So I've been finding myself lately having to press the ebrake pedal pretty deep when parking on a non leveled surface. Went to the dealer and they said this car has self adjusting parking brake........ Is this true? Do I have to suck it up? If no, how do I adjust either the pedal or the parking brake bands?
View 2 RepliesMy 2012 ISF has this weird hesitation going on. On manual mode with Sport, I would try to accelerate pretty hard and around 5k RPM, it would bog down and hesitate. Almost feeling like it's choking.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 toyora prius with 75423mi on it, was purchased with 70000mi two or three months ago. I have had no problems with this vehicle until recently. Being a prius newbie, I decided to ask here. When sitting parked on a slight slope earlier with the car running, radio running, and phone plugged in for an extended amount of time, I received an error on my display stating smething along the lines of "there is an abnormality with the p transmission mechanism, please part the car on a flat surface and engage the parking break completely" paired with a red triangle on the dash. I immediately moved the car to flat ground and engaged the parking break. The car turns one, shifts fine, and acts just as normal as prior. Is there anything I should be worried about? The car is still under toyota warrenty and is due an oil change now. Any clue what the cause of this was and if it will be reoccuring?
View 13 RepliesI've been noticing over the past couple years that sometimes when I accelerate, there's a slight delay between the time I press my foot down on the pedal and when acceleration actually happens. From reading other threads it would seem that the most common fix is to re-flash the ECU. I bought a DiabloSport Predator tuner along with a CAI a while back to improve performance/gas mileage and I was wondering if there's a way I can use the tuner to re-flash.
If not, do most ford repair shops already carry these? I don't want to buy a flash programmer. Also, if the shop does carry this type of an item, what is the average cost to get it re-flashed?
I own an '04 F150 XLT 5.4l.

i removed the rotors when doing the pads and found the parking brake shoe to be pretty skinny. Unlike regular drum brake shoes...
Then checked some pictures in google, i appears that parking brake shoes are by design pretty thin?
I have an 07 Prius that's been going great for me. About two weeks ago I get this strange error message about my P Lock mechanism and how I need to be parked on a flat surface with the parking brake fully engaged. The car wouldn't start, just a bunch of warning lights. Finally I replaced the 12v battery at the dealership.

Brake pedal is real soft goes pretty far down (close to floor) before brakes kick in.
Check front disc pads and rear shoe pads, both look good. Fluid level is good. Bleed brake lines.
Pump brakes up when car is off, pedal is real firm till I turn car on an push on brake pedal right to the floor.
I was wondering if there is any way to easily adjust the parking brake so it bites tighter. I took it to Lexus of Pohanka and they told me that it's normal in a Lexus car to have to press the parking brake all the way to the carpet to get it to engage. I immediately debunked this when I recieved a loaner and engaged the parking brake and it grabs a lot sooner.
View 6 RepliesIt's like a tire grinding or shuffling at low parking lot speed, hard right or left turn, more evident when slowly braking during the turn. Dealership claims the negative camber contributes to this phenomenon and that nothing can be done about it.
I realize we have about a 1.5-degree negative camber in 2011-and on IS-F (I have no mods and still running with stock Potenza RE-050s), perhaps this contributes to the feel of the tires at parking speeds.
I've done some research on the shaking that is occurring on my truck an it's a possibility that it's the e brake seizing up. I've read where everyone has taken it to the dealer to get it fixed ....
View 7 RepliesI noticed something a few weeks back, wanted to see if it's normal or a potential issue is arising. When you are driving slowly, maybe coasting to a red light and not using much braking power, I notice the pedal is pretty firm. If you push on it harder, it then "gives" and feels softer and you can more easily push it towards the floor. If you are driving faster or braking harder, it feels more normal and doesn't have the firmness when you first press the brake.
I assume this is the brake assist or some other electronic nanny at work, but wanted to verify. I have checked the brake fluid in the car, and it's certainly not low.
E brakes were sticking so I took off wheels, rotors, calipers, and cleaned the E Brake caliper and lubed it. Started driving and E brakes are still sticking? What gives? Could the cable be hung up? Wonder if I should replace the E brake cables.

I saw on a Honda Civic one day a very deep blue bulb on his factory DRL's. I am assuming it's shared with his high beams? I loved the color and I'm not worried about sacrificing the high beam for this bulb. Looking for deep blue bulbs that are plug and play for my Camry? This is primarily for aesthetics.
Upon start up my car totally shutdown and reset itself. While the car was shut down the brake pedal locked up and the car would not start it was completely dead.
View 2 RepliesI went to start my car this morning after not driving it for about three days and nothing happened when I pushed the start button. So I double checked to make sure it was in park, had my foot on the brake and again the car wouldn't start. The only thing that would happen is it would engage the accessories same as if I pushed the start button without having my foot on the brake pedal. I did notice that the brake pedal felt unusually hard as in, it would not depress more than a few millimeters. I decided to push on the brake pedal with considerable amount of force which resulted in it depressing maybe a few millimeters more. Then when I pushed the start button the car started up and the braked pedal sank a few inches like normal when the car first starts up. Everything was normal after this. Made a few pit stops on the way to work and the brakes felt fine and the car started perfectly normally.
I have had the car for only a week and a half. It's a 2012 isf.
Whenever I am in a parking lot turning into parking spaces or driving slowly around or even turning into my driveway I have a deep creaking type sound that sounds awful. It's either the suspension going south, something with one of the strut bars or the bigger diameter mid pipe making contact with something when the car is turning. Car is noise free otherwise even over soles bumps, just happens to sound nasty when making turn ins going 2-5 mph.

View 10 RepliesI have a 1999 Grand Am 3.4L engine that has 227,000 miles on it. For quite a while now I've needed to press the gas pedal slightly in order for the car to start. Once it's started it idles fine. The car isn't throwing any codes and I've replaced quite a few things (not necessarily due to this...). Here's a list of what's new:
1) Camshaft Position Sensor
2) Plugs & Plug Wires
3) Mass Air Flow Sensor
4) PCV Hose
5) Fuel Filter
I've read about the Idle Air Control sensor, but I figured if there was something wrong with this it would throw a code and I'd have a dummy light on the dash (which there are none). What are some things I can look for to try to troubleshoot this issue?
