The intermittent feature on my windshield wipers has stopped working. I replaced the multi-switch and it still does not work. What I can do to get this feature working again?
View 2 RepliesWhat is wrong with my 2006 VW Jetta. The windshield wipers quit working all of a sudden. I stopped to get gas and turned off the wipers( it was raining), got gas and went to turn on the wipers, they are not working. I don't even hear the motor run. When I was trying to research online, one of the solutions I came across was spraying WD-40 on the motor to dry up the water and try to fix the problem.here are my questions. 1. does this work? 2. do I need a new motor? 3. If I decide to spray WD-40, do I need to take the wiper arms and the plastic guard on the front to access the motor or can I spray through the grill on the plastic cover?
View 1 RepliesI have a '06 Jeep wrangler, it has an interesting problem, It starts every morning, (10 days now) but won't start again in the afternoon, evening,I have validated the battery, the connections, put in a new starter relay, and a new starter for kicks, and nothing in the afternoon, What could be so temp sensitive that would make this happen?
View 11 RepliesRecently had a problem with my automatic jeep wrangler where it stopped shifting out of park and drive etc.. the lever would just slide between the different options freely and I wouldn't hear any sort of click. I eventually found that this was because a piece under my car had broken (Some sort of mechanism that pulled another piece when you shifted). Currently I've been fixing this problem by taping the two pieces together, but that never holds for too long and I've been wondering if it would be possible to just gorilla glue (or any glue for that matter) the two pieces together for a more permanent fix? Or am I honestly just stuck coughing up the dough to replace the broken part?
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to figure out what could be the reason why I have Intermittent wiper operation on this truck. It's a 99 Chevy 1500 4.8 4X4. It's almost like the wipers have a mind of their own. Sometimes working properly but most often not operating when needed the most. Is this one of the set-ups that has a pc board with a bad/cold solder connection? I'm sure that one of the regulars here has come across this at some time or another and found it to be a simple fix.
View 3 RepliesWe have a 97 Jeep Wrangler that I have serviced regularly since I purchased new. It only has 97,000 miles since my wife and children drove it locally. During winter, the Jeep drives fine. As the weather warms up and especially when using the air conditioning system, the engine heats up within 10 to 15 minutes of driving. Once, when my daughter was driving in warm Spring weather, the Jeep engine seized up on a highway. We had it towed and the dealership flushed the coolant and it drove OK for a few days. We have noticed that the coolant is burning up in Spring and Summer needing replenishment frequently. We also had the thermostat, water pump, belts, and hoses replaced. The overheating problem (needle moves to red zone) still persists in Spring and Summer. If we switch off the A/C, the vehicle drives OK for about a 1/2 hour but Atlanta summer can be brutal without A/C.
Except for this issue, the vehicle is well maintained and in fact every time I get the oil changed, the mechanics ask if I would sell the vehicle as it is in such great shape.
I own a 1992 Jeep Wrangler that I'm currently trying to fix up. A major problem is that my the gauges and lights on my dashboard don't work correctly. My MPH and RPM gauges work fine, but my gas gauge and the three gauges next to it don't. they just sit at about a 1/4 full. Also the lights on my dashboard don't turn on when my headlights are on. So like when I'm driving at night with my headlights on my dashboard is pitch black. The lights have come on randomly before, but then don't work again the next time i drive with my headlights.
View 1 RepliesI have a 97 Wrangler 4 liter that lurches violently. It runs fine until the engine is warmed up. After the engine warms up it it begins lurching. When I put the clutch in, the lurching stops. When I let the clutch out, it is okay for 1-2 seconds (i can get power and advance the vehicle), then I put the clutch in and repeat that process. When I give it a little gas with the clutch in, the engine runs smooth - so it doesn't appear to be a gas problem. When I give it gas with the clutch out it lurches violently.
After pulling it into my garage I let it idle to about 5 minutes. It idles rough and is about to stall, when it apparently shoots a little more gas preventing it from stalling.The check engine light has come on. I took it to my local mechanic who cannot find the problem. The "computer code" indicates a faulty oxygen sensor. He also checked the fuel pressure which is okay.It has 120K miles and otherwise has been a great vehicle. It has been well maintained.
At times my windshield wipers stall halfway up my windshield or move really slowly. Other times absolutely fine, I already checked both battery terminals and niether were the issue. What's the best way to get to the wiper motor to check the connections. Or does it sound like a ground strap issue elsewhere on the car.

One day both of these features stopped working. Everything else seems to be working just fine.
I drive a 2002 Opel Corsa and am completely clueless when it comes to anything beyond changing oil and tires...
My windshield wipers have suddenly begun to stop their movement in the top position instead of at the bottom, thereby getting in the way of driving. The wiping function still works perfectly, so it doesn't seem to be a motor issue. The wipers just stop in the wrong position when turned off.
I happened to be at the garage for something else, and the guy there said that he would just have to replace the motor, but to try to to find a used part somewhere so that it wouldn't cost a lot. I think it seems silly to replace the motor for something that seems simple.
How to reset the default of the wipers? Is there a way to just remove the blades and change the position or something?
I have a 2007 Toyota Camry. The wiper arm on the driver side is not moving while the one on the passenger side is working fine. I thought the wipers went bad and changed to new ones but the problem is still there. Is there something wrong with a motor?

The passenger side is working fine, but that was not working for me at the time. What could have caused this issue?
View 4 RepliesI have no windshield wipers. Since i bought the truck ive fixed other issues but cannot figure out the issue with the wipers. Tested for power not sure if it's accurate but seems like there is power to the harness to the motor but not 100% positive.... Can it be the switch? Blinkers and rest on same switch still work but no ww. I also dont hear clicking from a solenoid like ive read on some research.. Fuses are all good pulled everyone out since they arent labeled with numbers next to them...im at such a stand still and cant drive the truck was screwed the other day when we got sun showers for nor reason and i was on a major highway.
View 6 RepliesOkay, to start i've disconnected my rain sensor so i do not have auto wipers, instead the wipers are intermittent when in the first, AUTO, position. with that being said....
When I was driving and had the LOW wiper position selected (not AUTO) and the wiper speed dial set to (-) , when the car comes to a stop or is parked, the LOW wipers switch to intermittent where they will pause in the (-) dial setting, for about 2.5 seconds. if the dial is set to (+) you do not notice this happening as the wipers re-engage too quickly. and then once you start moving again, the wipers return to the LOW setting and run continuously.
Does it also happen when your rain sensor still works? My guess is it's a luxury function so when you are nto moving, less rain hits the water, and you don't have to deal with wipers on a drier windshield making the low squeegee noise.
I'm working on a 2003 that the front wiper and sprayer quit working on. The rear wiper and sprayer still work fine. We replaced the multifunction switch and no change. I would like to test the motor before we keep throwing parts at it.
View 5 Replies6.7L ... Just traded in my F250 on a 2011 F350 Lariat. Love it. Period. Except that my windshield wiper sprayers will not work. I don't hear anything when I hit the button. No click or motor running. I can't figure out what fuse it is because I don't have an owners manual.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2004 Kia Sedona. The clock on the overhead console and the wiper fluid pump are both working only intermittently and they alternate working. In other words, when one works the other does not. My mechanic has checked it and has not found anything obvious.

View 3 RepliesThe rear wiper on one of my two 2004 Santa Fe has stopped working. Checked that the fuses are OK.
Then I swapped the wiper motor and then the control unit to the other Santa Fe & both work in it so are OK.
What else could be causing the problem?
Our rain sensing wiper has been working flawlessly since new. However, it decided to stop working two days ago. It just goes constant speed now.
