I have joint pain and my doctor prescribed me Cataflam. I know that Cataflam is strong medicine and I am not sure should I take it. I want to know more, also, about Cataflam side effects. My friend told me that Cataflam is strong and dangerous medicine. Is she right?
View 1 RepliesHave anyone have these problems while on it are as the meds was increased.I have been taking it for two and a half year.Since my sister die from breast cancer.I started at 25mg it didn't work so they up it to 50mg it work for a few months then they up it to100.That work for about a year then that went up to 150. But between all that I have had bad headaches, sweats, chills, joint pains, confusions, filling lost, getting turned around and not remembering what I was doing are were I was going. Gaining .Lbs not eat then wanting to eat everything,can't sleep,then can't wake up at times zoning out.itching,yawing feeling like you're losing your mind. BUT THE WORST is the dr's is telling you it's not the meds and your family even though you know they have you and is therefore is starting to look at you like your losing it.

I have experienced the tickly cough, but not often so that's ok, the one problem I'm worried by is joint pain.
I went from 5mg to 7.5mg to 10mg it has been whilst I have been on this higher dose that my arm joint to my shoulder have started to hurt, with sometimes sharp pain, also a sharp pain in the base of my index finger but again very occasionally.
I worry that if I go and talk to my doctor he may try and treat the joint pain with yet another drug which itself might have side effects, and the spiral then goes on into old age.
I am only 51 and will continue to take the medication but will monitor my problems and eventually have a chat with my GP.
Hi everyone! I know that kidney stones are terribly painful and that there are various unpleasant treatments to get rid them. In other words, kidney stones are not something you would aim to acquire :-). But, my question is, other pain, what are the consequences of kidney stones? Are there any side effects?
View 2 RepliesHi my name is Michele and i am wondering if there is anyone out there who has suffered as much as my grandmother...she has been in really bad shape here is what happened..My grandma was prescribed omeprazole back in July of 2008 for acid reflux...She seemed to be doing fine until the first part of december when she was getting muscle spasms so bad she could hardly walk and is still dealing with the muscle pain, pain in the middle of her chest and her right shoulder so bad that she has to stop what she is doing to catch her breath, this chest pain also came with a rash that was very itchy and dry between the breasts, she couldn't figure out what to do until it dawned on her that it must be these pills...she stopped taking them the beginning of december and is slowly getting better but is getting frustrated with the pain that she is still enduring...is there anyone who has hope for her who has taken this medication who had the same symptoms as her..we do not know what to do to make it easier!!
View 1 RepliesWould like to ask about anybody's experiences of side effects of Atorvastatin (as oppose to Simvastatin) I think the latter is mostly prescribed because of it's low cost - the one I am on is rather more "up-market" and I particularly requested to change from Simvastatin, and was "lucky" because it is far more expensive and considered the better drug of the two. However, like so many of your experiences on this forum - I can relate to almost all of them. I am breathless to the extent where I have to sit on a kitchen stool to carve a joint or dish up a meal I have leg pains, back pains and every other B***** pain!
I also suffer with anxiety disorder which the side effects of statins do nothing for that!
Please let me know if any other patients have problems with these ghastly drugs - I have stopped mine now and will tell the Doc when I go next week! I have missed about a week's worth of pills, but have not yet noticed any difference! Does anybody know how long it takes for the drug to leave your system?
I have a question about possible side effects of allergy shots. I got 4 shots so far (shot per week). On the first 3 there were no side effects besides feeling a bit tired on the evening of the shot probably due to the antihistamines medication that i am taking before receiving the shot, but in the morning after getting my 4th shot I woke up with very strong pain in the heart area (this is roughly 16 hours after the receiving the shot), the pain slowly went away in the course of several hours. I went to a doctor and did echocardiogram on the same day which was OK. I am not in a stressed period or did anything special during the week.
I am 36 years old, healthy, exercise regularly and have no heart troubles.
My question is if this heart pain can be related to the allergy shots or it is just a coincidence ?
Took Binosto (similar to Fosamax) for a few months beginning this past December. Was feeling well at that time. Since then, began experiencing terrible lower back pain, gas, lower left ab pain and have had a cough for a few weeks. I think that sums it up. Went to my doctor and told her everything. She checked me out. We decided to stop the Binosto thinking it could be causing these symptoms (don't know about the cough, though). She said to give it two weeks to get out of my system. It's been two weeks now and I still feel like crap! Could it take longer than two weeks to feel better? Maybe a month? Two? Do you think it could be the Binosto? I was feeling fine before starting it!

