Citalopram :: Week 8 , Still On 10 Mg Citalopram - No Motivation

I gave up my job because I was so stressed and such an emotional wreck. I 've gone back to uni to do another course, I have tasks to complete and I just don't feel motivated to do anything at all. I m doing work experience and I don't care anymore. I m On list to see therapist at the end of month. I'm usually active  person and maybe  it's the anxiety that kept me going but all I do now Is not to do anything at all I lay about  and sleep I postpone everything I need to do is this normal? I have no energy or drive, has anyone else experienced this?

Citalopram :: 20mg To 40mg Citalopram?

I have had a really tough year, and was prescribed citalopram 12 weeks ago, started on 10mg for 2 weeks then 20mg ever since. I haven't been feeling any better, I have been going through a break up so its hard to know what's heartbreak and what's depression but the only thing that's seemed to be improving is anxiety which was taking over my life.

I still wake up most days not wanting to move, feeling hopeless and like I don't want to be here (I wouldn't physically hurt myself) and non stop crying and fear of the future and low self esteem. I used to be so confident and outgoing and happy, my world has crashed in the last year and recently I spoke to my doctor who has raised the dose to 40mg which I have now been taking for 3 days. I feel absolutely worse and again not sure if it's circumstantial. I feel embarrassed In Front of my friends and family as one minute I'll be crying and struggling to breath having a panic attack and the next I'll be laughing and smiling. Has anyone else suffered in the same way? I am hoping that this dosage is what I need but I'm just having teething problems. Right now though I feel very scared and worried it's not going to do the trick if I feel like this.

Switching Between Microgynon And Cerazette

So basically I was on microgynon for about 3 years before switching to cerazette as I told the doctors I had headaches from microgynon as I didn't want to have periods anymore (stupid I know). So now I have been on cerazette for about 6 months my bleeding is extremely light however can come at any time. Sometimes for weeks of light bleeding. I now want to swap back to microgynon as I am going on holiday in November and want to ensure I am not bleeding whilst I am there. I am worried that If I switch back I could potentially bleed for a long period of time. My doctor told me to double up on cerazette but I have had other symptoms such as vaginal dryness which is affecting my sex life. If I switch back to microgynon will I bleed for ages or will it just be for a week, I never had problems with this pills before.

Cerazette - Sore And Have Spotting

Been on cerazette for nearly 4 weeks. Read so many bad stories about it, but so far has been great. No bleeding, no mood swings, just some sore breasts....but that's nothing new!

Had sex for first time last night since being on it, with husband. Had slight spotting after (very slight....pinkish dot on toilet roll for a couple of times). Today I'm very sore, especially when wiping after a wee!

I've got my smear booked tomorrow, am a few months late with it because my dad died recently and just haven't felt up to it. But all previous smears have been fine, no problems.

I'm now scaring myself silly that I've got the Big C. But the logical part of me says this must be the pill that has caused this as I've never had problems before. I know it can cause dryness (and then obviously make me sore) so assume this is what's wrong.

Horrific Stories Of Ladies Being On Cerazette

I went straight into it so I went from one pill, to another without a break for a period as my doctor suggested and I am 10 days into cerazette and have been bleeding for 8 of these days, I'm very worried as I have read up on it and all I've heard is horrific stories of ladies being on cerazette.

I've now completely convinced myself I'm going to bleed for the rest of my life ( can anyone give me some reassurance on this pill at all? (

Cerazette - Women Have Gotten Pregnant On This Pill

I started Cerazette about 6 months ago as I'm in my late thirties and my periods were becoming more painful, plus, condoms were started to irritate me. since starting it I had one tiny bleed and that's it, it's a revelation but I am constantly worried that I'm pregnant as it's odd not having periods and I have read that women have got pregnant on this pill, I have always taken it correctly. I may be being silly but if I'm not getting periods does that mean that I am not ovulating either, hence, would not be able to get pregnant and if I was accidentally to get pregnant on the pill then would i still be able to use a pregnancy test whilst still on the pill, i.e. would it show up? I'm just paranoid that after my Husband and I have had sex that a week later I take a test!!! Any ones views on this would really put my mind at rest as I'm considering coming off it just to get a period even though I don't want one!!!

Birth Control :: Is The Cerazette Really Worth It?

Just want to inform people of my experience taking the Cerazette pill.

