Wheel barring already went out?
The front driver wheel does his flapping noise, it sounds as if there's a rock in my tire. No tred problem, no cv boot problems.
Noticed a squeaking like noise coming from their from front drivers side wheel when turning left? Seems to only do it right after driving my car after it has been sitting for a bit. Can't make it in to Hyundai until next week, and I'm a little worried.

I was driving home recently and heard a flapping type noise on the drivers side and thought something was stuck in my undercarriage or even in my tire and the wind was causing it to flap. I pulled over to check, saw nothing, so I kept driving home and stopped into my local Toyota and they didn't see anything loose or out of place. We went on a test drive and of course, there was no noise.
Later that night as I was driving, it started in the middle of my drive, I parked and when I drove again, no noise and I haven't heard it since; this was 3 days ago. I thought it was just at highway speeds, but I've heard it at different speeds.
My 2013 Accent seems to be shredding the front inside wheelwell liner. I have to get both of them replaced. I noticed this had already happened when I bought the car, but since I didn't hear any noise during the "spirited" test drive, I figured who cares?
I was wrong. They rub whenever I go over a slight bump. The tire size is OEM. I am assuming it's happening because they are already shredded and loose.
Is this a common problem with the Accent (of course, if it happens with aftermarket larger rims or tires I get it)...
I have a 2004 F150 XLT super crew cab. I bought this used with around 99,000 miles on it. There is a plastic / rubber two piece cowl panel between the hood and the windshield. There are little rubber type material tabs on the outer edge between the fender and the cowl panel. They are there on my truck but they have started to come off. I have noticed that when I get up to roughly 45MPH and over I get a flapping wind noise on the drivers side of the vehicle only. I thought it was that little rubber flap because it came off completely and the noise got a little worse. I super glued it back on but the noise is still the same.
View 4 RepliesMy 2005 Prius has 95k miles on it. I've been hearing a cluck-cluck-cluck noise from near the front driver side wheel. I had an independent mechanic test drive it, who said the wheel bearing needs replacement. Should I have it checked out by a Toyota dealer? They're so much more expensive, but are is it worth taking it to them?
View 15 RepliesSo on my girlfriends 2000 echo I get the classic bad wheel bearing noise/vibration on the front left (driver side) wheel. Worsens under load (right turn) and goes away when unloaded (left turn). I've replaced left side bearing, CV axle, brake rotors/pads and the noise still persists. My next thought is maybe the ball joint but humming/vibration tells me something out of rotational balance. Bearing in the transmission? I don't know. I'm stuck.
View 5 RepliesI just purchased a 2000 Hyundai Accent. I was told it has a bad wheel bearing on the front driver's side. I am assuming that would be the clicking sound that associates with speed. I was told the cv joints or axles were replaced but have a leak. I couldn't see a filler hole or one to check from. I also don't see fluid under the car from parked. Also, there is a humming which sounds like knobby mud tires. The humming disappears during hard right turns.
View 6 RepliesSo, I now have just under 20,000 km on my Accent, and lately there have been some noises popping up. I'm wondering if they're normal or not.
1. At low speed or completely stopped, when I turn the wheel about halfway in either direction I hear a popping noise. It sounds like it's coming from the steering column, but I'm not completely sure. I just began noticing it a couple days ago. So far it only seems to happen after the engine has warmed up; doesn't happen right after a cold start.
2. After the engine has warmed up, I also hear a knocking noise coming from underneath the car. It happens only at low speeds or when stopped. It seems to be directly related to the engine RPM.
When it idles around ~700 it will knock once. If I keep it in neutral and press the gas, it'll knock again. Let it idle, knock. Apply gas, knock. It also happens when in gear. I think it's either the fuel or exhaust system. Maybe it's the sound of the in-tank fuel pump turning on and off? It sounds the same regardless of how much fuel is in the tank.
This has been going on for a couple months now, and there don't seem to be any ill effects related to it... yet.
3. This isn't a noise, but a smell. Since it's summer here now I've been using the A/C quite often. While it's running it's ok, but when I turn it off it smells like a wet basement for a while.
I'm thinking that maybe the evaporator isn't draining properly and mold is growing in there. If I turn the blower on high right after turning off the A/C sometimes little water droplets will come out. I should also mention that it's very humid here at this time of year.
