Having squeaks coming from their window seal between the glass and the seal? I mean, it can get really bad... I have to roll my windows down a touch and then it's a smooth, quiet ride. I was going to try and drag a small amount of some kind of lube around the seal soon.

View 7 RepliesI have a 2015 3IS which has about 5,000kms on it. Was wondering if any of you experience rattles/squeaks from driver's door glass when closed? Usually comes out on uneven roads or after going through a road where the chassis/body gets twisted a bit. I live in the mountains so the roads here are really twisty and has all those weird angles.
View 14 RepliesOkay here is the deal: My X has been leaking from the time that I purchased the thing almost 2 years ago, in the back intermittent at first and I have been trying to trace it. It's not the roof rack and not any hinges or goodies around the edge, top, door, trim, etc. So what is it! Well we finally got some rain here and I am pretty sure it's the actual glass seal!?!? What should I use to seal it If I pull all the nuts off the bolts does the glass pop out? I just don't want it to go "pop"

View 2 RepliesEven with the excellent HVAC system in my Phaeton, the windows will fog up. I know I can press the dedicated Defrost button on the dash that turns the blower fan way up and clears the windows very quickly. But is there any way to set the system to do what many other cars do, i.e., split the air flow between the defrost vents and the lower level (foot) vents?
When I press the button on the infotainment screen to manually direct the air to the upper-most vent, it seems to direct the air not to the defrost vents closest to the windshield, but to the perforated panel on top of the dash. This doesn't keep the windshield from fogging as well as I would like. I am forced occasionally to press the Defrost button to clear it.
On both my front windshield as well as my rear window I see small shiny speckles in the glass when the sun is shining thru the glass particularly in early morning and later in the day when the sun angle is low. At first I thought it was tree sap but a thorough cleaning did nothing to improve it. So I used a claybar on the window thinking it may be some other type of contaminant and that did nothing either. The speckles are still there. I have not tried polishing the windshield and rear window.

I don't really notice it while driving but it makes my skin crawl every time I shut the doors. No sound as long as the windows are up.
I have an 04 lariat extended cab truck with the sliding rear window, but i have a leak somewhere back there. I have noticed that water literally drips right in the top middle of the window, but around the window is dry. Also, the roof interior trim is wet at the corners in the rear closest to the door. i do have a cracked 3rd brake light, is that the reason it is leaking or is there a seal somewhere else outside on top of the truck, maybe around the rear window as a whole?

Smashed out my driver's side window and took it. Now to replace that window. I did manage to find a replacement window.
Pulled off the door panel and now I'm trying to install the glass. Anything I try though, I can't seem to get the glass back into the tracks. Does anything inside the door need to be removed before I can install the glass back into the tracks? Such as the window motor/regulator assembly? On the left side of the drivers door towards the bottom, there is also another small alignment track. Does this need to be removed as well?
My 2002 has a sliding rear window. I noticed the rubber weatherstripping pieces that seal the sliding piece of glass was out of place. I slid the window open and it fell off. I then looked at the others and they were being held on by a thread.
I took them off. There is black rubber or weatherstrip adhesive in the tracks the strips came from. Do I need to scraped that out and reapply adhesive? Is there a video or tutorial on this somewhere?
I may not be searching correctly...? How the back inside trim is removed from the hatch window. I know the handle has the two Torx screws does the trim pull out or are there clips? Don't want to break any plastic parts. I found how to fix the back lock. I found the back barn door trim removal.

View 1 RepliesMy rear defroster on my sliding glass window doesn't work all the time. I make sure the window is completely closed. It sometimes comes on and other times it doesn't. Sometimes it comes on and immediately shuts off. The dealership says I will need a new window. The truck is 7 months out of warranty. I think a $52,000 truck should have a rear defroster that works a heck of a lot longer than 43 months, especially when it has only been used 3 times since I bought it. Is this a problem that any of you have experienced with you F-150's ? I love my truck and will live with the rear defroster not working before I replace it. I just feel that Ford should have better quality than that.
View 14 RepliesJust noticed today that the rubber seal around the window, a small part of the rubber seal, has peeled.
Talked to the dealer and initially they said that it could have been the tint shop's fault because they may have been their fault.
Called the tint shop and they explained their process and after doing little research of my own and watching youtube videos, it is unlikely that the tint shop could have done this.
Called dealer again and explained to them that i talked to the tint shop and after hearing their process and after researching their process, it may not have been the tint shop but just a small mistake on hyundai/dealer part. they said the best they could do is take a look at the car, but not guaranteed they will fix it.
I recently noticed that I start hearing some tiny squeaks coming from the suspension somewhere when I get on or off the car, or rock the car from the inside. I have a 2011 with 70k miles, always been a CA car.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2004 camry with 107k miles. The power drivers window makes a pop when leaving the seal. I have cleaned out the track, lubricated with silicone spray, but this did not solve the problem.
When I put a little pressure on the top of the window with my hand it comes down fine without popping.
I am thinking it may be a track issue. It appears the window is shifting 1/4-1/2 " to the front just before it contacts the seal.
Headlight fogging up after car wash or rain.
Driver side window seal folds over badly, wind noise is evident.
Passenger side lumbar broken .
And finally. The front jerk when applying brakes. It's not there in the morning, gets worse as you start driving, feels like strut bar bushings, but all of the control arms were changed in February. Having a tech join me for a ride to show this problem to him. I'm staring to think it's either caliper, or brake actuator.
Just had the driver window glass replaced. This is the second repair as the first guy just glued it and I think he partially detached the outer window seal. Is there a way to glue it back or does it need to be replaced? Is that something I could do. Now that I've seen videos, I could have replaced the window glass myself.....
View 5 RepliesMy Passat seems happy enough. Been over a year since I've had a problem. Not even a CEL. My dilema is do I take this into the dealer for warranty work or best leave well enough alone.
For kicks I did a Vag COm scan the other day (last one was a year ago and I cleared the codes ) and I have a handful of intermittent codes again. Mostly the same. Cleared again, rescanned in a week and only one came back. They are mostly Central Convenience / HVAC codes. The one that came back was one of 2 codes for positioning motors in the HVAC.
I know digging into dash stuff isn't fun. Creaks and squeaks and demons come out if the the tech isn't careful in what he does. I'm not noting any issues at all.