I have been into long distance running since long. Lately I started suffering from severe heel pain for which I had an MRI which says:
1. Minimal joint effusion is seen tibiotalar joint anterior and posterior recesses.
2. Soft tissue edema is seen in kager fat and anterior of ankle.
3. Minimal insignificant fluid in subtalar joint and intertarsal joints.
Its been two months I have not been running and I am feeling equal pain all the time. Pressing heel by thumb gives me worst pain. I can't move barefoot anymore. Orthotics insoles provide relief.
I have been dipping my legs in ice water and not running since 2 months but no relief at all.
I am 31 year old male, 5'11" and 78 kg.
My daughter has very big problem. She is 23 years old and she has Endometriosis. This is very painful for her, but her gynecologist told her that is early stadium and that this problem is not yet in faze for surgery. He told her to take Aspirin and Ibuprofen if she has big pains. She has terrible pains since yesterday and I am wondering should she, maybe, take Cataflam.

View 2 RepliesI'm a 17 year old female and I'm hoping somebody can help me out. I've been sick and out of school for over a month now. It all started with severe back as chest pains that were diagnosed as pleurisy. We later found out that I did not have pleurisy though. Through a series of blood tests my ANA came back very positive (I took it twice just to be sure, 2 weeks apart from each other) so my doctors were looking at lupus. Those were my only symptoms at the time though. Starting this past Sunday I've been having joint pains particularly in my wrists up my forearms to my elbows and in my hands. When I move my wrists they keep popping too which is strange to me. I'm always exhausted now which is so unlike me. I play lacrosse and am an in shape teenager but everything seems to be spiraling downward for me.

I mean, Amitriptyline is antidepressant. So, my doctor must be wrong, right? I have not depression! Should I change my doctor?
View 1 RepliesI am a 47 year old male (right weight for height) and reasonably fit running three times a week who has recently had to visit the doctor (first time in years) for severe neck pain caused by strenuous gardening work -so called leisure.
However my blood pressure was checked over the past few weeks and has found to be continuously very high ranging 190/115 to 150/90. My GP has decided to put me on ramipril starting with 2.5mg increasing to 5 mg and then 10mg over six weeks. On reading the comments about side effects I am really concerned which has now possibly increased my blood pressure further - really concerned on what to do, should I get a second opinion through my private medical before starting this treatment?
I'm looking to start orlistat this week but after reading over everyone's experiences I'm a bit nervous to start. Are the side effects really that bad as I don't want to make a fool out of myself at work!

View 4 Replies I used the tablets for 5 months and a bit, should be taking it for 6 months but i decide to give into not taking them due to really bad side effects.
When i started, i took 2 TWICE a day for 4 months but, rashes appeared on my cheeks, completely red and skin dried also on my nose. I couldn't bear the suffering, i applied creams like E45 (made things worse for me) then i switched to sudocrem, applying it to my face where the rashes were. this seemed to help stop the rash from getting any worse. I went to see the doctor who said i should cut down on the tabs to 1 Twice a day so i finally started to heal from the rashes. I carried on using the tabs this way until the rashes appeared on my nose again, it was really bad.
To those who suffer from Eczema, be warned as this course may effect it, making it really bad. This is the reason why i have to quit from this 6 month course (am finishing on 5 and a bit months) As for acne, it helped clear it up nicely even old scars until a point where my skin could heal no further ( i stayed the same after the 3rd month) so hopefully, changes are permanent and my side effects will go away from stopping this course.
Put on this drug for HBP 2.5mg then 5 mgs had various problematic side effects went to doctor to advise him of my problems with this drug. He then increased the dosage to 10 mgs which I have taken now for 2 months and the problems have multiplied to a point when I have become so ill with all the problems highlighted in these messages that I stopped taking the drug and started to feel better within 3 days. I wonder now what the reaction will be from my GP when I tell him that I want to try an alternative drug. Having high blood pressure I could do without worrying about his comments which other people have endured when they have asked to have an alternative drug.