2012 Accent. I have a wind noise issue. I don't mean that it's just loud. The driver's side upper window area has a crazy noise. It's a high pitched (is there another kind?) whistle. It is very inconsistent. I can not give any precise circumstance under which it appears, but it is definitely speed related. It appears from about 65-70 mph. But only sometimes. It also seems more common with cross winds, but it's hard to say for sure. I can not for the life of me pinpoint the origin. It seems to be around head level on the driver's door.
View 3 RepliesI've just got a 2014 model Hyundai i25 and it has a funny habit. When the driver's door is opened there is a ticking noise (like a light on/off sound). The noise stops when the door is closed. It happens only with the driver's door. This a company car and I checked the others ~ 15. None behaves the same. The local official Hyundai dealer/workshop can't figure it out...
View 2 RepliesI have the 2013 Accent with nasty knocking noises from the front. Have the same thing with my 2009. I opened the hood yesterday to fill the washer fluid and noticed I have a gap between the insulator dust cap, body or frame and strut insulator. I can almost poke a pencil through the gap. I am to think this is not normal. I have about 16000 kms on the car.
View 20 RepliesOver the last few days I've noticed a clicking noise coming from the front driver wheel. This clicking has been getting louder, everything seems in check, no crazy vibrations, or vering side to side and all lugs are tight. The clicking stops when the break is applied, could this be break pad warning chippers? I have yet had time to take wheel off and look.
View 6 RepliesHad my wheel bearings replaced 3 weeks ago from a mechanic I never went to, as mine was on vacation. 3 days later tire fell off while driving. So we took it to my regular mechanic and had all safety issues fixed. New brakes, rotor, hub. But noticed that a grinding noise appeared. Took it back to mechanic, and he said that it was due to the spindle being slightly bent. Thst it wasnt a safety concerns, but will cause rotor/ brakes to wear out quicker.
I'd like to trust my mechanic, as he has always done good work for me in the past. But am a little shaky over every noise. I'd he correct?How soon should I get it repaired? I just dropped over $600 to get the can drivable again. So if I can push it off until I can afford it that would be great! Otherwise, I might need a small loan to repair.
I hit a curb in my 97 corolla now it's making a noise in the front driver side wheel well driving down the road, what it is?
View 6 RepliesI own a 2005 Hyundai Accent 1.3 SOHC and a while ago the front right wheel started to make a grinding noise, problem was related to the brake system..
So far I've tried replacing the rotor (disc), repaired the caliper (using a rebuild kit), replaced hoses (both), and event the master cylinder.... and the problem persists, it actually came to the point that after driving a while the front wheels will get stuck.
I've followed all the directions from the service manual and it still got the problem...
So I picked up my Accent on Tuesday with only 8kms on it and I love it! However I have one problem, I was driving around today and kept on hearing a rattling noise coming from the front right passenger side. I tried to lower/raise the window but I think it may be around the speaker.
View 3 RepliesI have a 05 Prius. Developed a low hum noise some time ago. It now is so loud can't hear the radio. Sounds like a heavy agressive truck tire rolling down the road. When turning the steering wheel from right to left quickly, noise level changes. Does this sound like a bad wheel bearing and if so what am I looking at for repair costs?

Its quiet if I am going straight, but it sounds like there is a linkage loose. Its not too loud or noisy, but having problems with tierods/knuckle assy?
View 1 RepliesMy car is a 2000 Corolla CE I bought 2 months ago with 45k miles. It does not have ABS system.
Before I took the mechanic:When I brake, there would be a "clamping" noise from the drivers front wheel sometimes. It sounds like the caliper "clamping" noise. The brake cylinder would also click the first time (and maybe second) the pedal is pressed.
The mechanic replaced the both front calipers, put new brake pads, installed rear drums and shoes, and changed brake fluid.
The brake pedal is now high and when I brake....it does brake but it's not like "instant stopping power" like new brake pads. Is this normal? (maybe I have to break them in). Also, the master cylinder is still clicking (I pump the brakes since my car has no ABS)....it clicks the first 2 times I pump. Is that normal?
Edit:Since the repair, I drove it for the second time. This time the brakes brake more "instantly". The clicking of the master cylinder is still there however, could this be due to air in the hoses?
Lowered my car yesterday. 23" FTG. I'm now hearing a clicking noise from my drivers side front wheel.. I mostly hear it when my foot is off the gas and I'm just coasting (usually at slower speed). Also, it gets louder (worse) and is accompanied by what sounds like a rubbing when I take turns.. Is it axle bind? Or should I be concerned?
