg (WVGZZZ7LZ5D053023). The low range indicator in the instrument cluster keeps on popping, the low range and high range indicator in the center console near the gear shift lever keeps on blinking at the same time. Driving the touareg was really slow, and the low and high range still keeps on blinking. There is no MIL appearing on the instrument cluster but scanning with VAG COM reveals this fault code below. I tried erasing the fault code but it keeps on coming back after a few seconds.

Just recently my wife's 2001 Pontiac Aztek GT with 100K miles started the "Disco Lights" phenomenon (sp?). When driving or parked, the lights will start flashing, the horn may (or may not) honk by itself and the dashboard lights and indications blank!. The "Security" light in the driver's info center sometimes comes on also. I've read that it may need a new "Body Control Module". Could resetting the "Security" light stop this? If so, how do you do that?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to troubleshoot why my heater blower, cruise control and info center above my rear-view mirror has stopped working. I am trying to confirm power to an orange wire next to the driver-side fuse box. I have confirmed no power at the fuses. I am hoping the problem is the wire box below the fuse box and not the ignition switch. I have a wiring diagram and the power feed to these three fuses is via an Orange wire. There are two Orange wires in the box, I am trying to determine which one feeds the fuses for these three devices. I have a picture of the fuse box.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 F350 that has been throwing the "tire pressure monitor fault” on the dashes info center. Here is where it started. I purchased new wheels, tires and sensors a few weeks ago. I put them on and they were fine on the way home because I assume that the stock ones where still being read (they were in the bed of the truck). Put the old ones in the garage and then while driving to work the next morning I got the message. I tried to reset or “learn” the new sensors that night with no luck. There are two ways to get my truck into learn mode. One uses the hazard flashers then releasing some of the tire pressure until the truck horn beeps. The other method is a series of break pumps and turning the ignition from on to off then using the TPMS tool that apparently comes with the truck.
The truck went into learn mode every time with either method but it would never recognize the new sensors. After attempting everything on the sensors I checked to see if for some reason the trucks actual monitor was in a “fault” mode. Last night I tried relearning the old stock sensors with great luck. They all were recognized… for about 10 minutes. After getting them to work I left the shop I work at and on the way home the "tire pressure monitor fault” came back again. So just in case something had been in sleep mode when I did it I pulled over and reset them once more. Again with great luck… until this morning on the way to work again it went back to fault mode even with the stock wheels still in the bed.
Woke up this morning and found a red light blinking by my shift knob. It was the passenger air bag. There was a lock on it. How come its doing that? My car is turned off. Could there be a problem with my air bag or was it just a code?
View 3 RepliesGot a Decreased Power message across the dash info center today and was limited to only around 5lbs boost. I stopped and pulled the codes and here is what I found:
P054E - Fuel Quantity lower than expected
P1249
P1247
P0471 - Exhaust pressure sensor range/performance
P02D7 - Injector learning @ max
P0402 - EGR flow excessive detected
I dumped the trailer and limped home to change the fuel filters. I could only go 35mph on the flats and 10mph on any kind of up hill slope. I switched out the filters, purged the air, fired her up and cleared the codes, all seemed well. I backed out and went for a test lap around the neighborhood, as soon as I turned the corner and rolled on the throttle and reached 35 the message came back and the codes returned. I will be towing it in to the dealer tomorrow for diagnostics.
I bought a 2015 Camry LE, with manual AC.
I just noticed that every time I turn the temperature knob, there is a small buzz/hiss noise come from the center console. the more you turn the knob, the noise last longer, however, the sound disappear soon once you stop turning the knob.I tested this when the car is parked with power on but engine is not running, this noise is also noticeable in City drive if you audio is off.
I did some research and know that it is from the Heat blend door actuator/Air mix door motor. When you change the temperature, the motor is going to change the direction of the heat blend door.
My questions is : Is this noise noticeable on every Camry?
First the wife crushes the underbody on a huge rock cutting a corner. Now she spilled a whole pop down the shift lever, and its glued shut - it will hardly move. I know how to get the console off, but How do I take just the 'shift knob' off? I need to get the flexible piece underneath it off so we can wash all the parts.. I have the upper console part off.

I need to switch to another function in order to restore sound... ie, if it is on radio I need to switch to AUX. I have a video adapter installed, but it has always worked fine. This seemed to just start happening out of the blue.

View 5 RepliesI have a 2012 Pruis C II which has a smart key and I just noticed that the Theft Deterrent indicator, page 110 in the owner's manual, has started to blink whenever the power is off. I have not noticed this in the past 5 months. Could it be that I never noticed it before or it has just started to work or?
View 1 RepliesMonth ago the malfunction indicator turned on. On checking it was found that wires over the engine were eaten by rats. Reconnection of wires solved the problem.
Today the malfunction indicator light is blinking. Could it be the same wires going loose?
2012 Santy V6 GLS Stock 17"
Lately in an intermittent fashion my TPMS indicator light will blink when I first start the car. It goes away within a minute of driving (might even go away if I just idle but I am always in a rush so I don't know...). At first I thought perhaps it was the cold weather but it happens even on warm days. I've checked all the pressures all around and they are good (not even borderline).
In the manual it says a malfunction is when the light blinks and then stays on. What would blinking then non persistent light mean? Communication issues?
What does this mean? For the past few months my transmission has been really clunky and just un-smooth and now this. Is it broken?
View 12 RepliesJust cleaned out the oil seperator box on my 93 850, put new injector seals in and a new intake gasket. Start up the car ran rough for a little then idles like a champ. The problem-shift up indicator is blinking. Barely put my fut on the gas shifts up a gear then back down then back up, I think I unplugged something by accident.

This has happened twice, about a month apart. The air is generally plenty cold. Does this means the air is going out on my 2002 camry ?

Well today I was driving and the Malfunction Indicator Light on the dash came on and started blinking. When I stepped on the accelerator, the car felt like it had 1/4 the power and began shaking. The car idles kind of weakly, and feels like it has no power when you step on the gas. Also, when you step on the gas the car will shake. The strength of the shaking depends on how hard I press on the throttle, more throttle = more shaking. There is no shaking when it idles or when I have it cruising, only when accelerating.
