I just recently replaced my radiator and cold air intake. right after I did and I drove it, my car was idling high at 1.5 and the brakes feel like they are going out. I am kind of confused as to how this is even related.

View 17 RepliesI had my shift fork and 1 and 2 gear synchros replaced. Whenever i shift into second it doesnt feel as smooth as first. when i hold the clutch longer and put it into second it feels smoother.

View 11 RepliesI don't know whats wrong, last night i was driving and all of a sudden the car started to feel like it had a flat tire. The music was loud so i was sure...i pulled over and sudden my cel starts flashing. I turned the car off looked under the hood and couldn't see much (it was dark) i turned it back on and the same thing, when i accelerate there is a loud noise that seems to come from under my seat as well as a sort of stutter/putting like right before your stall out in a manual car.

View 9 RepliesSo I've been driving my tiggy with the rusted brakes from when I left it for a few months during this past winter season outdoors. I had VW check on it and they said that the only way to fix the problem is to replace the brakes (rotors and pads, I assume) for over $1k. Is there really no way to maybe scrape/sand the rusts out? Right now, when I step on the brakes, I have the pulsating feel and the car shakes when coming from a high speed. At first I thought it would go away after driving it a bit and stepping on the brakes since I did just that last year when I left it for a month during the winter season as well. If the only way is to have the brakes replaced, then I guess I have to shell out the money.

View 7 RepliesI have a 05 gli w/ 65k miles. I got new plugs gaped correctly and new coils. When I'm idling at 7-800rpm my steering wheel shakes a little and when I flip on the ac it's even more noticeable. So much the rear view mirror shakes just a tad. What do yall think it could be cause it's not that bad but I'm anal about my cars and I want it to be perfect.
View 11 RepliesI have an 03 20th ani gti golf... It has been stuttering when idling and driving... Almost sounds like a subaru... I have changed the plugs/coilpacks but still does the same thing... My check engine light comes on and blinks.. Got the codes ran and it came up... Cylinder 2 misfire and catalytic convertor threshold....
View 7 RepliesI have an 04 Gli with 85000 miles on it. I just had the clutch done with a conversion from a dual mass to a single. When the car is idling there is some chatter coming from the tranny but it stops once i press the clutch.
View 3 RepliesI just drove the GLI from pa to myrtle beach for vacation. On the way back I noticed the temp was steadily rising while idling at a red light then at a gas station. Coolant level is fine. Thermostat, water pump, thermostat, and both temp sensors were recently replaced in the last two months.
So I know none of those things are a variable. Both fans never come on. I tried turning on the ac to get them to come on. But nothing. I read as much as I could on forums to find a solution but none applied to my specific problem.
Car is completely stock besides p flow intake. Has 153000 miles I'm pretty sure everything involving fan is original.

View 2 RepliesI bought my gti about a month ago and every time I warm it up in the morning or any time it has been sitting over a long period of time the rpms sit at about 1300 until about a minute and it goes under 1k ... I am not to familiar with this issue.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 GLI tip-tronic. Bought used but the brakes are not that great. I know what the brakes should feel like since I did a swap for them on my GTI. I'm done brake pads /flush and cycled the abs pump to try an fix it. However on this car when I press the brakes I can here a humming/ buzzing noise. I'm assuming it the brake assist pump. Can this be eliminated or does it have to be replaced. The car stops just not all that great for it having the type of brakes it has.
View 1 RepliesI've got a clicking in my car right now, it's not a constant noise, but only after I've been driving awhile without using my brakes. Slowly gets louder and louder. Goes away completely when I put my brakes on for a second and starts again when I let off of the brakes. Its speed related, so its quicker when I'm going faster.
