Last year my oem remote starter worked great. This year when I start the car with the remote start the climate controls do not power on until I insert the key and turn it. I've pulled just about every fuse out, in and under the hood and can't find the problem. Not sure where to go from here.

I have an XLT without the message center. Do I have the manual temperature setting for when the remote starter is used? It has not worked either way as far as i can tell but it has also been very mild temps in illinois at 55-65 in the morning.
If I do have it, is it a setting i must engage somehow? I looked in the manual but could not seem to find anything.
Can I use the remote climate control switch to heat the cabin during cold mornings as well as cool the cabin during hot summer days?
View 8 RepliesWas driving the last week and happened to look down and notice the display for my climate controls was completely black. They were still running at whatever I had them last set at but couldn't change anything or turn the system off. Pulled into a parking lot, turned the truck off then started it again and everything was working fine.
Couple days later, was driving down the road again, glanced down and now my climate display, stereo display and odometer display were all black but once again everything was still functioning, just couldn't change anything. Turned my wipers on to check those, heard a little click, and all the displays popped back on like normal???? Wipers worked just fine too.
I'm assuming a short somewhere but wouldn't even know where to start to look or if it's even within my limited skill set to try and track down.
As the topic line states, would you put some type of coating on the audio/climate remote control to prevent the rubber from wearing out? I can envision if I'm using it frequently, over time, the rubber part is going to wear out.

The dealer informed me at that time that the range was about 90 feet and that I be better with a jobber remote starter... I did stick with the Toyota because I didnt want another remote transmitter key with my keyfob and that the range was not a problem for me...
And winter came and the remote starter was working fine except that on one pretty cold winter morning it did not...and the next morning. It took a while for the dealer to find the problem...
My remote starter didn't want to start the car this morning. It's been working fine up until today when the temperature dropped to 5-F last night. I sat in the car and used the remote start to see what was going on, and it fired up the motor for a second or so, then it shut down again right away. My in-car test was the 3rd start attempt.. When I pushed the in-dash start button, the car started just fine..
Any insights as to why the remote starter doesn't seem to like the cold? The entire reason I purchased that option was to avoid going outside when it was that cold.. and if that's when it doesn't work....
The only time I want to use my remote starter is when the temperature is below 10 degrees F. We've been having a nice cold winter where I live and have had more than a few morning of 10 to 20 degrees below zero. I let the car warm up for a few minutes to get warmish oil circulating before driving away.
The problem I've been having is when I try to use my remote starter, the engine will turn over for maybe a half second and then nothing. I've tried hitting the buttons again, and it does the same thing. Then I walk out and get in the car and it always fires right up.
When the temperature is warmer I've used the remote starter and had no problems. It seems to be just a cold weather issue.
When I purchased my car last year I ordered it with the remote starter. It works great unless the weather is 12 degrees or colder, then it will not start the car. This morning I tried to remote start, it started it for 2 seconds then shut off, I did it again with the same result. I then went out and physically started the car and went back inside only to go out 15 minutes later to find the car stopped running but the radio was still playing. I then restarted the car and again went back inside 15 minutes later the car this time it was still running and was just starting to melt the ice on the windows. I have had issues in the past with the remote starter not working but today I actually went to the door and listened to what it was doing.

View 5 RepliesThe factory stereo in my Elantra 2015 sedan does not have bluetooth and the steering wheel does not have the audio controls on the left side. I want to replace the factory stereo with a bluetooth stereo and add audio controls to the steering wheel. If I get the same audio controls that are on Elantras with bluetooth will they work? Is the wiring or wiring harness present for the audio controls? Would the car computer have to be reprogrammed?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2008 3.3 base model in which the climate controls wont change exhaust location. That is to say, it is stuck on bi-level right now. Recirculation still functions.
At least a year ago, it started making an unusual fast clicking/grinding noise whenever I switched from defrost or bi-level to a vent positions. The noise can be best described as something you would expect to hear from a Lego electric motor. It didn't sound serious and it only made this noise a few seconds as the vent changed. Recently, it remained in the vent position and would not move to defrost. Then, suddenly one day it changed to bi-level and has never made a noise or changed position since.
Summer heat here is unbearable and I need the A/C to blow out the vents so I want to manually change the position if I cannot fix the problem altogether. Just don't know if this is vacuum controlled or an electric servo and where it may be located or how much effort to get to it.
When you press your remote, trunk will stay closed and won't open. Must use the lever under the seat for opening it. What can cause this issue.
Battery is new. Also there is some another issue, didn't look it yet, one of the plate lamp is not working while trunk is closed. When you lift up your trunk it will begin work, when you close - no work.I assume there is some wire connection problem, but how it might affect the opening a trunk?
I was wondering if it would be just a plug and play to exchange manual a/c controls to automatic climate control thingie. Id expect CAN coding but im just wondering if i could just bolt on and code or is there way much more to it like additional control module and what not .... maybe even not possible at all.

After charging the battery and getting it running, when I go to the climate control on the touchscreen, I don't get any climate controls. I get the error "Please check air conditioner connection". Any quick way for me to reset or rectify this or do I need to go to the dealer? This error is a result of a dead battery?
View 1 RepliesRecently purchased a 2016 Elantra. All was working well with car. Now, all of a sudden, when I turn on car via remote start the heater isnt coming on like it did before. It wont turn on until I put key in ignition. I had to get a new remote recently and seems like thats when it started to happen, but I cant be sure. Is it possible the remote was programmed incorrectly? Or is it more likely a fuse or relay issue?
