Sertraline And PTSD - Bouts Of Anxiety For A Couple Of Days

I have PTSD and have been struggling lately. My Dr prescribed me Sertraline about 7 weeks ago. I started on 25mg and have increased to 50mg.

Initially I had a few wobbles but persevered and feel so much better generally. The problem is that I feel pretty good then will suddenly drop and feel anxious for a couple of days. I feel shaky and as if I'm having internal tremors. I felt like this before the tablets too.

Another problem is that I'm already only a UK size 6. I have bowel disease and struggle to maintain a healthy weight. Now I've dropped half a stone again so only weigh 8 stone and I'm 5 foot 7.

The last 2 days I've felt 'nervy' again.

Sleep Disorders :: 3-6 Hours Of Sleep Until I Wake Up And Cant Go Back To Sleep

I'm 14 years old and yesterday school started after two weeks of holidays. I went to bed at 11 PM and woke up at 4 AM. I tried to go back to sleep but I just couldn't. At 6 AM I got up and got ready for school. After school I was really tired and took an hour long nap, but I was still extremely tired. I went to bed at 9 PM and fell asleep in a second. I woke up at 2:30 AM and tried my best to fall asleep, but it didn't work. Its 6 AM right now and Ive done some homework, as I couldnt do them yesterday because I was so tired. The thing is, this didn't happen in my holiday, and I get really cranky when I don't get enough sleep. Do I have insomnia?

Restless Leg Syndrome By Poor Circulation?

I've had RLS on and off for the last 10 years and have only recently started to notice that whenever I get up in the night with a bad case of it the veins in my lower legs are feet are extremely large and swollen, to the point that people who've seen them have even mentioned it.

One thing that 100% cures it for 20 minutes or so is having a freezing cold shower which constricts the veins so that they're not visible, and I get the opposite with hot baths, they drive my legs nuts and make my veins look huge and I have to get out almost straight away. The only other thing I've had luck with is raising my feet when I sleep by putting cushions under them. I was wondering whether this could suggest that it's being caused by poor circulation and that the need to move them is my body trying to get the blood flowing, and that maybe a drop of blood pressure at night causes it to pool in my legs, hence the large veins. I know dehydration also lowers blood pressure and when I down a few pints it also seems to give some relief. Does it sound likely that this is the cause for me, and if so what could I do to relieve it, I was thinking maybe some calve stockings?

Eyes :: Squint Vs Poor Vision

Actually my 8 months baby girl started squint her left eye inward from last 2 months. In start she do this rarely but now it's increasing day b day specially when she focus on far objects. Today i visit to Dr for her checkup and the Dr suggested her nearsighted glasses.

I am actually confused that her squint is due to her poor vision? or due to poor vision she squient her eye?

I mean poor vision and squint are two different things as i know. right?

Why she only squint when she focus on long distance objects?

Bisoprolol :: Excessive Sweating And Very Poor/slow Recovery From Exertion

I had AF with hyperthyroidism in 2013 and the AF was attributed to the hyperthyroidism. I was chemically cardioverted within the first 24 hours at my local hospital.  Then I had another bout of AF when I was euthyroid and I was (so far successfully) electrically cardioverted in late 2014.

I was put on bisoprolol after the first bout of AF and since being on bisoprolol, have have been troubled by excessive sweating and very poor/slow recovery from even minor exertion.  I will spontaneously start sweating for no reason and it takes ages to stop and by then I am soaked through - head, face, chest & back.  After exertion e.g 20 mins walking on a running machine, it will take me 2-3 hours to stop sweating & being flushed.

Has anyone else had a problem with bisoprolol and excessive sweating/poor recovery from exertion?

Periods Heavy For 2 Days, Medium For 2 Days, Then Light For 1-2 Days

Please tell me is my period flow normal. I used to get 5-6 day periods, heavy for 2 days, medium for 2 days, then light for 1-2 days until it tapered off and ended. It was this way even when I was on birth control.

For the past few months now, I have been getting 3-4 day periods, where the first day is really just some spotting indicating my period is going to be starting. The second day is my heavy day. The third day is medium light. The 4th day is light. I'm still on birth control. I am 30 years old now.

Also last month, my period color was dark brown and I also had some black colored clotting during my heavy day. I know some blood clots are normal during menstruation, I had them all my life. But this blood clot was black. Again this month on my heavy day, I had black colored clot. It was a dime size clot. Size was not large. Is black color clotting anything to worry about? I do not see red blood these past two periods like I am used to seeing. I am seeing mostly brown and/or black.

And how can I increase my menstrual flow. I am worried that my endometrium lining is thinning and can cause a problem when I do try for children.

