Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 3 Inch Rear Blocks Installation?

Mar 6, 2016

Who has installed 3" blocks in the rear. I've been working out of town for a few months and have scraped up a little extra money. With that said, I would like to add a leveling kit and rear blocks to my truck when I get home. I'm aware that adding blocks will increase axle wrap when accelerating hard, but I rarely tow and really don't beat on my truck that often.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2014 F350 - Changing Rear Blocks?

I have a 2014 F350 (specs in my signature) and I want to change the 4" rear blocks out for F250 2" blocks to lower the rear of the truck.

Looks like a fairly straight forward replacement but I have a few questions.

Will the shocks need to be replaced? I do eventuality want to replace them as the stock ones are not that great but I only have 2500 miles on them.

When I do order new shocks for my truck after the changing the blocks do I order shocks for a F250?

I would like to go OEM parts for this but I am having trouble finding the blocks and u-bolts that I need. What are the part numbers for these?

Anything else I should know about to do this swap?

Lexus IS 2014+ :: Difference Between 17 Inch And 18 Inch Wheels On IS250?

I have driven two Lexus IS 250's with the standard 17" wheels. I am considering trading up to the 2014 model, which appears to often come with 18" wheels on the AWD model (which is what I am looking for).

What differences can I expect on the 18" wheels vs. what the 17" gives now?

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2004 - Stereo Installation?

I pulled out my Pioneer stereo from my 2004 before trading it in for the new 2012. From all my research and all, it should hook right up but I cannot get a switchable power supply at the harness. I can find one in the harness for the heater but do not want to cut into that one. What have you other Truckers done? Here is the wire harness I am working with. The Red is supposed to go the switchable power, yellow to constant and black to ground. The red from the stereo to the harness wire will NOT power the unit. I can get the stereo working if I put the red wire to the constant (yellow) but then the stereo will not turn off.

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Factory Alarms Installation?

I have a question/clarification about factory-installed alarms. My window sticker indicates a perimeter alarm and securilock pass anti-theft. Additionally, the dealer wanted me to pay for an additional alarm. (I think), which I told him to include in the deal. The question is, what do these alarms specifically do?

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: OEM Remote Start Installation?

I am new to the F150 section. I come from the 7.3L Powerstroke area of the form, but am happy to have my new F150. Back in the day I made lots of F250 and 7.3L how to videos. I hope to do lots of videos on the F150 as well.

My first task was to add OEM Remote Start. I can't take credit for any of the information I've used in the video, I just assembled it onto YouTube! Trying to add OEM remote start.

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Window Rain Deflectors / Guards Installation

I just installed a wet of weather tech (in channel) window rain deflectors/guards. the rear window deflector came with adhesive strips but not the fronts. Installation instructions say to leave windows up for 48 hours... My question about them is what is actually keeping the front deflectors in and seated? I've used the seating tool but dont understand how they can stay in the channel locked in when there's clearance on them.

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Winch Mount Installation - Removal Of Plastic Molding?

Installed the Rough Country winch mount yesterday. One hour, by myself. Used a floor jack to lift it in place.

Only problem was removing the plastic molding which came in the spot the fairlead will be. Just a small rectangular plastic molding with a couple of bars down the middle for looks. It had two screws on top edge, and two pushpins on bottom , but also was molded with two catches on each side on the back I did not see. When I figured it out, and squeezed with just my fingers, little too hard and snapped one catch on each side. They slide into a slot and catch but wont be doing that ever again. Oh well.

As for mount, solid and easy to install. I used hand tools as the air gun would only hit one of the bolts for the front tow hooks. The other was blocked by plastic molding. No big deal.

Ford Excursion :: Rear Springs Versus Blocks?

I'm going to be installing a 4" lift on my truck and was wondering what the pros and cons are using springs or blocks. I have the option of going with either the pro comp 22210/22415 springs or 22210 with a 5" block. With the block I'd be saving around $200 but I guess my main concern is ride quality. Dont know if the stock rear springs have issues like the front do. I'm probably going to go all spring but it would be nice to save a few bucks.

Ford Excursion :: Spring Mod Update - Blocks In Rear Or Springs On Axle?

Finally pulling the trigger on some springs so I can get this work done, Tousely prices were great on the W's compared to local dealers. Here are some questions.

1. I am planning to go with the W springs up front.

2. Can I still use the B for the rear mod, or do I need C's to keep it level? (Or F's)

3. Do I need blocks in the rear, or just the springs on the axle?

4. Do I need the 2" shackle up front?

5. I have dual Fox shocks that came with the ex when I bought it. The prior owner said they ran a little rough. Are they able to be re-valved, or is it cheaper to go with Bilstein?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2015 - Rear Blocks 4 Inches - Normal?

I've done a ton of searches and everyone talks about the 250 rear blocks being 2 inches. I got under my truck the other night and my factory blocks measured to just shy of 4 inches. It seems like everyone says that those blocks only come with the 350s...

is there some sort of package that I might have to come factory with the larger rear blocks?

I recently purchased a Rear Bumper Protector for 2010-2014 Toyota Prius for my 2014 PIP. Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Rear Defroster Not Working?

For the second time in the last 24 months, my rear defroster doesn't seem to be working. The first time I took it into the dealer and under warranty, they had to replace the entire rear window. The side view mirror defrosters still worked and they still work now. It just seems that the rear isn't working again and this time my warranty has run out.

Should I take it back to the dealer and hope they honor their work? My 3yr/36k expired 4 months ago. How could I even test that it is working? I've only had to use it 2 or 3x since last Feb. and that's when I noticed it doesn't seem to be working. I only had to use it for short trips so the main defroster in the cab eventually defrosted the rear window. The weather is warmer so now I won't have as many chances to have it fogged up.
