In the process of purchasing 2008 600hl. Wondering if any of the 600 owners can tell me if you experience a light vibration in U-turns, mainly coming from the back? I just called the servicing dealer and the SA told me that he felt the same thing when he moved a 600 for a customer making sharp turns, explaining that this is normal from the electric motors. Is this true???
View 1 RepliesHas any ls600 owner noticed a small vibration/shudder when they decelerate (without braking) on the highway ? It may be only a hybrid issue even during normal operation as the electric engine are recharging the battery.
View 14 RepliesWe own a 2008 LS600Hl and love it. I just got the car back from a minor bumper fix from the body shop last week, and my daughter showed me that the armrest controls in the back are dark. Think it could be a fuse, relay or the genius at the body shop had to disconnect something and did not connect something back. If it is simple, I'd rather take care of it, than go back to him again.
View 6 RepliesI'm beginning to notice a high pitched whine when I first start up my 2008 LS600hL and turn the wheel slightly (like backing out of my garage). It almost sounds like the beginning of a power steering pump problem, but I think our power steering systems on the LS are electric.
Experiencing a slight whine/growling sound when the car is still cold and the wheel is turned? Maybe the sound has been there all along and I'm just now noticing it.
I did a search on this topic and came up empty. My car is still covered under a CPO warranty, so I'm not too concerned, but was wanting to get opinions from the forum on possible causes (or if this sound is a normal part of the electric power steering we have).
08 LS600hL. The cigarette/power outlet in center console shorts out instantly. I have changed the fuse a couple times. Tested several different plugs. The ashtray and rear console power outlets both work perfectly. Nothing else seems to have any issues, radio, windows, climate, etc.
View 4 RepliesI'm new to Lexus ownership and have recently purchased an 08 certified LS 460 L with the air ride suspension. It's a phenomenal car, I'm now a convert to the brand. One small thing I noticed though is a slight jiggle or vibration coming to the steering wheel at moderate speeds. It is very dependent on the road surface, Seems to dissipate on the highway. Alignment was checked before delivery and feels fine and the tires themselves feel balanced. It's not upsetting, I'm just curious if this is something normal to the air ride suspension. Other than this the car is an absolute gem with only 35,000 miles.

I resorted to replacing the batteries once a week (yes it was that bad). that was up until today when the car refused to start completely. Everything in it is dead, including the horns.

View 9 RepliesLast week while my wife was pulling out the cart . I heard a grinding noise coming from the back wheels. i figured it was time for new brakes, I changed the front last year so rears were pending.
I changed rotors and pads, they were like 20 per left. also looked like the e brake was touching the rotors. I adjusted that a little.
So the noise is still there and its worse. I have no clue what could be making the noise. brake dust shield maybe.. shocks .. Its worse when i turn right...
I have done brakes on every car i have owned and it was pretty easy for lx. What could be causing the noise.
When I pick up my car I feel this vibration coming from my wheels. It only happens around the first and second gears. Once the car is fast there is no more issue. It also doesn't happen when I pick the car up slowly. If I go even a bit fast I hear this rotating like noise and vibration. What it could be?
View 5 RepliesI just purchased a 2009 LS460l and noticed a really deep vibration coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vibrations occur when I am at a complete stop and attempt to accelerate the vehicle turning to the left or right. Initially, I thought the tires were rubbing (18inch wheels), but after taking it to my local Lexus dealership they seemed confident the vibrations were occurring because my center differential needed to be flushed a refilled with 3 quarts of new fluid (they claimed the fluid was filthy) which is ~$150/quart. The car has brand new tires and all of which were just balanced/aligned.
View 4 RepliesAFS Flashing and there is a clunk in the right rear on turns and it bottoms out over speed bumps . According to service manual and internet search, this combo may be a problem with the rear height control sensor sub assembly or rear No. 2 suspension arm or other suspension issue. AFS flashes because the car height changes affecting the headlight adjustment leading to AFS flash.
Dealer says "Yes sensor is mounted to the control arm and if it's broken in half, it would clunk and cause afs light to flash."
I hear a bit of a squeaking noise. Very minimal. Coming from back when I'm on rough roads. Is that normal. Sounds like it might be from coilover or somewhere in the back.

How do you remove the 3rd tail light to check for loose connections or to replace the bulb? 2011 ES350...
When I reverse out of my driveway, my car makes a noise. It only happens when it is in reverse and sounds like something may be rubbing against each other. It's not a high pitched squeaking noise but more so just vibrations and a light rubbing noise.
View 8 RepliesI recently hit 180,000 km on my mileage and all of the sudden theres increased ticking engine noise and vibration. Sounds like a diesel engine. No check engine lights, gas mileage is the same, acceleration is the same and as far as I can tell after checking oil its within normal range for now.
I'm worried its either the VVTi Rubber hose exploded or its the VVTI Camshaft / piston slap issue. My dilemna is I'm 3 hours drive away from a Lexus dealer but there is a Toyota Dealer 10 min away. Should I bring it in to verify theres no oil leak at Toyota and then take it back to a Lexus mechanic to see if it is Camshaft gear ?
My gf has a 2007 F-150 XLT Scab 5.4 2x4 and ever since she got the truck (bought used) the odometer back light has never worked. I know it was a common problem with the previous generation trucks to have a bad solder joint to cause this. I'm assuming that with these newer trucks the back light is LED, so chances are the bulbs are fine.
View 4 RepliesMy 2008 Dodge Caravan SXT is having A/C problems. The back air works great, all the time...however, the front air randomly turns off and on. It doesn't matter what speed I'm going, what speed the knob is turned to (low vs. high), it just stops blowing. When I'm driving at a faster speed I can feel the cold air barely coming through the vents, but doesn't change when I move the knob. All along, the back A/C works perfectly. I've looked online and found a lot of things about the resistor, blower motor, fuse and WIN module. How I can narrow it down without paying the dealership an arm and a leg to fix things that might not even be the issue?
