Brand new car leased since Nov, 15', at this low mileage already has noise that sounds like a 40,000 mile car (maybe not even with some other quality cars). Does it sound too early?
View 3 RepliesI've got my sister's 1995 Dodge Neon with the 2.0L SOHC. While driving it recently I heard a horrible squeaking noise then a ZZZZZZzzzzzz sound. I immediately pulled over. The check engine light came on, and I shut the car off. Coolant was all over the place leading me to believe the water pump failed. I had it towed to my house, and now I will have it towed to the shop to get fixed. I would like to have them repair the timing belt and water pump. However, I am afraid that the valves were beaten to a pulp and now I will need a new engine. I was only going 35 mph when it happened. What are the odds that my valves were smashed up, and is there anything I can do to check them before I pay for a timing belt/water pump repair?
View 19 Replies3300 miles in, and my brake pedal is extremely hard/stiff when I attempt to start the car. I don't have issues getting it to turn on, but it literally moves maybe 1/4 inch at most. It just randomly started doing this.
View 10 RepliesI brought my 2004 VW Touareg V6(83k miles) to the dealer for a recall on the ignition call and much to my surprise, was presented with a diagnosis of a $6,000 problem! The dealer told me that the computer read some codes which say that the timing chain is stretched and needs to be replaced. They said it will take 4-5 days and should be done asap so it doesn't "go out", because if it does, it's an even more expensive problem. I took the car to another VW repair shop and they asked me if I heard any noised when I start it cold (like pebbles in a bucket). I have not had any problems like that at all, so they said I shouldn't worry until I start getting symptoms. They also said there is no recommended point (like 90,000 miles) when VW recommends the change, so it really shouldn't be a common problem. I want to do the right thing, but I don't want to rush into an expensive repair if it isn't necessary.
View 1 RepliesI had the belts changed on my 2004 Infiniti G35 6-Speed Sedan according to the mechanics advice (they were cracked quite a bit). Now that they're changed they make an annoying squeaking noise which is particularly awful when idling with my windows open. When I took it back, he said the pulleys need to be replaced and they are already at maximum tension. They did not squeak before the replacement. Is he right? Or did he just put in a belt that's longer than it should be?
View 4 RepliesI've got a 2009 Azera with 58k. When I'm backing out of the driveway, I start to hear a low squeaking noise right as I'm turning the wheel. It happens right before I get a squeak I recognize as the breaks, so I know it is not that. It only happens when the engine is cold and typically the first or second time I try to turn at low speeds when I'm driving the car. I've had it also happen when I'm pulling out of a parking space at the garage at work.
View 2 RepliesOver the last few weeks, my '12 Azera has developed some sort of noise I assume to be from the suspension, particularly on the right front. When the car sits for a long amount of time, there is a bumping/rattling noise when driving it. It takes a long time for it to go away. If I drive it a bit, turn it off for a bit, then drive it again, it won't do it any more.
I'm thinking it could be the strut mount bearing. I had a GM car that did the same thing and that was the problem. They replaced the strut mount and never did it again.
My ford taurus 1995 started squeaking really loudly. I think it is probably a belt and I plan to take it to a mechanic as soon as possible. No one is open on Sundays to look at it and I need to use the car. Would it be safe to use it for a couple days? Someone told me it could be the serpentine belt. Is there any other thing which could cause this noise?
View 17 RepliesJust picked up my 2013 Tech. Noticed a whistling sound at the rear window at 50 mph. It is constant at that speed. If i press the recirculate air button to recirculate the air in the cabin it stops. Bring in fresh air and the noise it there again... I sat in the back seat today and tried to find where it was coming from, not able to pinpoint but it is definitely around the back window.

View 4 RepliesI'm tired of being told my 37,000 rattle trap is normal. Everytime I start this car a work there are people in the parking lot, how embarrassing it is. Rattle, sounds like parts flying around inside the motor. But this is normal, go out on the lot and start every new Azera on the lot, no noise at all, but it's normal.
Found this link, others are having this and we need to start making more noise just like our cars. Those of you who don't hear this you either have too low miles so far or you don't put your windows down when starting the car.

