I have a 94 lincoln towncar and the air suspension is not turning on and I am dragging over the smallest bumps. I have checked the fuse on the main fuses but it is fine.
View 1 RepliesI have a 1997 Lincoln towncar with the air suspension. After parked for overnight I found the car sagging in the rear so I thought a air bag went out so I thought I would take it in to get fixed but the next few nights nothing happen the car stayed level then the next night it went down then the next few nights it stays level.
I took it to the dealer and they told me they see nothing wrong and kept it over night and it did not go down. It is like a roll of the dice if it stays level or goes down. I sprayed the air bags and the lines to them with soap water to see if I could find any leaks but I did not see anything.
The compressor is buried so unless I know that is the problem I am not going to rip everything apart to not find a leak or is that where I should be starting. If the car is running everything stays level and no light is on. I do not want coils in the car I like the air suspension.
I replaced the Air shocks with regular springs from a conversion kit I purchased on EBAY. The instructions to disable the "Check Air Suspension" light were included in the kit. I followed these instructions without success. I disconnected pin #11 from the wire harness under the dash, behind the glove box. I then telephones the company and was told to cut the black wire to the air compressor under the hood - below the air filter canister. How do I TURN OFF THIS LIGHT? I own a 1997 Lincoln Town Car signature.
View 14 RepliesI recently purchased a 2002 Lincoln Town Car with 204,000 miles but it runs like a champ. The Problem Is It burns too much gas i filled the tank up and2 days later I'm at a 1/4 tank without driving very much. My fuel economy states that i'm getting 8.5 miles a gallon this number goes up and down. I changed the oil and air filter still having the same problem. I need to know what I can Do to fix this I have heard the plugs and possibly the coils but I would like to know if there is more or perhaps something else I will be doing the work mostly myself.

View 5 RepliesOk I have a friend with this car and said it kept over heating. I went and looked at it and found the source of the leak. It's right after the heater core. The hose comes out and into the engine. Where the hose slides onto the engine has a leak . It looks like the piece can unscrew and be replaced but I don't know what it's called.

My running lights blinks and everything work perfect but when I press the brake nothing will light up I've checked all the fuses in the manual and all bulbs seem to be fine.

I messed with a few fuses wires and it started up fine. Drove today with no problem, parked and it won't start again... same as yesterday... turn key and all u get is a clicking sound from the inside sounds like under the glovebox in the dash...

View 2 RepliesMy 1997 Town Car has had the sound from the dash related to the blend door actuator in other posts. Noise would last for 5 - 10 minutes and go away. Today I noticed when driving I was getting a wild fluctuation in heat when set to automatic on the climate control so I decided to run the diagnostic to verify the blend door problem. I got code 024 so I know it is the actuator. My problem since I ran the diagnostic(exited by pushing defrost) the actuator noise is now constant and I have no heat, only cool air is blowing. Is there a reset I can do for the actuator? It's as if it is stuck in test mode.
View 8 RepliesI turn my car on. I have no error lights on my dash. The heater and AC control unit lights up. I press the down arrow on my in-dash heater/AC control unit so I can get some cold air. I hear a hissing sound for about 2 seconds, but no air comes through the vents.
I get the same effect when trying to use the heater. Quick hissing sound, no air through vents.
Both stopped pushing air at the same time (when my ac stopped working, I tried to put out heat just to check)
I have checked al the fuses under my steering wheel and in the engine compartment using a circuit tester (w/light).
There is an AC Clutch relay fuse in the engine fuse box. Not sure if I should check that.
It's to a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII. I love the thing and try to keep it running. Anyhow, I hooked a borrowed computer to it and it said that it was not reading the sensor. Yes, I checked all of the fuses. I also played hell getting a new (well, used) Anti-Lock Brake Sensor. Discontinued Motorcraft Part # BRAB81. No change in the problem.
View 8 RepliesSo I got a steering problem and it's got me going crazy. I have a 06 g35 sedan lowered about an 1.5 inches. It's been about 5 months since I lowered it, lately I've been herring clunking noise in front suspension, not all the time but only sometimes when I turn. The other day my steering got really stiff and when I turn the steering won't return to the center. My Power steering isn't making any noise and I'm good on fluid. A lot of people say my ball joints but don't they usually make a lot of noise when they go bad ?
View 18 RepliesNoticed the front suspension makes some "flexing" noises when turning the wheel during slow speed maneuvers? (e.g. during parallel parking). The best way I can describe it is it sounds like the suspension is being compressed as I turn the wheel as the car has almost come to a complete stop. (yes I know we should avoid turning the wheel when stationary). I realize it's probably normal. I'll just add it to the list of other noises my car likes to make. My car is bone stock btw.
View 2 RepliesMy wifes Passat wagon just got the 40k service and the dealer replaced the sway bar bushings in hopes of getting rid of some SQUEAKS that the car has made since we got it, it is lowered on h&r springs and bilstien shocks, however the sway bar bushings really didn't fix it, it seems to squeak when turning to the left and its definitely coming from the back.
View 7 RepliesJust did the rear brakes on my 05 EX. New rotors and pads. Now there is a squeal when going around a left turn. It is a constant squeal when going around a left turn, not a squeak-squeak-squeak. Sounds like it is coming from the left rear. Took it back apart to make sure I didnt miss anything and everything looks fine.

View 1 RepliesI have 2012 sentra with CVT transmission & 60,000 miles. I just got 60,000 miles service done. Service adviser called me to let me know that I need to have replaced upper strut bearing on the front (left & right) replaced because they are making clunking noise when turn wheels or parking. When I asked for the reason why they should go bed he told me that it's normal, some sand other debris could clog there or water could have damaged it.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 f350, crew cab,6.4L. with 27,173 miles. may have a problem with the steering, seems to be tight when turning from left to right or right to left, doesn't seem to center, if I turn a little to left or right it stays there. I can go in complete a circle. Raised front off ground turns ok no binding, nothing loose on the front end.
View 1 RepliesStarting having a problem with the front suspension on my 01 excursion. When you go over a incline I am getting a big bang in the front suspension also when you turn the steering wheel to the middle it has a jerk right before its in the straight position.
I have new wheel bearings and new locking hubs coming, this problem still happens without the hubs in. Could it be a front axle or U joint but it happens with the 4x4 disengaged.
