Lately my roof lining has been 'squeaking' when I drive over textured surfaces. I previously reported to the dealer as a sunroof issue but now I detect that it's coming from the headliner behind the sunroof. It seems that the lining is loose. How I should approach the dealer to explain this? Am I using the right jargon? All my rattles have been eliminated bar this one and it drives me nuts!

View 6 RepliesI have a 2005 Toyota Camry LE, 4 cylinder. Every time it rains the passenger side roof lining gets wet and floor gets a puddle. I did not see any drain holes in the moonroof area. I have read that the drains get clogged, but cannot find them. Looked behind the front wheel wells and did not see any drain tubes.
View 4 RepliesI have an RX 450H and noticed that there is a squeaking sound coming from the dashboard. I looked at other posts where people were experiencing similar issues and noticed one post where someone had a GS 450H and fixed this issue by adding felt between the dashboard and the windscreen.
I would like to know whether this method works 100% and whether I can apply this method to the RX 450H. The noise becomes worse when it is cold and especially when the car is being driven over rough road surfaces and speed bumps.
My drive belt is squeaking soooooo loud, took it into my vw dealership but they want waaay to much to fix it, and i picked it up and i can guaranty they made it worse, people want to kill me on the road because its so loud. im getting it fixed on tuesday but i need to get that squeaking gone. How to get the squeaking gone for a few days?

View 12 RepliesMy wife and I just completed a 1k-mile trip yesterday, and during our 65-70 mph drive we heard a frightening banging on our roof. Both of us thought someone had dropped large stones from an overpass. There were maybe 5 bangs, then a pause for a minute, and another 3 bangs. All were loud enough that we feared something would come through the roof.

View 24 RepliesI have an annoying rattle the occurs on rough road surfaces. It comes from the front right wheel area but goes away instantly with light brake pedal pressure. Three trips to the shop have not identified the problem. I just read somewhere that there are "anti-rattle clips" or springs on the brake calipers. Is this right and are these the same as the retaining springs/clips that can be seen from the outside through the slots in the alloys wheels?

Nowadays, it's making a squeaking and scraping noise as the vehicle is moving at any speed. The squeak comes and next the scraping. The sound is becoming more pronounced, it seems, daily. View 1 Replies2001 7.3 l 4X4. I have done a ton of work to get the suspension and steering right. Changed all the shocks, added hellwig sways to front and rear, replaced steering gear with redhead, ball joints and added warns hubs. My question is today was the first time engaging the four wheel drive. I locked the hubs and turned the switch to 4X4 low, it starting squeaking and squalling and felt like my wheels were coming off. I put everything back to 2WD. I switched it to four wheel with out locking the hubs. no problem. When I locked the hubs in it started again. Been doing some research and looking at needle bearings, wheel bearings and axle joints.

I'm not due for service or an oil change for another 5,000 miles so I'm hoping it's not something I need to address immediately. Do you think it would be safe to wait until then?
Last week my 2011 GTI starting making the most unbearable squeeking sound anytime I drive on a bumpy or rough surface. As far as I can tell, it's coming from the interior and it's coming from the passenger seat. However, it's hard to identify the source while you are simultaneously driving.

Purchased a 2010 Tiguan Wolfsburg edition 2 days ago and giving its first wash I noticed the hood up front doesn't quite line up with the front grill. I'm not sure if I'm being overly picky or if I could have stumbled upon some major problems. Carfax came back clean- 1 owner lease, no accidents. Upon further inspection, it looks like the bolts that hold the hood onto the hinge and the bolts that hold the drivers side qtr panel have paint scraped off the tops like they've been removed. The vin sticker on the qtr panel match the vehicles vin, so I'm not sure what to think or do or how to further investigate this.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2006 sonata gls 3.3l v6. There is a whining/slight squeaking noise coming from the drive belt when i turn the car on. When the noise started it would only occur when turning with the AC or Heat on. It then escalated to whenever i started the car and would go away after driving for a while. Now the noise continues even after a drive sometimes..
I've been told by a mechanic friend that the belt looks ok. So my plan is to take the passenger side tire off and the splash guard on that side to get at the tensioner for the belt. Once I have the belt off i plan on turning the various pulleys that the serpentine belt goes on to see if i can figure out which one is making the noise. How to pinpoint where the noise is coming from?

View 3 RepliesI was in the car wash the other day and got sprayed by a little bit of water that came in from the moon roof. When I went through the blower, I put may hand up and felt the air blowing in. Is there any way to adjust the unit so it closes or maybe replace the felt seal that is on the perimeter. Since I live in AZ, its not a a major deal, but it is annoying none the less. Let me know what you think.

View 4 RepliesI put on new Power Stop drilled and slotted rotors with Hawk ceramic pads. I did the brake in runs and could feel the stopping power improving. When I got back to the house I looked at the rotors and I noticed that on the driver's side the pads are not parallel to the rotor. They are hitting on the outer edge of the outboard side and the inner edge (closest to the hub) on the inboard side. Took it all back apart and I can't see and reason for this. Double checked all the mating surfaces and didn't see any problems. I torqued the caliper brackets to 150 ftlbs and the lug nuts also to 150 ftlbs. Is it a problem the caliper sliders?
