Thinking about pulling the trigger on the clear ones while my car is in the body shop, I would be broke for two days, but if its a hassle i would rather order it now and have the body shop do it.. if its easy ill just wait till next pay period and do them myself..
View 9 RepliesMy blinker housing is cracked and I can't figure out how to remove and replace it. It looks like you might have to pull the mirror glass to get to the screws. Is this the case? If not, how do you do it, and if so, how do you pull the mirror glass off without it breaking?
View 5 RepliesI am working on my 2010 Prius, and needing to replace the front right fender. I have the collision manual, however, it does not shown completely what all must come off to remove the fender. I've removed the obvious 4 bolts, etc. Specifically
(a) what all must be removed to take off the fender, and
(b) are there any fender bolts that are concealed or out of plain view?
i have a 2002 passat b5.5 and i have been having this problem every time i use one of my turning signals it sometimes turns on..........but quickly shuts off...and then sometimes it doesn't turn on at all..
View 2 RepliesSo I get to explore my first repair with this new to me car. Yesterday morning, turn signals works fine. That afternoon, the stalk apparently stopped working, which I have heard of. Interestingly though:
-the brights and cruise work
-the hazards work (my improvised indication that I'm turning )
-the stalk had been replaced once before by the PO.
Did this thing eat another stalk, or are there some other things I should check first?
Today I noticed that the "click" sound on my turn signals was gone. I had someone watch the front and rear signals and none of them lit up if the clicking/dash light didn't either. Sometimes it would come on for 2-3 clicks, then stop. I could sorta force the issue by flipping the level back and forth, but it only worked for about half of the times I flipped the lever.
I tried the hazard switch. In this situation, the lights stay on (blinking), but they have an irregular cadence, like a heart murmur (just in signal form!). Click-a, click-a, cli-cli-cli-cka...etc.
How do u remove and install the turn signals in the mirror?
View 6 RepliesI just bought a 98 passat sedan v6 four days ago. When I purchased it the turn signals and hazards were working. I was driving yesterday and they went out all of the sudden. Thought it was the fuse at first, changed it, still not working. I bought a turn signal flasher relay, but the repair manual doesn't tell me which one it is so I can change it.

No B5 posts since the variant has been running well....'til today, when I noticed irregular turn signal operations. This is for a B5.5, 2002. Occasionally they'd work as they should, but much of the time they'd blink a few times then stay off.
Continues to happen after shutting down the engine and restarting (was wondering if that would reset anything). I recall some sort of relay problem with the turn signals. Does this sound like what's going on?
i need to know what bulb size is the bumper turn signals. Mine has blown out.
View 2 RepliesThe turn signals stop blinking after a few blinks on my 2001.5 Passat 4Motion. There are no burned out bulbs, no aftermarket lighting, nor any aftermarket audio. The problem also happens when using the emergency flashers. The lights will blink for as little as two or as many as 15 blinks and then just stop. Is this a relay switch? Where is it? Can I get to it without taking the dang dash out of the car?
View 4 RepliesI picked up a set of harley davidson look-a-like headlights online for my 05. I go to install them and when I tighten them up it causes the turn signal bulbs to push in towards the fender on both. I put my hand back there and it feels like the bulb socket is being forced against the header panel assembly. Am I missing something?

I have a 2003 W8 wagon and my front turn signal bulb went out. I need to replace it, but am having some problems. I removed the high beam cover to get to the turn signal socket, but I am having problem removing the socket. I was able to turn the socket slightly and was hoping I could just pull it back, unfortunately it doesn't seem to want to move. Is there a trick to remove the turn signal socket so I can remove the bulb? I don't want to force anything in fear of breaking something. there has to be a way.

View 4 RepliesI have a 99 gmc jimmy. Head lights and tails lights work. But not the Hazard and or turn signals. I checked fuses. I'm thinking it might be the plug under the ash tray. But I don't want to pull off the dash to find out it isn't that.

I did search but have had no luck. My turn signals do not work, unless my foot is on the brake pedal my green arrow indicator wont even turn on. When they do my bulbs work but don't cycle so I know all the bulbs are good as I had my wife check all four corners when I got them to come on for a split second. I have tried replacing the MFS and the turn signal relay under the radio in the dash.... When I do turn on my blinkers I can hear the relay click once but that is it, no more.
I tried checking the wiring in the column and tilting the column to its extremes while trying to engage the turn signals. Also, if I unplug the brake light switch then I do not get an arrow on the IC to light up so I am guessing the power flows through that switch. I don't have a chilton manual yet and the owners manual was not in the truck. I did check fuse 23 ?
Coming back from a trip I got a e-brake light show up on the dash then noticed the signals stopped working and the heated seats no longer turn on. I scanned it with my AE and got a brake fluid sensor error come up but nothing about the signals .... is this a common problem or is there a connection between all this? 2003 F350 6.0L .....
View 2 Replies89 v6 4Runner. When I turn the key forward you hear a "click" coming from the passenger side fender area. After a few turns the engine will turn over and away you go. Yesterday for the first time after a few clicks I lost all power to my instrument panel, no dash lights no gauges working and no click, nothing. Stereo, cigarette lighter still had power, even reset my dash clock so it lost all connections as well. Every few turns I would get lights back and turn the key to start and click and dead again. Eventually I bump started the engine, drove home and here I sit.
Relay box by the front fender... this is where the click is coming from, looked at a few posts from yoda tech and one person suggested cutting the no 4 line for the ignition system off the relay box and have it go directly to the pos post for the battery. This will be a closed circuit from the battery post direct to the starter relay yes?
Relay box is probably just getting old and wires are beat up. My electrical is not the best for sure. Can I just clean up the wires going to the relay box(es)?
