Looking for detailed instructions to remove the RH tail light from the '06 Prius? I reviewed the '07 Prius tail light removal discussion [URL] .... but I'm stuck at the step where I need to remove the long bolt. What should I do now?
View 4 RepliesI have a hairline crack (with some starring) on my left rear tail light of my 2006 Prius touring. Any good glue or compound to patch it up and prevent water/moisture/dirt from getting in there and still stay clear for light to shine through?
View 2 RepliesPurchased used 2006 and the left tail light does not work at times until I rotate the socket as if removing it. This happens frequently and then after about 3 weeks the bulb blows. I've confirmed the there is no socket terminal issue and no intermittent opens in the wiring to the socket. The buld internal glass blackens as if it is running too hot but the voltage measures slightly over 12V when I've measured it. The bulbs are rated at 13V. At this point the only thing I can think of is there must be an occasional high voltage spike that hits the left tail light but not the right tail light.

View 7 RepliesI have a 1997 F150. I installed a trailer towing kit round 7 pin. I followed the instruction and replaced three different fuses after installation. The passenger side turn signal will not work. I replaced the bulb. The brake light works and the bulb is on when the lights are on it just will not blink. When the turnsignal is on it clicks very quickly.
View 4 RepliesI need to replace one of the tailights on my wife's '06 RX330. It's one of the inboard tailights that, along with a backup light, is contained in a module in the rear liftgate.
How to remove the module for access to the lights? I see a screw/nut that apparently must be removed first, but after removing it, I couldn't tell whether module pulled straight out (or forward when the liftgate is closed), if it pulled to the side of the car, or if there's another fastener I missed. I don't want to pull the wrong way and break something......

5. No power at the bulb socket on either tail lamp
6. Tail lamp ground in both bulb sockets is fine
7. Fuse under dash is not blown
8. All brake lights work fine.
9. All other lights working.
My passenger side tail light (the upper part above the reverse lights) don't light up when you press on the break. Or rather, they light up, but just not as bright as the driver side. I took the car to the dealership and they told me they'd need to replace the entire tail light and I just wanted to see if that was indeed the case.
View 3 RepliesMaybe I should just give up and be happy with the standard bulbs, but I had to try putting in led bulbs. While doing this the bulb I had was just a little to long. It popped of the reflector that sits on the red plastic piece and is now resting in the bottom of the housing. Is there a way of putting it back on with out destroying it or getting a new assembly.

Next day 10a fuse blew again and then 2 more times in same day. My tail lights go out and license plate light go out together when this happens. What can I do?
Got flagged by a fellow driver, and told both tail lights were out; I had no dashboard warning light. Headlights were on, blinkers worked, brake lights worked. This is a small deal, but I was surprised; is there really no warning for this (2006 mid-package), or is something else the matter?
View 15 RepliesI have a 2008 Generation II Touring Edition Prius. Someone informed me that my passenger side tail light was not working. I ordered some red LEDs to replace the suspected burned out bulb. When I opened up the trap door from the inside of the rear and when I checked on the bulb, it lit up. (Thought that it had loosened itself?)
When my LEDs arrived, I unplugged the bulbs (right and left) and attempted to replace the old bulbs. The LEDs would not light up. And now the bulbs will not work either.
I went to the auto parts store and bought replacement 2825 bulbs. No go. Is there a fuse that may have blown? Or ??? I don't have a tool to check for voltage - what is my next step?
We have a 2007 Prius and have been very happy with it overall. The right rear tail light keeps burning out and we keep taking it back to the local Toyota dealer for replacement, but they have been very good about it. Though an annoyance, if that was the only problem we had I would not be here right now typing this.
Today my wife was driving and came to an intersection at a red light to make a right-hand turn. She braked coming into the turn and as she made the turn. What happened next scared her and is very concerning to us -

View 3 RepliesMy buddy install a BPD air/oil oil cooler in his 2003 F250 last week and now there is coolant pouring out the tail pipe. I haven't seen it but he tells me there is quite a bit coming out. It wasn't doing this before we installed the BPD oil cooler. Normally I would say bad EGR cooler but his EGR is deleted. This is the 3rd BPD cooler I've put in and this is the first time I've had any issues after the install. The install went smooth other than we broke the radiator and had to install a new one. I feel bad cause I'm hoping it wasn't something I caused but I just can't think of anything I did during this install that would cause coolant to be getting into the exhaust. He just had it towed to the local Ford dealership.
