They think I have preeclampsia I have to do this 24hr pee test. I went in because my doctor said I was showing signs of preterm labor & the labor and delivery doctor said I wasn't and that my baby is fine and i'm 2 cm dilated. I'm only 35 weeks and they said it's normal. BUT now they wanna say I may have preeclampsia? What does it mean or have any of u had it ?? If I have it I may have to be induced
View 5 RepliesI had preeclampsia with my last baby (born June 3, 2014) and I'm about 7 weeks pregnant. I'm terrified of getting it again. I was diagnosed with it at 35 weeks. I delivered my son and he was in the NICU for 8 days. I've read that if it was severe and early there is more of a risk, but if it was later and less severe there's a 20% rate of recurrence. I gained 50 pounds with my first. I have been trying to eat better since I found out. I ate like crap the first time. I also didn't take prenatal a because iron made me sick but I'm going to try this time. I'm just so terrified of having it again and getting another bad Doctor. Is there any mom who has had it with their first & been okay with the second? Just to give me a tad bit of excitement rather than creeping fear.

View 4 RepliesSo i've been diagnosed with preeclampsia and the past few days i've had swelling in my right ankle and pain all the way up my right leg my blood pressure has been high i have a headache i don't feel right i called l&d they said it sounds like nothing and im worried i don't know what to do im scheduled to be induced next friday but i feel like my drs are just idiots with how they've been jerking me around here lately

View 3 RepliesWell my doctors have said I am showing signs of preeclampsia and im 38w3d with a baby boy I keep having really bad headaches and spotty/blurry vision I also am very swollen have very high blood pressure and have a bunch of protein in my urine went to the emergency room last night because I couldn't manage the pain anymore and they did my blood pressure 6 times and it was really high each time then they checked my swelling told me i need to be put on bed rest and do a 24 hour urine collection ... im scared im only18 and i've changed and grew up so much for my son my sister almost died from preeclampsia I don't want my son to have anything wrong with him because they are stalling to deliver him and I don't want to have to choose my life or his life I wish they would do something and do it fast im in so much pain on a scale of 0-10im about a 20 someone please give me advice should I call the other local hospital and ask for a second opinion?
View 10 RepliesI had extreme preeclampsia with my daughter 6 years ago, so I took precaution on this pregnancy. I was watching my diet and trying to take it easy. But yet it seems the condition had not eluded me. I thought it wouldn't be quite so scary this time, since I knew more about it, but I was wrong. I'm not sure if it is because it was caught so much earlier since we were watching for it, I'm only 31 1/2 weeks, or what. Today I did the 24 hr urine test and tomorrow we'll get the results and then we go from there. Other than the preeclampsia, baby and I are doing great, which is why I'm hoping for the best tomorrow.

R8 after, I get these painful period like cramps n back pain, it goes on for a few hrs but then fades away and is completely gone, this has been going on for 3 days. Could my cervix be widening? I managed some sleep but am pretty achy (period pain like) and just generally feel terrible (exhausted/flu like) but have had no good contractions. This is my 4th baby, but I don't remember ever feeling rubbish beforehand.
