What this means, how can I fix it? No technical jargon or abbreviations that I will not understand. The error code is for a 2006 F-250 6.0L Diesel automatic. I have a tow controller installed it came with the truck when it was new.
View 7 RepliesEngine light and error code for tps occasionally comes on , then stays off a while. parts store said it was ok (shows full range) , but ford has an update for computer to fix. engine is v10 and parts store erased code and it hasnt come back. the only indication that something was wrong is the light coming on and once on the interstate at high speed , then the off ramp slow down, the engine seemed to want to stall as if engine not matching actual speed for a few seconds, then it was ok again. I was out of town and the mechanic that looked at it told me to go to Ford for an update. He tested the tps and said it was ok.
View 2 Replies2006 F-250 6.0... I'm getting a P0470 error code and no boost, The unison ring is free and clear, the Turbo will not create boost till about 2000 RPM on the road. If I unplug the VGT there is no change in the turbo.
When the vehicle is started there is no tone change in the exhaust. This just started after I replaced a dummy plug in the oil rail. I checked all the connectors as well. I cleaned the EBP and tube.
So I just bought a 2003 f250 v10 and I've plugged in my code reader and it couldn't get any info, so I took it to auto zone and they got an error code. I took a test lite to each little connection on the port with the ignition on and only got power to some of the metal connections on the port. So I'm wondering if all the little connections should have power? If so where should I start to look to find the problem?
View 5 RepliesOD light flashes on my 2000 F450 7.3 but still runs and drives shifts fine. If i turn o/d off before i get going then it won't throw the code and start flashing at all. I am going to check the harness again to see if there are any bad wires. If not is it usually a bad solenoid pack i can just swap it out and fix the problem? I have to replace the pan soon so when I do if I need to replace the pack I'd like to do it then.
View 4 Replies2005 F350 crew cab with 6.0 currently cranks but no start with a P2291 error code. Using scanguage 2 it shows icp 0, IPR 67.7, FICM 47.5 while cranking. Disconnected ICP and still no start. removed icp and hooked up air and I do not hear/see any signs of air leaking. When I disconnect the air it then whooshes out. About 2 months ago got a #1 cylinder contribution error code and changed out that injector and it has ran fine up until this issue.
Can this be a IPR? I am leading towards the HPOP, but as it costs a pretty penny would really love to make sure I tried every other avenue.
I have 197K on it, and 2 years ago did a EGR cooler delete. In May this year replaced the oil cooler, and then in August changed out the #1 fuel injector.
Oil cooler screen was broken. Cleaned the entire reservoir out. Could this just be a clogged IPR? or seeing the change while cranking an indication that it is working?
I have an '06 F350 dually with a 6.0 diesel. I bought this used about 5 years ago and for the most part have loved it. i would always smile on the inside when i heard people bash the 6.0...i thought i got lucky....until today.
140k miles. recent oil change. all is swell...until this morning. Stick in key and turn it. glow plug indicator comes on...all lights come on for a few second....wrench, abs, dtc etc....wrench shuts off...glow plug light comes on...4 or 5 seconds later wrench light comes back on....turn key and NO CRANK.
All fuses are fine...starter cranks if i jump the solenoid...but it won't start. Miles to empty and everything else is just dashes hit the OBD and it says "engine sensor data error"/ "trans temp error" ...
I have a 2006 F-350. I got a code p2623 ipr circuit open. I ordered a new one and currently waiting on it. I pulled the old one and the screen has been replaced already. How often do these valves go bad? Is there anything else I should check?
View 6 RepliesMy truck started acting up the other day with a flashing Tow/Haul light and CEL. The codes for the transmission were P0752 and P2700. I swapped out the SSPC-A solenoid unhooked the batteries for an hour and there was no change.
I hooked up a 100lb oil pressure gauge to the 1/8"npt outlet on the side of the tranny. At startup it immediately pegged the gauge....forever, lol. The gauge is toast now. Upon starting is has oil pressure visible in the see through line of the oil pressure gauge. But....if you tap the throttle in park for a second, the line looses pressure (by seeing the oil go back toward the transmission). Without pressure, when you put it in drive, it takes about 5 seconds at idle to build pressure and engage. If you give it the slightest throttle before engagement, it won't engage.
Also, as probably expected, the transmission hunts a bit with rough shifting.
CEL came on last night, OBD code PO420, truck is an 06 f250,5.4? Btw, truck running rough, no power on acceleration, in gear at idle, runs rough....
View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 f-350 6.0 and i went to fill up my truck with diesel. After that the truck did not start. Currently has the code p2285 - injector control pressure sensor circuit low. I tried disconnecting sensor, still no start.
I have the torque pro app and another 6.0 that I use for comparison. Check power at ficm 48 volt, flp 11.5v, FVP 11.5v. Hpop while cranking shows 1400 psi. removed oil filter and see low pressure oil ok, fills up reservoir. ipr at crank about 65%. fuel filter full of fuel.
