So i hit a pretty nasty manhole on the road which hit my driver side lower control arm and caused my passenger seat and curtain airbag to deploy. no damage anywhere else. I got the airbags replaced (seat is being reupholstered atm) so i was wondering is it possible to reset the log or do i have to get a new sensor.
View 3 RepliesOn three different occasions in the past month I noticed air bag light on in my 13 supercrew. Code comes up as B0091 drivers door crash sensor. This truck was bought new and only has 13000 miles on it so my gut is telling me it's something to do with the harness that is at the door hinge. I've carefully inspected the wires and do not see any obvious broken wires but that doesn't mean one of the wires isn't breaking on the inside.

View 4 RepliesI didn't use my Jetta for about 4 weeks and now just noticed that the numbers (miles driven/total miles & time) are blank. There is just a small pixel in the middle of the left display. I checked Fusible 13 and 15 I presume (5A each) and they are ok. No codes with vag com.
View 17 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius and the for about 2 weeks now it has been spontaneously resetting its memory. I turn the car off as normal, the next time I turn it on it tells me I have no gas, the MPG and Miles have reset, all my radio station presets are cleared. It started after I installed a subwoofer ( but I also installed it a couple weeks after I got it ) I thought the sub was draining the battery, but the car starts fine and shows the battery is one bar from full. So I ruled that out.
View 15 RepliesI have an 07 LS 460 L with R-Spec data controller installed. I want to remove the data controller and go back to stock. I removed the data controller and the rear stays super low and tucked and the front stays raised like 3 fingers above the tire. So i reinstalled the data controller for now.

1.8T ... Failed smog test, then got PCV hoses repaired. Now I'm failing because the OBD readiness codes won't reset. I've driven over 100 miles and the shop that fixed it said to "just keep driving it" but that they have no other solution to get those codes to reset. Any tips to those codes to ready?
View 3 RepliesI am having problems with ALL my driver door electronics, except the fuel door. my passenger side works fine, sunroof works fine. Ive removed the door panel to look for obvious problems, like broken wires.. Fuses are good, looking for a good place to start. Power winder/locks.
Little update, i reset my battery and they worked, waited like twenty minutes, nothing works again.. why would i have to reset the battery every time for the windows to work?
Whenever P0411 triggers for me, it is very late into driving (i.e. like 30 minutes into the freeway type of situation) where the engine has already hit optimal temperature. I've gone 1000 miles after reset before it triggers. Sometimes 200 or so miles, but it never triggers quickly after a reset. I'm unsure if it matters, but the VR6 does have a cold air intake (and I do have the breather hose connected & maf correctly connected). I'm pointing it out because p0411 became an issue about 500 miles after I had installed the cold air intake.
View 6 RepliesI purchased a 2002 2.0 jetta a couple of months ago and not long after I had it I noticed that the airbag light had come on. I brought it to a garage and had them check it out and they came back with a code that read 01218 side airbag igniter passenger side. When. I asked about getting this fixed they really couldn't say much about what exactly the problem was other then to say that it could be a problem with the whole system...which I don't get as the code only came back for the side airbag igniter. I also went and spoke to the dealer here in town and they wouldn't even speak to me about it unless I let them have the car be seen by one of their mechanics and putting the computer on it to read the code which I had already told them about.
View 6 Replies2003 Jetta GLI 2.8L 24v VR6 .... Last night I went to a friends house, everything was normal on the way there, probably 35-40 degrees out. When I got to his house and shut off the car and pulled the key out the power died (clock/trip meter reset) and the alarm started going off. It has done this before once or twice but I could never figure out what it was and it was never really an issue except for the clock resetting.
Jets won, went to leave and the car wouldn't start. It was raining gently at the time but the car has weathered worse. I replaced the battery ~2-4 months ago so it should definitely still be good. Jumped with my friend's car, started on the first try. I let it sit for a bit then we were on our way.
1/4 mile away in the middle of an intersection the car died, power steering, everything, and I had to drift to the other side of the road. The person across the street from me was a cop and it was 12:30 in the morning but he was gone before my car died. I have been driving 5/6 speeds all my life and I know I didn't cause the stall out. The dash lights flickered and dimmed. I shut everything off and then gave it a try and the car started right up. Revved the engine a few times, reverse and drove away. It was fine the rest of the way home.
The battery connections are tight. The car has started every single time up until now with the new battery. My old battery did leak some acid on the copper connectors and into the main positive power cable but I neutralized all of it and cleaned it off and it looked fine except for some pitting on the outside of the terminal clamp. The car is mostly stock except for the exhaust but that was years ago.
Current Battery Voltage: 12.37 ... I just started the car for the first time this morning and it started perfectly. started @ ~1200 and then settled down to ~800rpm after a bit, it usually does this when its cold out. No codes have been thrown.
I was check fuses looking to see if taillight bulb was bad. I pulled out a few while the car was running, then there was a beep, and airbag light came on. Tailight fuse was ok, just had a bad bulb. Put in new bulb, everything works fine but airbag light stays on. All fuses are good.
View 3 RepliesI'm looking for the secret to eliminating the airbag light when running an after market wheel. I realize that not everyone agrees with this modification, but could we stick to the subject at hand. I know there are some hubs that come with a premade resistor that you plug in that eliminates the light, and I've read that some people use a 4.7 resistor. I don't have a plug in resistor, I've tried the 4.7 and that didn't work for me. I've never been able to find any place that would sell the plug in resistor separately, is this possible? What I might have done wrong?

