The main right beam not working message came on in my dash. I have hids in and did the vag com already. I have had them for like three months now and the warning came on today. My lights still turn on and work fine.
View 3 RepliesSo I have MFD display errors for "main beam not working" on both sides but both of my headlights, lows and highs both work fine. this has been like this for a few months now. I can clear the codes with my VAGCOM and after a day or two they come right back. I do have LED license plate lights but for at least a year i only got the error code on startup for the plate lights but never headlights. A little confused as to what is tripping the headlight codes
View 3 RepliesThis morning a dash light informed me a headlight bulb was out. It was my DTR light on the passenger side.
I purchased Sylvania H7 high intensity, installed it and it failed to work properly. Daytime light on only drivers side works.
High Beam on , both lights works.
I checked my manual and it said to check fuse in the 5 slot on the driver side dash/door panel and there actually is no fuse in there. I checked the driver side and there was no fuse there either.
I replaced my driver side bulb last year and it took 5 mins....i am already 4 hours into this!
My high beam indicator in my dash is not working, I pulled the bulb and checked it and it is fine, so I did a voltage test and I am only getting 1.5 volts at the light terminals, I should be getting 12 volts. Is there a wiring diagram someone has so i can see if it is the dash display itself or that I could trace back to the switch to see if it is something in the headlight switch? or What it could possibly be. other than that, everything else works.
View 3 RepliesMy sister has a 2008 passat and her Low Dip Beam light warning light went on last week. he was able to put the brights on and have both headlights working, but they would distract other drivers. I got another bulb today and replaced it, but it didn't do anything. I changed the halogen bulb that is on the right side of the headlight, if you are looking at the headlight, and turned the headlights on as well as the brights and now nothing works on that side, besides the yellow light. I was thinking that it may be the fuses, but it doesn't look like those are bad either. However, I looked at the fuses and the diagram and it looks like the headlights should have a 10 amp fuse, but they have 5's, from what I can tell and those were never touched by us. What may be causing the headlight not to work?
View 1 RepliesI bought a replacement bulb, swapped it out. No dice. I swapped over the passenger side low beam and still no dice. At this point I know its not the bulbs. I swapped in the original Driver's side light to the passenger side and it works. So now I have an extra bulb.
But the light is not working when I know the bulbs are good. Is this a fuse problem? It just happened one day while driving home from work the light shows up.
How should I go about fixing this and is it most likely a fuse that has gone out or something far worse?
On driving it at night I have noticed the main beam is not very bright, dull in fact. Took it to Hyundai and they re seated the bulbs and realigned the lights, although slightly better they still seem dull. My last car had zenons....
View 7 RepliesI turned on my lights, as you do whilst driving and the main beam came on, it WILL NOT GO OFF no matter which way i turn the switch etc etc etc. Its stuck on permanently, and the blue warning light on the dash board is on and wont go off neither. I have a seat ibiza 1.4 sport 2007 ....
View 2 RepliesDrivers side low beam not working. The bulb is fine saying something was tapped in, therefore, can't warranty headlight. Guy said the light gets power just light won't work. Can Vagcom fix this? Dealer wants $125 for inspection plus another $676 for parts and labor.
View 19 RepliesSo my left front dipped beam hasn't been working for a couple weeks and I finally went and got a couple replacement bulbs, put them in no problem (replaced both just so they would match) and it still doesn't work! The passenger side works fine, but the driver's side just tells me that it isn't working.

I have switched fuses to new ones.
Is there anything else I can check?
Is there relays on this model for the high beams?
Low beams works fine and everything else in lights.
I am having an issue with the passenger side low beam headlight on a stock 02 Passat. Bulb is fine but after testing confirmed no juice to that side. Drivers side works fine as do the running lights on both sides. Fuse is fine and after an afternoon of looking at it I am about ready to beat my head up against the wall. Only other clue is the cig lighter went out about (not sure if the exact) same time.
View 2 RepliesSo, last night I go to turn on the high beams on my 2002 Passat (pushing the bar on the left of the steering column forward) ... and nothing happens. The bar clicks into place as it should, but no high beams. The little indicator light on the dashboard does not come on, either.
I try to flash my high beams, and that DOES work. The brights come on, and the little indicator lights up when the beams engage.
So ... I know it's not a fuse, since the lights are actually functioning. What part/switch/relay/whatever needs to be replaced to get this fixed? I feel like this would involve me needing to pull apart the mechanism in the steering column, but I hope not ...
Before i made a post about not working MIL indicator light on dash. The thing is that i spend all the water from the windshield washer and the low fluid level warning indicator light never came on dash. So the 2 issues are related.
Is there a connector or something that i can check for myself?I check the led that operates this two indicators light on dash and it's seem to be working perfect. (I change positions one for other in the same dash).
Just as the title says, I have had the PIAA bulbs in my DRL for about a month. Today I swapped out the 27W PIAA 7440 with the 21W stock bulbs and am getting bulb out warning on the dash. The stock bulbs appear fine and were working when I swapped them. I put the PIAA back and it works again. It seems like the car has "adapted" to the higher wattage of the PIAA and now thinks that the stock bulbs are too low wattage to be a functional bulb?

View 2 RepliesOK.. 2005 F150 Lariat. Air conditioner worked on the way to work, went to drive home, air not blowing out the 4 main dash vents. Blows cold out the feet, and redirect SEEMS to be working, just not blowing at all out the main vents in the dash?
Even if you adjust the temp to where it should be blowing warm/hot air, it will not blow out the main vents.
Diagnosing a few dash warning lights that come on all within an one hour of driving. While driving to a family gathering and after only 5 minute into the drive a get a warning light that looks just like a car battery. A minute after that I get "Alternator Workshop". Rather than stopping on the freeway shoulder I kept driving, because my 3 month old daughter on board. I would hate someone to plow into us. Therefore, I kept driving on slow lane without problems until15 minutes later I feel this thump and the car surges for a second. I thought it was a blown tire, but the ABS & another symbol (exclamation point w/semi-circle) & Airbag system lights came on all at once.
Luckily I was near an off ramp and I exited and pulled into a shopping center. Since it was already dark out, I did notice that my all my lighting and headlight were dimmer than usual and I also noticed less power from the motor. I quickly looked at the manual to find out what all these warning symbols meant. The battery symbol means problems like be loose or broken alternator belt or faulty alternator. I am hoping all these warning light are not separate repairs, but a single problem, like a bad battery, loose or broken alternator belt that is hindering all these other functions (ABS & airbag system).
I put some LED lights in my front side markers in my headlights...The issue is they turn on then off and cause a light out warning in the dash. What do I need to do to have these work all the time?

Yesterday when I got in the car to do errands the car turned on but neither the MFD nor the main dash display turned on. I was able to get a little bit out of the MFD when I would push the display button, but it would fade and then go off. The main display was completely blank (no speedo, lights, other indicators, nothing), although it would show the turn indicators when I signaled.
When I got where I was going I couldn't turn the car off by pushing the power button, and I couldn't get the trunk open to get the garbage out.
I just purchased a 2002 vw passat wagon VR6 yesterday. Driving it home about 2 hours into the drive, the warning on the dash started flashing door open and the display said "rear lid open" and a very annoying sound kept chiming. It did that all the way home. Once I got it home I turned it off and locked it. An hour later the alarm starts going off.. figure it was because of the trunk lid. The lid is completely latched and closed and locked.
