It feels like I smoked too much but I quit over 4 months ago. This sore throat has been around for almost a month and sometimes it's hard to swallow. It's not super painful but it's definitely not comfortable. There's really nothing else I can say to describe it. It just feels like your normal run of the mill sore throat.
View 1 RepliesI am currently taking prilosec every day and zantac twice daily, but still having problems with a constant sore throat. I am good about avoiding trigger foods and have elevated my bed. I do eat something small before I go to bed because if I don't I can't sleep and become very nauseated. The throat is becoming more and more bothersome and is affecting my speech. I have played with DGL, marshmallow root, slippery elm, etc but trying to remember to swallow all these pills is ridiculous. My sleep is affected greatly because my stomach wakes me up every couple of hours with "hunger pains" that won't allow me to sleep. I know I am not hungry because I eat a very good diet.

We did not have anal sex we only did UNPROTECTED oral sex, he ejaculated in my mouth. He said he was clean STI/HIV free, however he had never been tested. He seemed healthy and the penis was clean.
After he ejaculated in my mouth I went home did a salt gargle and drank warm water.
The next day I woke up with a sore throat, very mild, i also had runny stool. But as soon as I forgot about how sore my throat was it went away. I was reading up on Google etc.. and it said that STI symptoms take anywhere from 2 days to months to develop and HIV can be quite a long time and you only see symptoms 3-4 weeks after exposure.
So personally I think it could be a bacterial infection, or pure anxiety, it was the second time in my life i had given oral to a man so I suppose my body isn't Used to it as well.
Its been 72 hours since the encounter the throat problem has subsided however i still have quite runny stool (not as runny as it was)
Could anxiety given me those symptoms, I was extremely worried.
I haven't had any problem on my testes or penis or in the pubic region.
Just curious, sore throat after oral sex in couple hours is a sign of STD? I didn't have it before doing oral sex and I didn't swallow any semen, I spit it out and my saliva while performing.

I had protected sex few weeks ago with a prostitute, but I don't know if the condom broke or not (I think not). 2~3 weeks later I had a mild soar throat (no fever, sneezing, running nose or headache only cough). few days ago, I noticed my tongue is covered in a white creamy thing. Also my fingers joints aches a little bit (few seconds and then it goes away. Last week I burned myself with hot milk. Since now I advise everybody to be careful when drinking hot milk, it is one of the worst things that can happen to your mouth. I have got burns all over my mouth. And now also itchy and irritated tongue. What should I do? Should I go to a doctor?
View 1 RepliesMy tonsils have been swollen for over a month, until last week they were painless, but now I have flu symptoms. Its quite scary, it affects my swallowing and I have a very very dry mouth, even when I drink loads of water all day. Hasn't affected my breathing as of yet, but feels like a lump in my throat is blocking it off.
This has been going for three days now.
Doctor said I need a blood test for glandular fever, which is next week.
I mentioned that I think I can feel my epiglottis swollen, and she laughed and said that is all the way down by my adam's apple and would have a job feeling that... even though i've seen many cases online where it's visible above the tongue and often can be felt.
I get cold sores 3 times a year and 2 canker sores a year. Why do they hurt so much. I think it's because they are infected. Why do they last so long too ? Should you pick at the cold sores on your lips just to get the scab to heal ?
View 1 Repliessore throat,fatigue, pain, no diagnosis Posted 10 minutes ago I'm sorry for the long post but I really need some help. I am 25 years old,female from Bulgaria. Everything started after 2 shots of progesterone done by my gyno. I had high prolactin levels and somewhat low progesterone and my period stopped so that is why she gave me shots. After the second shot I woke up with very bad pain and burning sensations in my sinuses,my whole body was in pain.And there it all begins.For 2 weeks I wasn't getting better, I had a fever (not very high),sinus pain and sore throat. Finally I visited a ENT doctor,she said that there was nothing wrong with me,everything-ears,nose throat looked fine but I asked for a sinus x-ray-it was also fine. Then my gyno advised me to culture my throat and nose. The results were staphylococcus aureus in nose and Moraxella catarrhalis in throat. I was prescribed cefpodoxime (due to antibiogram) took it for several days and I wasn't feeling any better,then my dr switched me to Cefuroxime,it did help at the beginning,I was feeling better but by the time I was taking my last pill all the symptoms returned. My sinuses didn't hurt anymore but my throat was on fire,muscle and joint pain,feverish feeling but no actual fever this time. So I was put on unasyn (Sultamicillin) on IV drip.I was getting no relief and was just feeling very sick from that med,so we stopped it. The I went to another ENT doctor and he told me there was nothing wrong with me, my throat looked fine and I had a little wound in my nose with blood. I had no runny nose. So I did a culture of my throat again and it happened to be Candida Glabrata ( may be because of all those antibiotics) I also had e.coli in my urine.I took one dose of Fosfomycin for my e.coli and it cleared up and I was put on IV drip again with fluconazole for my candida.I also had candida in my vaginal results. I started to get better on fluconazole but again it lasted 3 days and in the end of the treatment I was ill again. My ears started to hurt very badly,all other symptoms continued.I waited 2 weeks after the last antibiotic and did a nose and throat culture again in two different labs and there was no infection found, I also did a vaginal and urine tests again and the urine was fine, had some enterococcus faecalis but in small amounts from my vag microbiology. My gyno said that it is better to not treat it for now because of all the meds I took for those 2 months. Yes,it's been two months and I am only getting worse, my whole body is in pain,I am very fatigued,have the flu feeling sore throat, ear pain,lymph and joint pain,I feel very very ill. And the tests say nothing. On my blood test the only thing that was abnormal was my AST (antistreptolysin-titer) levels were high 310 (from 200 being the norm).Went to a 3rd ENT,he also said everything looked fine, my ears and throat are not inflamed and he said that it wasn't my ears that hurt but my face joints. So I am here,desperate for ome help, not getting better,not knowing what to do now.I started having very bad panic attacks because I think I am dying and no one can find what is that illness. Can it be some autoimmune response to the progesterone shots? I don't know anymore. It's a struggle to get out of bed really.