I obviously care that it functions properly in the event of a collision, however I was curious if there is a way to manually turn it off for a duration? I have an inspection coming up which doesn't allow for this light to be on.
View 19 RepliesI swapped my cloth seats for leathers today and the airbag light came on after... the seats were out of a 2000 golf, so I was expecting to have to splice wires, but, the connectors were the exact same on the cloth from my car and leathers from the donor car... so I just did a plug and play... I scanned with vcds and got these codes:

I take it the passenger seat is the problem... I didn't clear the codes, I wanted to ask here first before I did if I need to do anything to connectors there or just the clear the codes?
I purchased a 2006 Volkswagen Golf TDI from the auction that had blown passenger and drivers airbag. I replaced the dashboard and both airbags, as well as the airbag control module and now the vehicle won't start. It started fine before replacing it.
The only code I got before was the 18996 Prior to this as well as a bunch of airbag ones (obviously due to the air bags)

I cleared all of these codes and 01314 and 17978 are cleared but still won't start so I'm sure its just a matter of time before those codes kick in again. I tried searching these codes and still can't figure it out from all my research. Hopefully I didn't miss connecting something during my dashboard replacement?
I have a 2004 Jetta which has the 2-wire seat belt sensor on the passenger side and a 4-wire sensor for the drivers side. I swapped seats from an older style MKIV which had no seat belt sensor on the passenger side and a 2-wire seat belt sensor on the driver side.
As of now the seat belt sensors are disconnected and I am throwing seat belt sensor codes for both passenger and driver side. I have already tried to clear the codes via VAGcom...took care of 2 ignitor codes, but not these seat belt switch codes.
Is it possible to splice in the 2-wires from the older seats to the correct 2 out of 4 wires coming from my car? What's the difference between the 4-wire and 2-wire connector on the driver side?
Also, reading through the DIY here: [URL] ..... It states that I would need a recoding of the Airbag controller in VAG-COM to deal with the airbag light. What this code is suppose to be?
I have a 1996 Geo Metro LSI 1.3L, automatic trans.
ISSUE #1
The airbag light will not go off. I replaced the air bag control module under the shifter console and the front impact sensor near the hood latch. No effect. What is my next step? I was thinking of replacing the steering column sensor/module.

Note: I also replace the ECU to no avail. I did this because the check engine light keeps coming on. I clear the code, but "low emission threshhold) code keep returing. Does this mean my catalytic converter is gone, or could it be the O2 sensors?
I have swapped my stock radio for an anew head unit. After doing this i got now the airbag light permanent on. (It doesn t blink). Normally this light should be off while driving.
I don't want to go to the dealer to reset it. I already did the basic stuff like checking the airbag fuses and disconnect the negative battery connector for a while. No difference.