I had happily been taking the Microgynon for a few years when I forgot to get my prescription one month and ended up not going back on it. I went to the doctor as I felt so much better for coming off the Microgynon, I had lost weight and just felt happier within myself.

I saw the doctor and spoke about all my options, I am dead set against the implant and the injection, I thought I'd prefer to go on a pill again.. I was prescribed the Cerazette and thought nothing more about it.

I went to see the doctor about an on-going knee complaint, a few days prior to my appointment I noticed I had a lump to my left shin, I showed the nurse the lump, she reassured me it was nothing and it would go away. I wasn't 100% convinced.

Around two weeks later, my knee still being sore, the lump had only got bigger and I now had a swollen ankle, I went back to see a doctor, I saw a locum doctor who was concerned about the lump on my leg and queried "?osteosarcoma". I asked the doctor at the time if my swollen ankle could have been caused by the pill but she said no, it would be "lateral". The next day I went for an urgent x ray on my shin, the lump was painful. I waited four days for my results and went back to the doctor, this time I saw a different Locum doctor- My results showed no signs of a sarcoma, that day I was sent for blood tests and an urgent ultrasound was requested.. In the meantime, I found a second lump on my other leg, just under my knee, it was also painful. Five days later, my blood results came back and I was hopeful to get answers about my ankle. Blood tests were fine, not even my inflammatory pointers were up, the doctor was pleased but also confused as to what it could be. I was told I would referred to a specialist consultant and I was still awaiting an appointment for my "urgent" ultrasound.. Three weeks later and I have only just had said ultrasound. The radiographer said he was confident that I do not have cancer, which is brilliant news. I may still be referred to a specialist as they are still unsure as to what is wrong with my ankle, however, my mum has been doing lots of research and considering I am only 21 and on no other current medication other than the Cerazette, we could not think of anything else that may be causing these problems. On Thursday, I took it upon myself to stop taking the Cerazette, it is now Tuesday and my ankle has gone down considerably, the lumps on my legs have also reduced.

It has really made me think, putting all these hormones in our bodies is not good ladies and you really should be careful with what you are taking. I know plenty of girls that take these pills and have no problems what so ever, but there are plenty of other girls, like myself, that have had bad experiences with them and it is really really scary.

Hair Loss With Cerazette Pill (low Oestrogen)

I was taking cerazette (mini pill) for approx 3 months but I started to notice a lot of hair loss. My GP told me to stop the pill and wait for it to get out of my system - I also had blood tests just to rule out thyroid problems and low ferritin - all ok. I stopped for 6 weeks but had no period and hair loss still the same, very noticeable. I went back to docs who said could be low oestrogen so commenced me on microgynon - been taking this for 3 weeks now but hair still the same! All falling out round hair line and breaking all over. At a loss what to do now. Wondered if cerazette can mess with cortisol level?? I am a healthy person, I eat well and exercise daily, I don't drink alcohol or smoke. I do suffer from insomnia don't know if that's linked. Any advise would be really appreciated.

Cerazette Pill - Irregular And Disturbed Periods

I have been on the pill for nearly a month now, before I went on the pill, I had really irregular periods, probably one every couple of months, if that.. now last tuesday I noticed I had started my period, but it wasn't a 'proper' period, it isn't enough to worry about it leaking, and it only seems to happen if I use a tampon, last night I used a pad and woke up to nothing so assumed I had finished, but shortly after I thought I should be safe so used a tampon and there was suddenly a lot of blood on it.

Now over the last week and 2 days, it hasn't always been blood, more like weird brown stuff, what should I do, is this normal or shall I go back to the nurse? It's just a nuisance, as although I'm not actually on my period, I can't have sex like it?

Cerazette Pill - No Periods But PMS (cramps) And All Other Symptoms

It's great for me and I have no real problems with it, I no longer get a period which is fine with me! However, when it comes around to the first couple of days of the month I get some of the feelings I used to get when I did get a period like, mood swings, painful tummy, eating non-stop chocolate!! I can handle this as it's only a few days and not unbearable, but I just wanted to know if this is a common thing to happen. Do women usually still feel an effect of their period, without actually having a bleed?

