Prostatitis :: Excessive Sexual Activity Is The Cause

Nov 6, 2015

Have had flare ups occasionally for 30 years. Like most people multiple antibiotics never were helpful. A turp at 37 was a mistake. Prostatitis is caused by trauma; injury, cycling, excessive sexual activity, sitting, etc. some or all. For most people particularly younger guys, excessive sexual activity is the cause. This is like a sports injury to the gland, the nerves or the muscles in the area, just plain over use. Limit sexual activity, once a week or less if you can handle it. Eventually the symptoms, burning, frequency, pain, etc. will dissipate on their own after a couple of months things will improve a great deal. If you have irritated it once, remember you can do it again and the symptoms will return. Forget the ED meds till everything calms down and then moderation is likely best.

Sexual Health :: Pain During Sex With Excessive Bleeding

I am a 43 year old woman who just recently had sex with a much younger man. He had a very large penis. I have not had sex in over 4 years and the sex with him was extremely painful and I bleed excessively and continued spotting for a couple of days. It was bright red and it was everywhere. Now I have been on the Depo provera birth control shot for at least 6 years. And I have not had a period the whole six years. I understand why I bled but not why so much? Was it because of my age? And I believe the pain was due to not have had sex in years. And another thing, it has been a week since we had sex and I constantly feel like I have to pee, which is now a different shade of yellow and I have an abnormal yellow colored discharge. There is no painful urination, no itching, and maybe just a slight smell nothing strong.

What the heck is going on? Did I catch a STI? Do I have a yeast infection may be due to the excessive bleeding? Or is this something that may just go away soon? Could it be due to my age, nearing menopause and the fact that I have not had sex in over 4 years?

Sexual Health - Women :: Excessive Watery Vaginal Discharge

I am 18 years old, sexually active

I have been having intercourse with my boyfriend regularly for the past 5/6 months and we never use any type of protection (yes I know, really bad) we always just make sure he pulls out and he does and everything is just fine. I know that a "safe" time to have sex is during my period due to the fact that the ovule that wasn't fertilized was disposed so that happened. I was around my fourth or fifth day of my period (my normal period lasts 7 days) and he finished inside.. It's happened before so I'm positive there is no problem with that.

When my period finished, I noticed that I have had a lot of discharge and I don't know what it is or why it's happening. It's clear and very watery and sometimes I notice a "different" smell to it, I can't explain it though, it's a bit strong but it's not a completely foul odor either. I believe I should be in my fertile days about know or soon but this has been going on for about 2 weeks now and I'm starting to get worried. Does anyone know what it could be?

Could it be some sort of infection? Or a natural cleansing process? Or something else? Should I worry? Please respond soon as to I am very concerned

Is Prostatitis An Indication Of An HIV Infection?

Unprotected sex with a female that I know well (but do you really know people? she says i have nothing to worry about) , happened approx 7 weeks ago.  Approximately 3 weeks post, was diagnosed with Prostatitis. I'm a 46 y/o male and have crohn's.  The provider stated usually caused by bacteria, or often times is an unknown cause. All my blood work CBC, CMP etc came back within normal ranges.  We did a gonorrhea and Chlamydia test via urine specimen and it was negative as well.  Antibiotic, seemed to clear it up, though still seem to have mild flare now and then.

I googled the condition just to look for some additional information. I see that it is one of the most common urologic conditions for men and seems to hit the 40-50 year range most.  I was concerned when I saw that HIV was listed.  To this I am freaked out and have become very stressed.  The provider wasn't even going to do the G&C tests until I asked if we should - and she didn't seem too concerned.

Question:
1) Is Prostatitis an indication of an HIV infection? An ARS symptom? Do I have a need to worry? (understanding a test is the way to rule out, which I will have done)

2) Can my test at this point in time be considered conclusive once completed?

Prostate :: Herbs For Prostatitis

I am looking for herbs that can cure prostatitis. Have any of you found a good remedy for this? I am not interested in homeopathy as such, as I had bad experienced with that in the past, but just plain herbs would be great. If anyone can post their information up here, that would be so useful!

CT Scan Showed I Had Mild Prostatitis

In short, I (27) was diagnosed with bladder neck stenosis and underwent BNI surgery 4 months ago. I was unable to pee at all. My urinary symptoms are much improved and although my flow rate is still on the low side (15ml/sec), I can fully empty my bladder.

I was in the hospital for a week before doctors diagnosed the reason for my urinary retention. A CT scan showed I had mild prostatitis.

