I bought a 2008 Camry SE V6 in June. So far, nice car. I even made a point to find an SE with a sunroof. However, the sunroof rattles when it's open. Of course it does. Full open or halfway open does not change the rattle much.
I've been researching this problem online since June, and I am not finding any definitive answers on how to stop the rattle.
I have a 2006 Saturn Vue and if drive with the sunroof open and the driver side window open I get periodic thumps or knocks from below the front seats or the dashboard (not really sure where it is coming from).
If I open additional windows or close the driver side window it goes away. I am sure it is an air flow issue.
I have heard that there is a way to program the FOB so that when you hold down the UNLOCK key for a few seconds the windows and sunroof opens.
is there a way to program this ourselves? Or is this only available at the dealer, and if so, will there be a cost associated with it?
I have a weird situation, when I open the sunroof then try to close it, it slides to the middle then opens again. After four trials the sunroof switches to manual then I close it manually.
View 3 RepliesMy 2007 Camry has developed a loud popping noise when sliding the sunroof open. It's as though the sunroof is getting caught under the vehicle roof before it moves to slide open. The motor labors pushing the sunroof past vehicle roof. I see no obvious obstruction. The sunroof makes no noise when going to the tilt position. I have tried the initialize process, but the problem persists.
View 14 RepliesToyota camry SE 2012. The sunroof is stuck on the open position. It is fully open and the motor does not make any noise. The fuse is ok. Nothing seems stuck on the track just from a quick glance. I am hoping to find a way to manually close it if it is possible.

How to get it to close until I can take it to the dealership? The only way it stopped is after I turned the car off and now its halfway open.
View 2 RepliesI was talking to a coworker of mine this morning about the unseasonably cold weather we have been having in Atlanta the last few days, and she said that she left her sunroof open during a storm that we had the other day and now her heated seats aren't working. She has an XLE with leather heated seats. Blew a fuse perhaps? Or possibly destroyed the heating mechanism? Or maybe just the switch itself? Both seats are not working. The clock, radio, nav, etc are all working so its not the fuse. Also, the lights on the switches themselves are working so they seem to be ok.

View 3 RepliesAfter the dealer did some adjustments because they also heard vibrations, I'm still hearing rattles when on rough roads. There is a TSB but that is on the main rails with very loud noises. But this is not it.
This is just vibrating sound. Metal sounding. It only is audible with the visor open and glass closed. Not constant just a quick vibrate on the rough patches. Never had a car do this.
2013 GS350 Luxury
So randomly my sunroof has begun to rattle terribly when driving at 70+. It only rattles when closed, if I have it in the "up" position there is no rattle but obv then u get road noise.
I looked as well as I could down into the tracks and felt around and couldn't see or feel any loose screws or anything so I'm stumped.
2008 Camry SE V6 with sunroof ticking / creaking / moonroof structure noise. Car has 50K miles on it. Has been in 1 slight driver side scrape accident but no crunching. Dealer says it's about 6.5 hrs labor to fix since my car is way passed the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. TSB doesn't extend it at all.

It only happens when the roof is open and it's as if a screw is a little loose.
View 4 RepliesI was driving to work this morning and went to open my sunroof and as I always do I hit the button and it opens to a point, then I hold the button down and it opens another inch or so. I realized I always do that, open it that little extra.
My curiosity is why doesn't it just open all the way? What's the point of that little extra bit? I am sure it has something to do with air flow.
My car has been acting up lately I don't know what's wrong with it but everytime I turn it on the sun roof will open half way I don't know y or sometimes interior lights wont work or ill have trouble opening the gas tank ... but the worse is that it just started raining a couple days ago and now my sun roof started doing, why?

I have purchased a used 2006 GS430, The sunroof never worked since I had taken ownership the sunroof does not open or tilt not a sound, I checked the fuse under the drivers dash and looked at what looks like a main fuse (#67) in the engine compartment alongside the battery both fuses looked good and I have disconnected the battery for 30 minutes to reset any minor faults, I have also tried holding the sunroof buttons for 30 seconds and still nothing.
View 10 RepliesHaving issues with a creaking panoramic sunroof while its open? Its whenever i go over any bumps. I had the slight issue while it was closed but i applied some silicone to the wind visor and that prevents it from creaking while closed. Now the open issue.
View 2 RepliesDrove to work today with the sunroof open doing 75 mph. With it open all the way, there was a loud sound similar to a vehicle without a muffler or a loud revving engine. When I closed it to about 2/3's open, it stopped.
View 8 Replies2004 GLI ... Venting opens but when I turn the knob to open the sunroof completely, I can hear and see that it wants to open but it stays neutral and wont open up. I attempted the manual crank. Again, I can get it to vent manually, but when I turn the allan key the other way to fully open the roof, it will go as far as moving just below the roof line, but it will not continue to open. I'm concerned if I crank on it too hard, something will break.

I have replace/ and calibrated replace the switch now I get the fallowing.
When I put it to open all the way, it goes in to vent mode ( the back opens up), ( when i put it close it closes fine).
When i put in vent the sunroof slide back 1/4 of the way. when I try to close it closes and opens back to 1/4 open. I have to close it and press the button in to close it.
