Unable To Conceive After 9 Years Of Yasmin - 32 Years Old

Apr 24, 2013

I am 32 years old and I have 1 child and for awhile i have been trying to get another and i have not been able to conceive ...I should start by telling you that i have been on yasmin for 9 years and i stop taking them for awhile to get pregnant but nothing happened so because of not taking the yasmin my period became off balance and i was put back on them by my doctor. i also had a surgery couple years ago called an umbilical hernia, can this be the cause why i am unable to have another child ? I would like to have another child before I am 40 what should I do ?

Pregnancy :: Trying To Conceive - Was On Pill For 17 Years

I was on the pill for 17 years and I came of it February 2012 because my partner and I are trying for a baby. I've had no periods at all since then. It's been nearly 2 years and still no period! I'm 7 stone 12 pounds, fit and healthy with no family history problems in the reproductive area.

I get terrible spots on my chin and my fertility tests are good. Why haven't I had a period after all this time? I'm getting worried now. I saw a Gynecologist in 2012 and had all the tests etc which came back great. In 2013 I took Clomid and still nothing. I have a very unsympathetic doctor. Can anyone help as to what I should do next? Is anyone in my situation?

Birth Control :: Mirena For 2 Years And Now Unable To Get Pregnant

Getting pregnant was never a problem for me. Simple, he'd look at me, and bam I have two children. That is until I had the Mirena (5yr) left it in for 7 yrs due to no insurance at that time. I am now 31 and had the mirena out for over a year with no luck getting pregnant. There are times I feel like I am pregnant I get sore breasts, cramping but then I start my period. This month however I am having the same symptoms and my period is late. I knew I was ovulating BC of the egg white like discharge(sorry if tmi)that was about 14 days ago I took a test this morning and result was negative. Maybe i don't understand how all this works completely lol idk but my periods are either at the end of the month or the first of the month. There's no way i could be having symptoms of pregnancy this early and its just my period warning sign. I'm starting to think that leaving the mirena in for 2 years over the time it was supposed to come out and not having periods in 7 years has done damage to my body.

Unable To Conceive After An Abortion

I had an abortion when i was 21 years old now that i am 25 i am really to have a baby. My husband and i have been trying now for close to 14 months. I'm really concerned because before my abortion my periods were like clockwork, you could set your watch by them. After my abortion my periods were no longer normal. They were every 33 days one month 14 days apart the next, sometimes not at all. sometimes twice in one month. Every doctor that i've spoke with tells me "it will take sometime for your cycle to get back to normal" How long will it actually take? its been over two years now and my periods are still like this. I have even tried taking birth control pills to help regulate my cycles and nothing seems to help. Which is making it more difficult to conceive because i have no idea when im ovulating, or if i am even ovulating. I have even tried charting my BBT and buying a fertility monitor and Nothing seems to help at all. My husband has even had fertility exams and tests and they are all NORMAL?

Infertility :: Unable To Conceive - Chocolate Cysts

Its been 6yrs since I am married. I have chocolate cyst on my left ovary and its big than it should be. Irrespective of it, we have been trying to conceive, but no luck so far. Actually, we thought of having a baby only by the end of last year. Since its been more than 6 months now without any positive results we consulted a Fertility clinic. The doctor was very good and she prescribed me some medicines and asked me to keep trying for another 6 months. I even did a HSG test and the result was normal. So the doctor advised me against a laparoscopy now for the cyst.

So with some positivity and great hopes I started taking the medicines and its been a month and a half now, but still with no luck. Every month when the symptoms for my periods start showing at least 10 days before my date I get all depressed and hopeless. I end up crying like a baby once I get my periods, upsetting my husband who tries to remain positive all the while.

This anticipation game is killing me deeply inside. Is it normal to take some time once the medication starts? Or is it just me?

I am desperate to have a baby. All of mine and my hubby's friends and relatives who got married after us had babies. We are the only childless couple in our circle. Its given me a lot of inferiority complex lately. I have started avoiding everyone as I cant bear anyone asking me "Guys don't delay and have kids, if you have any problem visit a good Dr." I don't know if its concern or trying to know what's happening in our life. And when strangers ask "you have any child? If No, then- How many years since you are married & why don't you consult any Dr.? Its hurting me a lot. People with kids don't understand the pain I guess.

Cholesterol :: 17 Years Old With 140

I am a 17 year old teenage male. I am not overweight (I'm 5"8 and like 145 pounds which is around average for my height) but my doctor apparently told my parents that I have a high cholesterol level of around 140 which has gotten my parents pretty freaked out. However, my parents tend to freak out about alot of things, so I just wanted to know if I'm really high for someone my age and weight, and if this means I'm at high risk of a heart attack. Does anyone know how cholesterol works for teenagers?

Been On Amiodarone For 20 Years

I have been on amiodarone for most of the last 20 years. I have a heart rhythm problem that killed my mother at age 25 and a sister at age 21. Initially I had problems with sleep and other symptoms until I got used to the drug. Nowadays I have to take care with the sun but have no other symptoms and ensure I have regular blood tests etc. If it were not for amiodarone I would probably not be here today.

Venlafaxine :: Getting Off After 10 Years

I have read a lot of entries about this drug, and I do agree with many that at first it did its job.  To pout you in the picture I have been on 225 mg for 25 years now and like some have been very apprehensive about stopping due to extreme withdrawal.