Now I feel I have recovered somewhat but about 2.5 weeks ago, pain associated with prostatitis returned. I went to a Urologist who told me to get a few tests done: CBC, Urine DR, bladder PVR and uroflowmetry. He also prescribed 10 days of antibiotics. The tests seem to be normal with the exception of 4-6 pus cells in my urine. I have not returned to the doctor since.

The pain went away in about a week but has returned. No fever, just a mild constant pain in by upper buttocks area which gets better in the morning. I also have occasional burning pain between my scrotum and anus. My penis feels sore as if I just ejaculated. Occasionally there is sharp pain in the shaft of my penis. I am also experiencing frequent nocturnal emissions. My libido is almost non-existent but when I try I am able to achieve a decent erection.

I have had these symptoms on and off for a few years but although annoying, I did nothing. My GP just tells me to take painkillers. I have read about the kinds of prostatitis and nobody has been able to tell me what exactly is wrong. I have taken 4 rounds of antibiotics (7-10 days) in the last 4 months. It may be of bacterial origin; I was diagnosed with epididymitis 6 months ago with prostatitis symptoms and it cleared up with Cipro.

Prostatitis - Fistula Can Lead To Cancer?

Now 22 , at the age of 13 , i started to have urination difficulties , standing in front of the toilet for about an hour , feeling the urge to urinate even though i know at the same time that my bladder is almost empty and finally a drop or two come , it continued for about a year then it was gone , for the last three years i have been having the habit of excessive masturbation ( sometimes 4 times per day ) , most of the time i go directly into sleep after masturbation , and as result the usual need to urinate after masturbation is suppressed and the urine is retained till i woke whereas i feel its reflux in the  ureter , during this period  whenever i go to sleep with full bladder ( regardless after masturbation or not ) , the urge to empty my bladder never woke me up , but what came up recently that  i started to drink half liter of beer before i go into sleep directly every night for the last 3 days  ,  yesterday i felt my prostate hard as rock , this sensation is mild so far , it is expressed more when i sit on something hard or try to urinate , now today this morning when masturbated after 2 days of cutting masturbation off , this mild sensation became to increase , then afterward masturbation when i try empty my bladder i felt more pain and couldn't pass urine , when i tried about 2 hours later , i managed to do it hardly after i tried to strain my bladder , whereas during these 2 hours i felt urine retention but with much less of the natural urge which drive you to the bathroom but i still feel the pain of reflux at up the ureters  , the one thing which is so clear , that my pain is expressed from the prostate as hardening or feeling it like a rock , with mild sensation of burning . Also i think it is important to mention that at the age of 15 i got " pilonidal sinus " and underwent surgery to remove it but , i stopped checking it for the last 5 years and i have been  feeling it pain coming back for about a year or more , but i ignored it , whereas i am referring that i may have a case of prostatitis with infection originated  from the fistula  , i also doubt it may be prostate cancer , even i know the chances of having it at such age is almost nil , this is why i am thinking to take the test of " PSA "

STDs :: Prostatitis Developed After Gonorrhea

Few years ago, i was diagnosed with gonorrhea and I was left untreated for 1.5 months.

Later, my symptom of gonorrhea has gone. However, symptoms of prostatitis developed and lasted till now (its almost
3 years). I have taken so many antibiotics for a year. But finally they seemed useless to my pain of prostatitis (so i quit it). Now the symptoms are mild. But it really bothers me. I have thought to suicide, because I think i am still contagious of STD. I am afraid gonorrhea is hiding in my prostate, causing prostatitis.

I have done so many tests (PCR of semen, prostatic fluid). They came back neg. However, I wonder if these tests are false neg (because the false neg reports made me left untreated my problem of gonorrhea. I am afraid i would pass STD to my gf...I am afraid i could not father a child..these problems annoy me so much..Sometimes i would think its better to die rather than suffer..can someone professional or experienced help me?

Prostatitis :: Induced By Stress And Prolonged By Anxiety

After having both prostatitis and epididymitis for over a year, i am now convinced this was induced by stress and prolonged by anxiety.

I think both stress and anxiety tighten up the pelvic are leading to urination issues.

My prostate was inflamed but no real infection. The infection that was found in my semen is very common and probably would of been there had i not had prostatitis.

This all started with a very stressful event and then some more stress. After getting the initial symptoms anxiety set in. I knew it wasn't cancer but for some reason i was scared to death of an enlarged prostate. Being in my 40's i thought, " oh my god, if my prostate is a little enlarged now, it will be the size of a watermelon in my 50's. that will mean big time urination issues and sexual issues.