Sertraline :: Advice On Stopping Sertraline

I had some terrible problems last november stopping venlafaxine to start sertraline.  I realised I have tried over 6 different meds and have decided to get back to the start and take none.  I have been to a doctor today who was not very helpful and as I have never been given the right advice about cross tapering I am not confident about stopping.  I started with 50mg, 1 december 2014, in mid January increased to 100mg and to be honest things are worse in the way I feel.  No libido (I am a happily married 46 year old woman who used to enjoy my husbands attention), No motivation, No sense of enjoyment in anything, overeating, overspending and little or no self worth.  I have been told stop 100mg and take 50mg for 4 weeks and then review.  I am thinking maybe 75mg for a week, then 50mg for a week, then 25mg for a week then nothing....  Any ideas?  I have been on one antidepressant or another since 2009.

Sleep Disorders :: Cannot Wake Up From Sleep

I'm diagnosed sleep apnea and since it's onset, have been unable to wake myself up. This includes alarm clocks, opening windows, setting a sleep schedule, etc. The ONLY way I can wake up is by somebody physically waking me up and that only works after the first couple of tries. First issue is when I hear an alarm clock, I move from whatever dream I'm in to a separate dream where I think I've woken myself up, but I keep trying to turn off the alarm clock and it won't turn off. Sometimes I realize I'm dreaming still and "wake up" into a 3rd or 4th dream that seems more real and have the same issues. Secondly, my body seems to require 13-16 hours of sleep in order to feel well rested and wake up naturally. I am using a cpap machine, however, I sort of sleep walk and remove the machine in my sleep. Any ideas on how I can become independent and wake up on my own?

Menopause :: Feeling Out Of Sorts - Good Days / Bad Days

For the past year i have had many strange symptoms in varying degrees, good days/bad days, good weeks/bad weeks.

Here is a list of my symptoms

Lack of energy, Extreme tiredness/fatigue,feeling faint (although never fainted),dizzy on and off but always dizzy up to a week before my period,  one very bad period of 4 months vertigo. Jelly legs, shaky inside, feeling weak as though I've had the flu or something but I've not even had a cold this year.Palpitations, feeling detached, feeling like i'm about to loose consciousness (very odd feeling) the feeling you get just as you are about to go to sleep, Brain fog.Sensitive to light, eyes often become bloodshot. Headaches/migraine. Sometimes feel so cold inside & cannot seem to warm up.Periods of insomnia, bladder irritability especially in week before period, episodes of what i now call bladder fizz where bladder so irritable it feels like i have fizzy liquid in my bladder cannot sleep through this sensation sometimes accompanied by the feeling of a red hot needle going up the urethra (would be interested to know if anyone else gets this & any remedies please? A pain I get on either side low down about where pubic hair begins pain seems to radiate to back & sometimes down into the thigh on the side of where the pain begins, doesn't seem to coincide with ovulation & randomly happens (ibuprofen usually takes it off after a couple of hours) Bloating & times of excessive wind.Monthly cyst like spots on jaw line, hair sprouting on chin & upper lip (invested in a home laser scanner) Hair beginning to thin at temples.

Food cravings for something salty & chocolate particularly before period.

I am almost 53 so after reading forums on here have come to the conclusion that its menopause & not some mysterious illness, thought I might have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, just didn't realise there were so many different symptoms of menopause.

Last year I did have very bad night sweats & hot flushes but they have reduced greatly, I take vit 6, eat plenty of fresh fruit/veg/salads, chicken, fish, flax seeds/chia seeds.

I'm so pleased to have found this forum & to find i'm not the only one suffering through this and not going mad, hope this might help someone else.

Fainting With Sertraline

After trying to not take my prescribed sertraline until I was so bad I felt I had to, within a week I had an awful experience work. I am a support worker (needing support myself!) and whilst with a client sitting on a chair I fainted or something worse and came too finding myself on the floor. I went back to my GP and she said to stick with tablets. I told them I was worried about fainting again especially as I drive. They said stop driving. I said I need to drive for my work. They said stop the tablets. I am so low. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. I got very anxious about all this and went back to the GP who signed me off for two weeks. I've looked at the DVLA Guidelines and for 'dizziness' it said I MUST tell the DVLA. I do want to be responsible to others as well as for myself, but this is driving me crazy!

Sertraline :: When Does It Actually Kick In?

I've had panic disorder with agoraphobia for over 20 years. I was on the highest dose of Duloxetine for approximately 10 years, but recently my GP took me off this, as I was beginning to have many episodes of panic attacks.

I started taking 25mg of sertraline 18 days ago. Since then the GP has raised the dose to 50mg and then on day 14 of taking sertraline she raised it again to 75mg. I wondered if anybody knows how long it takes to get into the system. I currently feel more anxious and highly agitated. I'm finding it hard to leave the house. Any advise would be welcome, as would any information on this medication. I need to start feeling better soon, as I am self employed and need to earn some money. This is also adding to my anxiety!