Replaced the dummy plug on passenger side because originally hpop was very low psi 12. after replacement it went up to 1400 on cranking. What should I be looking at next, should I be removing ipr? should i be looking at crank sensor or cam sensor? Just installed 2 new batteries also because my dad kept cranking the truck until it died.
Checked to make sure fuel cut off relay not triggered, Ok. The truck has been having long cranks before it died. Also right now the injector cycling is 10 seconds long while on my other 6.0 it is about 4.
2005 V-10... I've found some info on the "fuel level data error" but thought there must be more on this. In the last month or so I get the error on the message center and the fuel gauge goes to E. Happened a couple times here and there and then the CEL has come on. Have nto been able to get the CEL to go out because it happens too often now.
Have tried a couple bottles of Techron because that is suppose to fix it but no luck after about 150 miles. Can't find any loose wires/connectors. Am ready to give up and drop the tank. Is the sensor separate or part of the pump assy? Also don't see alot on dropping the tank on SDs. Any tips?
99 F250 Super Duty 5.4 has a p7147 error. Traced all wiring cant find any short. Bought reman solenoid pack # are f81p-7g391-cb with green cover my old one in trans is f81p-7g391-ba with blue cover. Are these interchangeable? Have tried to read up on pwm & nonpwm and getting confused.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 F-550 XL truck, I had a problem with an open injector4 and was forced to replace the engine, later, I had a problem while installing an OLEP kit, misplaced the hose and killed the engine (...i know... ) so, I changed 3/4 of the engine, just mechanical parts and reused the wires and cables, now the check engine light is ON with an oil pressure error, replaced the sensor and the error remains, replaced the computer and guess what ...again, the same error. What might be going on?...
View 1 RepliesMy F250 is displaying error messages for the hill descent/advance trac yet again. My truck was in the shop over 7 times about 6 months ago when my instrument cluster would go crazy. Every warning possible on the display, and once you killed the engine it wouldn't start until the dealer cleared the codes...once they flew in an engineer he fixed it within a couple hour timeframe, and I thought that nightmare was over.
View 2 RepliesI have a new to me 2011 f350 diesel lariat. It came with 18" wheels with the TPMS that I recently sold and purchased a set of 20" 2015 wheels which also have the tpms in them. I am getting the error on my information cluster. I've tried to reset the tpms using the owners manual to no avail. I can get it to go into the learn mode but when I start letting the air out of the first tire the air just keeps coming out and it won't register.
View 4 RepliesMy truck is back in the shop for a third time for the same problem and the dealer is really clueless about anything. Here are the alarms I get when trying to start( Low Oil Pressure, Service AdvanceTrac, Engine Overtemp, Wrench Icon and Starting System Fault.)
When trying remote start nothing happens then the horns honks after a couple of minutes.

July 21, 2015 - Vehicle would not start, multiple alarms going off and dashboard has all icons showing. Towed vehicle in around 0700. Truck stayed in the shop overnight. Resolutions was told that the codes was reset and battery cable was tighten. I ask why the battery was loose when it was just in the shop for routine maintenance and it was signed off that it was good to go. I also told the service representative that I felt this didn't not solve my problem as it was just a quick fix.
Sept 4, 2015 - Problem is back, same symptoms, truck not starting, alarms going off, dashboard has all icons showing. Towed vehicle in around 1700. Vehicle stay in the shop for a week and was picked up around 1800 on Sept 11, 2015. Service representative stated they replaced the PCM and reprogrammed the keys.
Sept 12, 2015 - Yep you guess it, same problem and not even a full 24 hours from when the vehicle was towed to the dealership again. Truck wont start, same symptoms, alarms going off, all icons showing. Towed vehicle in around 0900. Vehicle would start now but check engine light is on. I have an inclination that all that will be done is to reset the codes.

Every time I touch the brakes I now get a very annoying beep and an error message that says "wiring fault on trailer." I don't have a trailer hooked up so not for sure what's going on. The error message on the console I can live with but that loud beeping is driving me crazy.
If you hit the brake and keep the pedal depressed, then you only get the initial beep and then it goes away. The problem for me is I live north of Dallas so if I'm in traffic then I'm constantly hitting the brakes. I called my dealer today so I'll wait to hear what they have to say.
I just got my 2005 F250 diesel out of the shop. The errors codes P0299 and P2263 were listed on the computer. The service done, was to clean carbon from turobo charger and service the EGR valve. I talked with the mechanic and he recommended that I use Cetane Booster Additive. What would the Cetane Booster do? How would it prevent the carbon build-up in the turbocharger? What should I do to prevent turbocharger carbon build-up?
View 3 RepliesI've got an intermittent Trailer Wiring Error message that started appearing with a trailer connected on my '11 F250.
Brakes and lights work OK on the trailer, I thought I had read on the board here that there was a TSB for this, but I cannot find it.
Trying to perform master reset on sync because, from the title, phone button inoperative, No Aux In, and attempting to connect the ipod, you get "connection error see dealer".
The Owner's manual indicates Fuse 40 protects Sync, GPS and Sirius, so I figure that is the one. When you pull 40 you still have gps and Sirius, so I figure Sync must still have power also. So, what fuse powers the sync module?