Yes some may criticise my deciding to go cold turkey, but I do feel that venlafaxine is like any addictive drug with one exception, it is fear of withdrawal that stops many from even trying.  I am now on my 5th day and yes the symptoms are shocking in more ways than one (srry bout pun).  My reason to decide is simple.. Do I need venlafaxine anymore?  Simple answer No!  I just got to the comfort and routine of taking it every day.  Don't get me wrong cold turkey is not necessarily the right way unless you have an iron constitution, and willpower.  I am no expert so please do not take all I say as gospel.

Whilst the withdrawal is bad at the moment, I have noticed a clarity in my mind growing as time goes by, it almost as if I a getting part of myself back and it is no longer negative or suicidal as of many years ago that I lost to venlafaxine (My faith is a big part of this too.).

So what is happening this early in cold turkey?  Brain zaps like mad I also have slight nausea, I have decided to consult my GP to request some anti withdrawal medicine I am aware that this prob will not stop the zaps etc but poss offer a cushion.  Maybe I am stubborn but I will not do the weaning off method, I have stopped illegal drugs and alcohol without weaning off, and even though venlafaxine is legal, for myself would be like having dope or a drink to solve the problems, but in fact I consider doing that a step backwards.  I would be very interested in any one especially who did cold turkey to share what they found out with me, and of course any other comments you may have.

6 Miscarriages In 5 Years

I am 37 years old and have had 6 miscarriages in the last 5 years, I do not currently have any children. I have had testing done and have been told that all tests were normal. All miscarriages have been before 10 weeks and all of them except one were after having seen a heartbeat on ultrasound. I'm just looking to see if anyone has been successful after having this many miscarriages or more. I'm just looking for some hope as I'm not getting any younger but don't want to give up on my dreams of a family.

Raynaud's Again After Years?

Let me introduce myself as a 57 year old male living in Minnesota. We are currently experiencing one of the longest sub-zero cold spells in my memory. 55 days below zero degrees F already this winter. Yes it is very COLD.

Twenty five years ago, in my early 30's, my fingers began blanching white while carrying items during summertime. I was frightened when several visits to the doc hadn't helped. Carpal tunnel syndrome was ruled out. At that point a neurologist asked if I was a smoker. Yes I was, two pack-a-day. He looked at me very pointedly and told me I'd better quit smoking ASAP. I was crushed, I had tried many times to quit cigs to no avail. I looked down at my white fingertips and bluish toes and decided to quit then and there. That was my last cigarette. Sept 1989. Miraculously, I never saw a white finger tip or blue toe again.

Twenty five years later my left hand has been suddenly reminding me that there is still an issue. Two or three fingers remain cooler than the others and will empty of blood when carrying parcels, or squeezed. Slowly the pink returns. I do not smoke. Hopefully that will keep the symptoms limited.
Someone had posted that what affected you in youth is probably gonna come back to haunt you later in life.

Young people with raynaud's; Quit smoking! Don't move to arctic climates, either.

Hypertension :: 19 Years Old With BP Of 140/60

Knee :: TKR Less Than Two Years After PKR

I'm probably going to have TNR less than two years after PNR. It would be nice to hear some success stories to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Are you happy you did it? Are you able to continue a somewhat active lifestyle?  Are you pain-free?

I'm sure for those of us that are trying to overcome post surgical issues, a dose of positive news would be most beneficial.

Stopping Smoking After 37 Years

I smoked for 37 years from the age of nine. I have tried to quit many times but can say now in hindsight that I never really tried, I just pretended to myself that I was trying. Some times I stopped smoking and had a cigarette less than an hour later but made up an excuse and continued to "try" stopping. I never actually admitted to failing until I was back on my usual 20 or 30 a day.

In January I decided to give it a go again but this time I went to a stop smoking group. This will not work for all people but it did for me so I am happy. Somebody at the group came out with the idea that everyone at the group should get into their heads that the minute you have 1 cigarette then you have failed. I am a naturally competitive person and this really worked in gettting me motivated. I did not want to be the one that failed.

In the group we were given help with products and I chose to use patches and lozenges. I used the patches for 6 weeks and the lozenges for about 12 but do not use either now. There seems to be this perception amongst internet posters that if you use stop smoking products then you didn't do it properly and its far better to stop "cold turkey" Personally I think it's the result that counts not how you get there.

I have now gone almost 8 months without a cigarette and still get the cravings now and again. But I just keep saying to myself "if you have 1 cigarette you have failed".

Rhinitis :: Back After 3 Years

I suffered with rhinitis for 11 years. Took steroid spray which didn't help. Had allergy test which said I wasn't allergic to anything at all. I then had 3 glorious years free from a blocked nose.

Unfortunately it has now come back. I cannot think of anything that I have done differently to cause it to go nor for it to come back.

I seem to have a cycle; one day feel okay, next day or two so blocked up that I cannot sleep and even if I can blow my nose it immediately blocks up again after. My jaw aches from having to breath through my mouth. The next day my nose isn't blocked but continuously runs and I get through boxes of tissues.

The first 7 years I suffered in both nostrils but after that only one nostril is effected which makes me feel lopsided. Why would an allergy only cause problems on one side?

It really is a very antisocial problem and although sounds trivial I know you fellow sufferers can understand how debilitating it is.

15 Years Old Son Has Hydrocele On The RIGHT Testicle

My son, now 15 has had this enlargement on the left side for two years now as an adolescent male (he couldn't confide in his parents which is sad). Having seen the doctor he has now been diagnosed as a possible hydrocele and is having a scan tomorrow. Having looked at his birth record and child development book the dr recorded an hydrocele on the RIGHT testicle at 7 weeks which I automatically assumed disappeared, but I think at present he may have hydrocele slightly on this side as well. I've been told it's congenital and related to growth within the womb. Any advice most welcome as I feel very awkward when he's nearly a man
