He has never had an external break out with sores but ever since he has been diagnosed 7 weeks ago he has constant itching around is anus and all down the insides of the inner legs (especially where the underwear line is), ball aches (just one ball at a time), tingling pains like shards of glass under his skin all throughout his anus, balls, penis and inner thighs. Some days are better than others and he can get thru the day. Other days he can't even bear to sit or walk. Its gotten so bad now he cant even touch his penis! some days the inside of his penis burns and it feels like there is still urin left inside. other days his ball aches so bad that a stabbing pain goes up into his stomach, it is debilitating he cant even concentrate at work. a minute can't pass without something hurting.
He has tried a full course of valtrex for 10 days and nothing helped. he tried no meds and it seemed to get a bit worse. he tried a double dose of valtrex for a week and no change.
He is so depressed and worried about it because nothing changes and he hurts badly every day. he has changed as a person and i am reaching out for any leads or help. I have suggested to him to be in valtrex for a much longer term period but he doesn't think it will help as he felt nothing before when he was on a double dose...
2 months ago i went to a csw and had protected sex. I never kissed her but i used a towel at her place after i took a bath which was already damp . After a week i had a blister on my lip which was very painful and didn't heal until 2 weeks i had a single lymph node under my jaw which was aching .i went to a doc and he gave me a cortisone cream .but my lip cant seem to heal it keeps burning and if i stop using medicine its surface gets badly damaged .its been 2 month now and some new lymph nodes on my neck have arrived which ache a bit .im worried what shud i do .does this sound like a herpes outbreak ?

View 2 RepliesI went to see my doctor today due to painful bumps on my penis. After an examination, he concluded that I had the herpes simplex. I have only ever had sexual relations with one partner and both of us were virgins before we got involved with one another. Neither one of us had any stds.
I did have oral sex with my partner while she had a sore throat (just a common cold). My doctor said that that is how I got it. But I don't understand how her sore throat could have given it to me if she didn't even have the herpes virus!! Is this possible? How can it come from nothing?
I have only had a primary outbreak about 3 months ago now. Twice since then I have had a sore throat similar to the one I had in the first 3-4 days of my outbreak. My question is, do you think my recurrent sore throats are in relation to my herpes? I have not had another sore since then.
View 5 RepliesMy husband has had a weird infection under his nail for years, it comes and goes. Swollen, gross rash, then normal for a while, then flare. After every known treatment for nail infections failed, we found a doctor that said it was a herpes viral infection, that it was likely a form of the herpes encephalitis virus, not herpes simplex virus and that it didn't come from a sexual situation, but likely droplets or contact, which makes sense because he worked in a mancamp for a long time that was very unclean and they got all kinds of junk from each other for lack of hand washing, etc. Anyway, the doc said not to worry about the finger infection spreading unless the sores are open. Not long after he got a skin rash on his back and was diagnosed with shingles, but the rash comes back every now and then and has spread to a small area near his armpit. We don't live in the same state anymore, so we can't go back to that doctor. But recently, a friend of mine in medical school showed us a picture of a herpes encephalitis rash on a man's lower back that he saw in a text book and it looks just like my husband's rash... but we both get regular std testing and have always been negative, but this skin thing has gone on for years. Is it possible to have a herpes virus of some kind, with recurring rash, but NOT have genital herpes or the cold sore kind?
View 3 RepliesI'm negative for both hsv1 and 2, last checked in 2013, and have been cautious in the dating scene. I've been dating this girl for two months, and it definitely is not going to be serious, so I wouldn't want to catch hsv1 from her.... In the past week I noticed she had what I thought was a pimple just below her lip (center of her chin). I saw her for 3 days when it was red. I assumed it was a pimple.... Yesterday I noticed that same red spot had scabbed over, and she said that spot appears every 6 months or so... It was clear to me at that point that it's a cold sore. So for 3 days of kissing that red spot, and then 1 quick kiss with that scab yesterday, is it now a guarantee that I am infected??
Also, I got a valtrex prescription, per recommendation from the doctor. I know it wont help prevent an infection, but anything to bring up my chances, I will do. I really do not want to get hsv1, I have other health complications which lower my immune system and would make hsv1 much worse for me.
I was diagnosed with genital HSV 1 in November. I've come to terms with it l, but I'm still learning amount it.
A few days ago, I had a sore throat and 1 swollen gland. The next day, I noticed a couple of white spots on the back of my throat. There has been no fever. I have not had any type of sex since early January.
Called my pcp and he called in regular antibiotic until I can get in to see him next week.
Could this be related to my HSV 1 condition or strep throat.
Can HSV 1 cause break out on the penis or around the penis?

View 6 RepliesAbout 5 days ago, I had a red bump show up on my penis. Is is circular and seems to have a crater on it. Sometimes is has a clear discharge. I hadn't had sex in months previous to it showing up. But I got it checked out by planned parent hood today and the lady said althought it sort of looks like herpes, the area does not itch, not is it sore or painful to the touch. Also it's a single lesion. She didnt even bother to swab and culture this.
Does this seem fishy to anyone? I have a new gf, and the last thing id want to do is get her infected.

Okay so this is a problem i've had since i can remember. This hasn't been affected by being sexually active so its not a STI/STD.
The hole in the top of my penis, where i pee from, its swollen. It hurts to touch but DOESN'T hurt to pee from.
The head of my penis is also slightly red and when i touch it it also stings. Unless my foreskin is pulled back and penis exposed, i can live with it. I have done for many years. But i've decided today im going to get his problem sorted.
I am a man and have been married and monogamous for many years but 8 days ago I foolishly engaged in receiving oral by two men and giving oral to one of them in a men only group sex meeting. I saw no visible signs of anything on their penises. About two days after the encounter I had on and off tingling of the inside of my penis. It appears to be slightly bruised on closure inspection and I was wondering how long it takes for the bruising to go, completely? Maybe about 1 minute without a condom. She then put the condom on and started. I showered and went home. 2 days later I woke up to painful pinching Feelings in my penis. The head of my penis looked bright red and kind of flakey. No visible sores. I had the usual std tests about a week later. All negative. The pinching lasted for about 5-6 weeks. I went for another round of std tests. All negative. My doctor gave me an anti fungal creams but it just seemed to irritate it..I ended up taking fluconazole antifungal pill. Maybe it helped? I've been going through extreme anxiety since this encounter.
I took the igg herpes blood test at 8 weeks. Negative. Going to my doctor tomorrow to see the numbers.
im a 25 year old male and for nearly a year now I've had itchy tingly genitals ranging from the tip of my penis, foreskin, penis shaft, scrotum, perineum, anus, down my urethra and deep inside my anus. I've been treated for fungal infection which didn't do anything and now my doctor is treating me for prostration. vie checked the symptoms of this condition on the internet and itchy tingly genitals isn't a listed symptom. my symptoms seem to match those of genital herpes - only thing is I've never had any kind of rash at all! these symptoms first started when i had a cold sore on my nose and think i may have somehow spread it to my genitals. am i just being very paranoid? I've been on sites which says that herpes doesn't always produce outward signs - should i be asking my doctor to treat me for herpes instead?
