Went looking at replacing the fuse for both power outlets, Couldn't find it. Checked under dash and engine compartment. Checked them all since I didn't know which one was it. Where to look? Everything else works fine on the car. radio, lights, all

View 2 RepliesHave a 2005 prius with 71,000 miles, DVD nav and etc. Just 2 days ago the 120v cigarette outlet stopped working, then tried the one in the center counsel and it worked for like a second. Now both don't work.
Did research and heard it could be fuses. Replaces both 15A fuses that are under the driver side dash/steering wheel section. Still outlets will not work. Tried replacing the 25a fuse that I saw works in conjunction with both 15a and still nothing. I then read in some toyotas, and other cars that the outlet itself can be shorted out.
So question, is there some other fuse I'm missing, or something else to check. I tried pushing the connectors on the front passenger outlet to see if they were loose and still won't work. Do I need to replace the outlet itself. Can I just get a new one and unplug the old and plug a new one in. Looks like it comes right out? I need at least one outlet to work and am short on cash to have the dealer do it.
I plugged in a 12V-to-AC converter (that I use to power my laptop) into the 12V outlet in the dash. The green power indicator led came on for about 1/2 a second and then went out. Thinking the issues was with the converter, I plugged my cell phone charger back into the outlet, only to find that it also wouldn't work (It had been working fine all day). I then tried it in each of the other outlets (back of the center console/trunk) with the same results. I figured it was a blown fuse, even though I'd never had an issue with the converter before. I look in the owner's manual to see which of the three locations held the fuse. It indicated that it was the one on the passenger end of the dash.
Once I had removed the panel, I went to the slot indicated in the manual only to find that there was no fuse at all! Of course, I double-checked the manual, and then proceeded to find the same thing with the fuses for the other two outlets. It doesn't appear like the slots are even set up for a fuse, as there's only metal on one side of the slot.
Thinking that the manual could just be wrong, I checked each and every fuse in all three panels. All looked fine. Still, none of the outlets are getting power.
The manual is somewhat unclear on this point. For 2015 SFS, are the interior power outlets (cig/lighters) constantly powered, even when the car is turned off?
View 10 RepliesToday I noticed that the 12 volt power outlets on my 2011 Sonata shutoff when the vehicle shuts off. On my old car the cigarette lighter would shut off, but not the power outlet. Is there anyway to make them stay on when the car shuts off? It is nice to be able to leave my phone in the car to charge.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2007 with 68k miles, and both the power outlet under the radio area-passenger side and the one in the console just stopped working (I use them to power my GPS and to charge my iPhone and iPad). From poking around this site, I think this could be because of blown fuses, but it seems strange that both fuses would go at the same time.

View 1 RepliesThis procedure explains how to remove the driver side, rear door panel, test the power window motor and switch and replace the power window regulator assembly.
Tools Required: #2 Philips screwdriver, small slot screwdriver, 10mm socket wrench, jumper cables, set of test leads with alligator clips, DC voltmeter.
Cost: In the end, I did not end up buying a new window regulator assembly, but I think a "Dorman 741-356 Rear Driver Side Replacement Power Window Regulator with Motor for Toyota Camry" would work.
1. Locate the anchor (red arrow). Push the center in and then pry the anchor out with a slot screwdriver.
2. Remove ashtray, pry and remove the rubber liner and remove the #2 Phillips screw.
3. While pulling the door handle, carefully pry the plastic trim piece away from the door handle bezel and remove the #2 Phillips screw.
4. Pushing the door trim piece forward, pry the rear upward. Note that there is a plastic tab (red arrow) at the front of this trim piece, so it is necessary to lift it from the back to avoid breaking it.
5. Squeeze the electrical connector to remove it from the socket and then set the trim piece/switch assembly aside.
6. Remove #2 Phillips screw (red arrow).
7. Remove two #2 Philips screws (circled in red) at the bottom of the door.
8. Grasp the bottom of the door panel with your fingertips and gently, but firmly pull outward to disengage the 9 snaps on the door.
9. Lift the door panel upward to unhook it from the door. Carefully set the door panel on the ground.
10.Pull the white plastic cable guide out of the sheet metal holder and rotate the cable housing to disengage the cable from the mechanism. Pull the green plastic cable guide out of the sheet metal holder and rotate the cable housing to disengage the cable from the mechanism. Gently set the door panel aside. %
2005 camry ... How do i replace the dash power outlet? I have the heating and air panel out and the bottom of the outlet panel unsnapped. I can't figure out how the top comes loose.

Consequently, it doesn't hold my ipod car adapters or car chargers. What are my options? Will I be able to get an OEM part? Is it worth it or will a generic part suffice?

View 6 RepliesSo I have a really weird problem. The cigarette lighter in my 97 Ford Escort wasn't working, so I thought I'd check the fuse. Got under the dash, pulled the fuse, sure enough, it was blown. So I threw a new 20A in there. I put my usb charger back in the cigarette lighter, and had to wiggle it a little bit to get it to work, but it worked. (It's always been like this, the actual housing is probably shorting out, which could be the cause of the blown fuse, i Know lol)
So I turn off the car and walk back in the house. 10 minutes later I come back out to the car, and the light on the usb charger is still on, as is the RADIO. It simply won't turn off! No key in the ignition, nothing. But the radio is still on, and the cigarette lighter still has power.
So out of curiosity, I pulled the new fuse I just put in. The radio turned off. But get this. The cigarette lighter still works. I think it may have been working the whole time, but I for some reason was never able to wiggle it just right to get it to work. So the cigarette lighter seems to have no change with or without the fuse, but the radio will be stuck on all the time if there is a fuse in this spot.