Crazy but it scared me. My prostate was a tad enlarged because it was inflamed.

All the anxiety and hyper focus on my prostate made my problem worse and appear worse than it was. Because of where the prostate is located, any little sensation will be exaggerated.

I remember reading an article that said those with large prostates wake up 3 or 4 times a night and have a weak stream. Wouldn't you know, that very night i woke up 4 times with a weak stream....the power of suggestion!

Anyway, my stream is sometimes weak and splits but that is irritation. I am feeling better and never had real pain, just soreness in my prostate area. That soreness gives the sensation of urination..hope i get totally back to normal soon.

Prostatitis :: Feeling Of Fullness Or Tension In My Rectum?

I've been having some symptoms for years now that have a big affect on my quality of life and hold me back quite a lot, and I'm starting to think I might have prostatitis.

The main symptom that annoys me is a feeling of fullness or tension in my rectum. In the past, it got so bad I could not sleep and it drove me up the walls, I felt like I had to defecate but I didn't. I would wake up feeling fine, but as the day went on, the tension would build and build and it got really noticeable by the evening. I still get this but have learned to manage it better as I will explain below. I also have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but my bowel movements are in fact very regular - the only IBS issue I have is spasms that were noted during a sigmoidoscopy. On a related note, I would also get very painful proctalgia fulgax spasms that wake me up suddenly at nigh and last for maybe 10 minutes or so. If I do not get a good rest every night, I wake up with the tension and pain the next morning and it makes for an unpleasant day.

Certain things would really aggravate the sense of rectal fullness/tension. Sitting is the worst culprit, if I sit on a hard seat I will have nasty feelings of pain and tension in my rectal area for days. If I have a bowel movement that does not go completely smoothly, I get a feeling of incomplete evacuation and will get feelings of tension and spasming for the rest of the day. I also tend to feel quite sensitive after a bowel movement and avoid sitting down at all for maybe an hour afterwards or else I will cause this tension/fullness feeling. Because of these problems I am paranoid about keeping a regular diet so my bowel movements are regular and smooth. I eat the exact same thing every day, and in particular avoid alcohol since it causes harder movements and wrecks the next day.

In the past, I thought my problems might be caused by internal haemorrhoids, but a sigmoidoscopy showed that everything looked fine (only very minor haemorrhoid inflammation), but the doctor did note some spasms/hypersensitivity in the rectal area caused by the movement of the scope. I then thought it might be levator ani syndrome. However, I more recently stumbled across chronic prostatitis online, and I realised I had many of those symptoms that I did not think of as problems. For example, I get up 2-3 times each night to urinate, I get random pains in my left testicle or the tip of my penis, etc.

The control measures I have learned that work for me over the years are also consistent for chronic prostatitis. I take a hot sitz bath every night now (with the weight on my hands) and that is a huge help in relieving the feelings of tightness/fullness. This also stopped the proctalgia fulgax spasms I would get at night. If I am not at work, I avoid sitting completely and this has also helped prevent the tension/fullness feeling from building throughout the day.
In summary:

Considering that my main symptoms are rectal pain/tightness/sense of fullness/spasms, and that these are accompanied by frequent urination at night and occasional, random genital pain, would all this indicate that chronic prostatitis is my problem?

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) Can Lead To Prostatitis?

I was diagnosed, by my GP, with BPH about three years ago although I have been having symptoms for way longer than that as I kept putting off bringing it to his attention.

My question is can BPH lead to prostatitis, nonbacterial? I ask because over the past several months I have been experiencing a lot of 'discomfort' after urinating such as stinging, burning, which extends the length of my penis way back up between my legs and 'deep inside'. Along with this is the constant, and I mean constant, feeling of wanting to 'go'. Sometimes the stinging seems to turn to a dull sort of ache which is difficult to describe. Along with this is an intermittent feeling that I am going to wet myself as it feels a 'spurt' of urine is making its way down my penis but only one one occasion, thankfully, has anything actually leaked.

I went to my GP about a month ago now and he did a urine test but it was clear. He has referred me to the hospital to see a urologist as I also had another instance of difficulty in urinating but my appointment is a month away.

The 'discomfort' comes and goes over several weeks or months, or so it seems, but when it comes it drives me to despair.

I take Tamsulosin and Finasteride

Just wondered if anyone else is suffering similarly.
