Last week during a cold spell in New Orleans the TPMS light went on in my 2010 Hyundai Accent. I checked all of the tires, 2 were slightly low and I added air. However, the light is still on and it has been several days.
View 3 RepliesI tried to reset my TPMS light using the procedure in the owner's manual after installing my snow tires on the OEM wheels. Now it looks like there is no effects as the lights will just keep blinking even if i am holding the button down. Does this mean the tire shop broke one of my sensor during the install?

Where to begin solving for this problem.
I have a bad sensor in a tire that just had a flat. I have ordered the sensor for the wheel and I am wondering after I install the sensor in the tire will the 'reader' pick it up and reset itself or do I need to go through the programming of the new sensor? At this time the TPMS warning light comes on and flashes for a minute or so before staying on constantly. This tells me it's trying to read the tire sensors but there is a fault, which is the tire sensor where I just had the flat. Costco tells me that sensor reads 78psi, which is incorrect. The fact that the reader is trying to read all the sensors and getting an error makes me think that it might reset itself when the new sensor transmitter is put in the tire? Any chance of this resetting itself or will I need to reprogram the receiver unit?
View 12 RepliesA few months ago my TPMS light on my 2012 C2 came on. I adjusted tire pressures and it soon went off again. A week ago it came back on. Again I adjusted pressures, but this time the light is staying on. I rechecked the pressures and all looks good. I tried the reset procedure in the manual to no avail. So what now? Just live with the light being on all the time?

View 24 RepliesLast week I had new tires installed on my 18" Samarkands and the TPMS light has been on since. I've verified that all four corners have the metal TPMS sensors in place and the tires are at 40psi, spare is 38psi. I have driven over 100 miles since the tire change. In past the light would come on when pressure below 36psi, and would turn off when tires inflated.
Have this problem after a tire change? Are the sensors easily damaged? Discount Tire/America's Tire Store said to bring the car back so they could take a look, but first wanted to get Vortex input.
I just got new tires installed on Saturday. I drove home about 3 miles with no problems. I then started driving this morning and when I got on the highway (70+ mph) the TPMS light came on. I pulled over and all of the tires looked fine. I tried resetting the button but it immediately came back on. I then had to drive about 20 miles round trip down to the 1st exit and back home. I attempted to go to the tire installer but they were closed. I checked the tire pressure next door at a gas station and all the tires had 38-40 psi.
Two things of note. The passenger side tires stem caps did not screw on tight, instead they would just keep spinning. I don't think tight caps could have caused this though. Secondly the tires were replaced because they had very little tread left and I hit numerous pot holes one night causing a flat in one and a bubble in another. Why this would happen. I would think a bent rim could cause the air to leak but the pressures where perfect all around.
Had my winter tires put on today and the tpms warning light came on. Tire pressure is ok. Never had this issue before with these tires/wheels. This would be the third winter with them. Is there a way to reset the warning light on a 2010? I have read about doing this on later models but nothing on the 2010. I do not have vagcom tools. Hoping I do not have to take to dealer.
View 4 RepliesYesterday, I swapped my OEM 18" setup for new 17" winter wheels and tires (set at 37.5 PSI at 55 F)). Today I drove 30 miles and then my TPMS light came on (Temp=36F). Pulled over, checked pressure - all tires at 36.5 PSI.
View 6 RepliesI have 2008 Hyundai Sonata. The TPMS light has been on for months. Not the little round tire low light...this is the actual letters TPMS. I have had issues in the past with the low pressure light coming on with weather temp changes which were quickly remedied by putting air in the tires. After several new tire purchases the low level light would come on when I left the store and as I drove out and drove a little while they would go off and stay off. I have had tire centers break the sensors and have to replace them. After the last one they reset the sensor, however some time later the TPMS letters came on and will not go off. No one can seem to fix it permanently. The Hyundai dealer service center tells me it's a tire center problem.
View 1 RepliesI recently had new tires installed on my 2008 Prius and after the tires were installed she drove better than ever and I drove about 150 miles across Florida with no issues what so ever. But when I went for a drive this evening, after about 30 minutes of driving my TPMS light blinked for about a minute then stayed solid for about 3 minutes but then went out. When I got out of the car all the tires looked okay, I didn't have a gauge on me and I will check the pressures tomorrow.

View 18 RepliesIt happened randomly on the way home from work, the car chugged along with the check engine light flashing at me and then staying on. I was able to limp it home and got a ride to the nearest auto parts store to get some new plugs. I went with the NGK brand. Well, $60 later (including tools on the spot) and it's still running rough.
I know best case it to try and limp it to the autoparts store to let them try and pull the codes. I noticed an old thread where updates were made to the software to correct a running issue. I will note this same chugging randomly happened at 50,000 miles. I shut the car off, let it sit for a moment, restarted and it ran just fine. The engine vibrates noticeably just like it did at 50,000.
2009 Accent running rough 73,000 miles....
There is this incessant squealing and grinding coming from my brakes. I have taken my 2010 Hyundai Accent to FOUR different mechanics and none of them have been able to figure out what is wrong with my brakes. I have replaced all of them and each mechanic has cleaned and adjusted them. But THREE days after, every time without fail, it is back as bad as it was before. It is only the rear right brake drum that is doing it still and I have no clue what to do. Something is definitely wrong with this car.
View 3 Replies'02 Hyundai Accent, 165K miles... My route to work is six miles of secondary roads and city streets (25-40 mph), followed by 16 miles of interstate highway (65-70 mph), then another nine miles of secondary roads and city streets.
I have noticed only recently (last couple of weeks) that when I get to the end of the interstate leg in either direction, as I wait for the light at the end of the ramp, my oil light will flicker (sometimes very faintly) if I leave my foot on the clutch. If I get into neutral and release the clutch, the light stays off. It will do that at two more stops in rapid succession, but by the time I am at the last traffic light or stop sign of the trip, it has stopped flickering regardless whether the clutch is in or out.
Oil is recently changed and at proper level.
I just bought a 2008 Hyundai Accent about 2 weeks ago. It has 65,000 miles on it. One week after purchase the check engine light came on. The dealership looked at it and said it was just a leak from the gas cap. So I purchased a new gas cap and the light is still on. I had the guys at AutoZone hook it up to their computer and they said the same thing. They also said that if the light is still on after putting on a new gas cap it could be the fuel injector or a vacuum leak. It has been less than 30 days that I have had this car. What is my next step here?