I have tried just about EVERYTHING otc all nasal sprays, all antihistamines, zyrtec, mucinex, allegra even the ones you have to show your I'D,neti pot, etc. I have even tried candida and other natural remedies like apple cider and such.I have to constantly clear my throat. I have this thick stringy sticky mucous I'm always hacking up. It seems worse after I eat, exercise, laugh. Also in the morning for the first 2 hours I'm up it's worse. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night feeling like I'm drowning in mucous. This irritates all people around me. I've had surgery for my adenoids and deviated septum, before that surgery I could not clear the mucous out, this helped to atleast be able to hack it out. I need someone to be my angel and tell me you have had this same problem and you know the answers since no doctor can help. I feel this is going to be the death of me. I hope I'm not clearing a hole in my throat from doing it so much.

View 8 RepliesOk you guys I started having chest pains last week. I went to the ER and was admitted overnight for observations. Well my Dr wrote a prescription for several different meds including one for my blood pressure, cholesterol and some other stuff. All of my blood work was negative, as well as my EKG. So today I went in for a follow-up and he did another EKG and it was normal. My blood pressure and heart rate was normal. I told him I did not get the prescriptions filled . So he went on to say he didn't think I was having heart problems. So he asked me of some other symptoms that I have and I told him about the nausea after eating , the stomach pain that radiates to my ribs , the bad breath and white coated tongue. And the fact that I was diagnosed with acid reflux but the medication is not working. So he said he thinks it is my gallbladder. So he has ordered a ct scan of my abdomen. I really believe this is the problem I have with the bad breath and body odor.I hope and pray this is the answer to my problem. This could also be beneficial for you guys as well. GOOGLE symptoms of gallbladder disease and if it cause bad breath. I never knew why I keep getting the white coated tongue. So it is digestive related.I will keep you informed. But in the meantime go to your Dr and ask him to check your gallbladder , and be persistent.

View 3 RepliesSo on my back right wisdom tooth, furthest one back, the gum is visibly moving over the wisdom tooth. I've had this before quite mildly, but at the moment I appear to have irritated it further and so now every jaw movement I can feel the tooth scratching the gum which causes pain.
I'm not sure what to do about it, my electrical toothbrush in that area obviously irritates it so thinking I should avoid touching it at all for now, is this just swelling or inflammation which will go down eventually? Anything I can do to speed it up or soothe, a particular mouthwash or a DIY remedy?
I'm a 29 year old female. When I was about 22/22 I noticed a lump inside my tongue. It is my right hand side just off the center and is about 1cm back from the top. It is hard and feels sausage shaped. It can be felt with my fingers and goes further back into my tongue. I can't feel how far back. I have now noticed a small painless spot underneath My tongue right where the lump is. Recently my throat has felt very achy and strained. I have put this down to anxiety as recently I have been anxious over every little thing and can't stop clenching my jaw but last night felt a lymph node is swollen on that side. I have had a few visits to the go lately with various things (breast lump which turned out was from finishing breastfeeding, pain in lower left abdomen which I'm in the process of putting a sample in and going back next week to see about a scan and the other week I went with pain, muscle twitching and weakness mainly down my right side which I'm supposed to be seeing another doctor about when she is back off holiday) I think if I go with something else when all these other issues aren't resolved they are going to think I'm attention seeking or a hypochondriac.

The pain is now away but on the side of my mouth when i was given the numbing injection or where the filling is, i can taste like a chemical taste, i have brushed my teeth 4 times today and also used mouthwash twice and taste is still there! Anyone ever had this or know any suggestions what it could be? I would call the dentist but being 18.43pm they are closed.