Contraception Side Effects, Specifically Cerazette

I started taking the pill about a month ago, specifically Cerazette which is the progestogen based pill. It was fine until I got my first period whilst on the pill, since then I've bled consistently and heavily for 3 weeks which is causing me a great deal of discomfort. I went to my local clinic yesterday and switched to the combined pill which I'm told is good at regulating periods and my doctor tells me that I should come off my period within a week, but I am worried that it will continue for longer than that. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the chances are of this problem persisting for longer than said week and if there are any forms of contraception other than condoms which would eliminate this problem for me. Any advice is appreciated.

Contraception :: Cerazette (Nacrez) Moody And Depression?

I'm 14, and due to really heavy periods and being anemic I was put on Nacrez (I think it's exactly the same drug as Cerazette just unbranded.) Anyway, when I was on it I started to feel really really depressed and so the doctors put me on antidepressants. That helped a bit, but confused as to why I had been feeling depressed I googled cerazette depression, and I was so surprised to find that literally hundreds and hundreds of people had been feeling sad, moody and depressed like myself. And so, after two months i made the decision to come off them. That was the day before yesterday. But the thing is, since coming off them I have been feeling even worse. So, so bloated, stomach cramps, and even more depressed?? How long should it take before these horrible symptoms go?

Cerazette - PMS Like Symptoms And Mood Side Effects

I am unable to take pills with estrogen in them (due to a family history of blood clotting), and so have tried taking Cerazette to help with my PMS and period symptoms. My PMS symptoms are the worst between around Day 18/19 when progesterone is highest, so I was reluctant to take a pill that would introduce even more progesterone (especially an artificial kind), but as it is meant to suppress ovulation (which would ultimately reduce that progesterone peak) I decided to try it out.

Anyway, I started taking it around Day 20 of my cycle. At first things were REALLY good. Like it seemed to stop my PMS almost instantly and I was feeling great. A little bit more hungry, a bit of light nausea and headaches, but mostly feeling really good - a lot better than I normally would at that time of the month. On Sunday (day 27) my period was due, but didn't arrive, so I was really happy, but then randomly started feeling a little bit down in the evening in a PMS-like kind of way. On monday, I was mostly fine all day but then got a really irritable over one little thing in the evening. On tuesday, I felt yukky - very much like my usual PMS - I was cranky, tired, hungry and got upset over the silliest thing - And then started bleeding, and felt a lot better once the bleeding started. By thursday, I was still feeling a bit moody, hungry and insecure, and got a large pimple (and I never get pimples!) so I decided to stop taking it and didn't take my pill that evening.

On Friday, I actually felt worse! Couldn't concentrate much at all and was feeling really stressed out that I'd never find a solution to my PMS etc.

I think I want to keep going on Cerazette because I have had some good experiences on it (i.e when I first started taking it), but I'm terrified about the potential mood side effects and am worried it'll make me bitchy/anxious etc.

Cerazette (for 18 Years) - Anxiety And Panic Attacks

I have taken cerazette for about 18 years now. I was 17 when I started. I never really thought about it but having read all your stories I am now wondering if this pill is the reason I have been so scared and anxious for that long! I started having bad anxiety/panic attacks that same year. It lasted for a year back then and then kind of stopped. Never knew what caused it but doctors were kind of like 'your mum is very anxious and you are her daughter so it's in the genes' kind of thing. Just the thing I did not want to hear but never mind. I was so stressed out i lost loads of weight that year, I wouldn't go out anymore as I would be terrified of everything... very irrational, i became withdrawn it was awful. At 22 i fell pregnant despite being on cerazette and i remember being all over the place, my anxiety was back with a vengeance! Unfortunately at the time I had to have an abortion. Since then my anxiety has never properly left. It can disappear for a year or a few months but it always comes back!! Furthermore, i have put on weight too, i have lost my libido big time which is obviously causing issues in my relationship, very tired, feeling really low at times for no particular reason, have become mega sensitive to noise... it's literally ruining my life. I have been on citalopram for 15 years for my anxiety but when it's properly there the medication won't help at all. Could this all be due to cerazette and I just never realised?! I've stopped it last night after reading so many stories about it. I do need help as this is stopping me from doing so many things. I now associate my parents house with the bad memories of my 17th year and I rarely go back there or see them because of it. I love them dearly but this is how bad this anxiety disorder is affecting me. What do you think? Could it be the reason or just pure coincidence? I guess I'll see how I feel in the next few weeks, I guess only time will tell but if you have a similar story or any advice please let me know.