I have a 2012 Azera and when I enter and exit the vehicle, the driver seat will automatically move forward and backward. I have noticed that it just started making a loud clicking noise when moving forward and backward. Is this a motor issue, something under the seat, or maybe just a lubricant issue?
View 21 RepliesI just took delivery of a 2015 pewter gray base azera. It is my second one as I purchased a leftover 2013 last year. The sonatas had to go just not comfortable enough for me. Between 1000-1500 rpm whether in motion or in park I get a sound like an owl hooting. my 2013 does not do it.i can make it do it any time I want. This is really annoying in traffic it actually can be heard with the radio on. the dealer said it is normal and let me drive another new one on a test drive and it does it too. Almost sounds like it could be a harmonic noise in the intake or exhaust. Going to see if I can pinpoint it this weekend. I am very disappointed as my 2013 has 36k on it and other than the rattle at start up no issues.

It occurs intermittently and sometimes doesn't occur at all. The more the car is warmed up, the more often it seems to occur. Techs at Hyundai couldn't figure it out. They made me replace the rotors and pads with OEM parts and surprise, surprise, the same exact noise is occurring. I don't see how it can be wheel bearings...there is no rumbling noise or roughness at all. But the squeaking is killing me.
So I started hearing these random squeaking noises coming from the front suspension its what it sounds like. This only happens thou when i drive up into a drive way that is slanted. Or any kind of slow making slanted turns (~5-10mph)
I'm not 100% positive but it sounds like the suspension because it only makes noise when the car moves a little when ever i go up a drive way.
The timing belt broke on my aveo, destroying the engine. I replaced the engine with a used one. Now I get the car back on the road and the automatic transmission won't shift from 3rd gear into 4th. Is it possible this problem was caused when the new engine was installed, or the transmission was damaged when the timing belt broke?
View 4 RepliesSo, I recently had my 4th oil change done at the dealer, just under 36k miles. Same dealer that has done /all/ service on my 2011. They used the same parts and materials as always, but this time there is a very noticeable "typewriter" sort of noise at idle. Much louder than the normal chatter, and not consistent - tick.... tick-tick... tick.... tick... tick tick tick... etc. The diesel tech shrugged it off: "Ford says it's nothing to worry about." As it has never happened before, and it sounded a /lot/ like lifter noise resulting from a low-oil condition, I asked him to put in another quart. He did, and the noise went away. Mostly.
Now I've only driven about 75 miles since the oil change, but the last time I drove it, I had the windows down and noticed what sounded like lifter noise again. Not the same pattern at idle. This time, it was under light acceleration and the frequency increased with engine speed. It's going back to the dealer in the morning. Not only for this, they're also on their third attempt in the past 2 weeks at fixing a squeak in the dash. But while it's in, I want this noise to go away.
In spite of all the posts about how this sort of noise it typical with new oil, and goes away in 10-2000 miles, I'm concerned. Nothing has changed other than the fresh oil and filter. In the last 3 oil changes, this condition never existed. Am I being reasonable?
Don't the stock brake pads go for more than 12k miles? The brakes are squeaking when I first pull out of my driveway and after a while it goes away, but at lower speeds (stop and go traffic) they still squeal a little bit, but when I am braking at higher speeds I don't hear anything. about a year ago my friend drove my car with the E-Brake up for about a mile. Could it be that because my rear drums are worn that my front brakes are getting worked more? But when I pull my E-brake up it still works fine without going up too much.
View 7 Replies2010 LE is having a brake squealing issue. The car only has 35,000 miles and the pads are at about 50% life left. I cleaned everything and lubed everything and they are still squealing. I would hate to have to replace the front brakes this early especially when the pads are only half worn. They are the factory pads and rotors btw.

White with chestnut, 23k miles. Went 12 rounds with the dealer . We finally came to an agreement.
Only one complaint with it. The steering is lousy. Feels numb, wanders, constant attention needed. Very tiring.
Wanted an Azera when I bought the Sonata, but price to much. So while I'm disappointed with the handling, (even the wife noticed the steering ) the rest of the car lives up to expectations.
I started my car last evening and it hesitated and balked and the check engine light came on. It started fine this morning, but would not go above 30mph even with accelerator down all the way. I checked the diagnostic codes from Bluelink and it said there is a possible condition with my Engine Control System and should be checked soon. The car only has 4,000 miles and has been fine until now.
