My high beam doesnt work. I have a Euro Passat with H7. I bought new H7 yesterday but still no luck.
I have switched fuses to new ones.
Is there anything else I can check?
Is there relays on this model for the high beams?
Low beams works fine and everything else in lights.
This morning a dash light informed me a headlight bulb was out. It was my DTR light on the passenger side.
I purchased Sylvania H7 high intensity, installed it and it failed to work properly. Daytime light on only drivers side works.
High Beam on , both lights works.
I checked my manual and it said to check fuse in the 5 slot on the driver side dash/door panel and there actually is no fuse in there. I checked the driver side and there was no fuse there either.
I replaced my driver side bulb last year and it took 5 mins....i am already 4 hours into this!
So, last night I go to turn on the high beams on my 2002 Passat (pushing the bar on the left of the steering column forward) ... and nothing happens. The bar clicks into place as it should, but no high beams. The little indicator light on the dashboard does not come on, either.
I try to flash my high beams, and that DOES work. The brights come on, and the little indicator lights up when the beams engage.
So ... I know it's not a fuse, since the lights are actually functioning. What part/switch/relay/whatever needs to be replaced to get this fixed? I feel like this would involve me needing to pull apart the mechanism in the steering column, but I hope not ...
Car is a 2002 b5.5 1.8t sedan.
Bought the DDM Tuning HIDs, 3500k 35w for the fogs, installed with no problems. Also ordered the 5000k 35w for the low beams. Installed them, they flickered on for a second, then nothing. Let the ballasts charge for a while but still nothing. Called DDM, they said my car needs a error code eliminator kit thing later they were at my doorstep. Plugged one side in, flicked on then nothing. Thought both sides might need the code eliminators plugged in...wrong. both flickered on, and then nothing. Tried again, no flicker, both low beam fuses burned. Plugged the regular bulbs in, changed the fuses, lights working again.
I don't know much about electrical, but DDM said i def don't need a relay kit. Do I need a relay kit? Or would putting higher amperage fuses in the place of the original ones work? if so what amperage?
I have 2000 golf with a gli front end. Recently just did the swap and now I'm having issues with one blinker and one high beam not working. The running lights work on both sides. The headlights work on both sides. I checked the bulbs and they were good. I check for power it was all good. I checked the fuses and they were fine.

View 14 RepliesMy high beam indicator in my dash is not working, I pulled the bulb and checked it and it is fine, so I did a voltage test and I am only getting 1.5 volts at the light terminals, I should be getting 12 volts. Is there a wiring diagram someone has so i can see if it is the dash display itself or that I could trace back to the switch to see if it is something in the headlight switch? or What it could possibly be. other than that, everything else works.
View 3 RepliesWanted to change my stock yellow high beam (DRL) bulb to an LED bulb i bought from jdmtoys I also changed the parking light to LED and it works perfectly, so after changing the high beam bulbs it worked for few seconds then stopped working... I put back the stock high beam bulbs and it still is not working did i blow a fuse or something? Now when I turn the high beam on my headlight turns on instead of the high beam....

My hight beam went off and doesn't work anymore ..my fuse box is the problem and i dont want to replace it cuz its too expensive maybe a chip inside not work right and in my car when i switch the gear to d the hight beam turns on On 6 volts day and night . Now its doesn't work ether the 6 or 12 volts .. How to fix it?

1. Key fob -- keyless entry and alarm stopped working
2. high beam doesn't come on when headlight is on. However, when headlight is off, it comes on--go figure
3. Power door lock also does not work, even from driver side door. Have to lock all doors manually
4. Interior lights don't come on when door is open.
I have an MY10 R36 wagon, and just looking to upgrade the High Beam only for night time driving.
View 1 RepliesI installed an aftermarket HID's on my 06 B6 2.0T, used VAG-COM to disabled DRL's. They work great no issue, expect when I use my high beam.....both HID's go out and I get warning light/message on the dash. I can get them to come back on by turning the lights off and back on.
View 7 RepliesMy right sided high beam stopped working and my dash "bulb" warning light is on. Low beams working normally and still swivel around on startup and when turning. Is there actually a separate bulb for the high beams? I ask because when you flick on the high beams I hear mechanical movement inside the headlight housing, making me think high beams may be just a redirecting of the light. Having computer issues so haven't tried VAGcom yet. Also haven't checked fuses...

View 5 RepliesMy car is fully stock, with all options available to me (cold weather package not available here). The low-beam triple-LED headlights are aimed way too low compared to all my previous cars, and where they should be. BUT high-beam is aimed properly. So if I adjust the low-beams up, my high-beams might end up lighting up the trees, not the road.
If adjust the headlights up on a fully stock car (not lowered at the front)? Are the high beams still lighting up the road fine? And if you can be specific as the number of turns on the screwdriver, it'd be good too to have an initial adjustment reference.
I drive a 96 Subaru Legacy. What does it mean when one of the high beams is dimmer (less light output) than the low beam? I am using a brand-new bulb. It's not an adjustment issue because I was looking at the bulb when it was outside of the housing and it clearly gets dimmer when you switch to brights. However, they are equally bright when on low-beam, so I don't think its just a crossed wire.
