I have slightly over 1000 on my new Prius and have been resetting the Trip Counter A at the last couple fill-ups. But the display doesn't show the MPG. How can this be fixed?

View 7 RepliesFor the past 2 days, when I press the button to start my Prius after it's been in the garage all night (mid 40s-50s temp), I'll get only the seat belt light displayed - or the seat belt light then the others will slowly fade in! And sometimes the entire "Hybrid System" indicator display doesn't show up at all. And it won't start or, if it does, won't shut off.
If it does start, and I drive then park and turn it off, when I go to start it after just a few minutes, say at the grocery store, everything comes on fine.
I recently purchased an '09 Prius. When driving, the MFD shows the trip info/MPG stats. If I want it to show audio or climate, I can press the button the dash and that info will be displayed. However, shortly thereafter (10-15 seconds maybe? maybe less?), the screen reverts to showing trip info/MPG stats.
I'd like to have my display remain on whatever I select - be in audio, climate, or trip info. How to make this happen?
Aside from spending $ to have the polarity reversed on the HVAC display, is there anything be done to darken the display letters and numerals? In the daylight this thing is unreadable. Very poor design by Toyota. Any little tricks that I don't know about?
View 4 RepliesI have notice that all the FM stations will show-up in the cluster display but AM will not . When I use the Knurled wheel on AM it will not scroll the select stations. Also can you program AM and FM effects in memory?

View 3 RepliesNear the speedometer and gauge cluster, I've flipped through the menus using the steering wheel controls and one option I see is speed.
I was under the impression I could see my actual speed digitally displayed. But it seems to show in small print my average speed. Is there a way to make it digitally show my speed?
I have the factory keyless entry/start. When using one of my key fobs most of the time the display will show key not found and the battery is good.
View 3 RepliesI'm driving so we all know what that means. Useless nav. So I decide to give the voice recognition a try just for the heck of it, since I know my garmin will give me the answer I need within seconds. So I ask the nav to find nearest ATM. It understood me perfectly, but NO MATCHES FOUND! Really. No atms?
The garmin came up with at least 10 matches within a mile of where I was (which was downtown Orlando Florida btw, not like I'm in the middle of some unpopulated desert or something.) So far I have not.
I didn't run over any nuns or children while I was using the garmin either. The speed lockout crap pipes me off to no end, but I guess it's irrelevant now that I know that the nav is completely non functional anyways. Looking forward to seeing what after market navs will be compatible with 2012's. The only thing of interest I have seen on that screen is the 30 minute mpg bar-graph which I would gladly live without for a working system though.
So I'm doing a 24hour test drive on a 2014 Prius Two that may be replacing my 2007 Prius Touring (aka Package 5) that has a failing hybrid battery and so far I'm happy. I miss having a backup camera and premium audio but at $17000 I don't want to pay any more. Right now I just have a simple question... how do I show the energy monitor on the dash (top screen)? I even downloaded the manual but when I press the Display button on the steering wheel the only thing I can get to is "SETTINGS 3.11.16". I went into settings but didn't find anything that stood out... so I'm lost already...
View 11 RepliesJust purchased 2010 lll w/ Nav and backup cam. Although the cam works fine it doesn't show a grid. I drove a 2008 w/ cam and that did show a grid. The salesman stated some camera's did show it and others don't.

1. My battery icon is never totally full. Does that last bar ever show up? I doubt it's an issue, but figure if the charge is low now....
2. I've filled four times, and each time the computer shows mileage about 5% better than the actual purchase of gas calculates out. So I'm wondering if the calculation is a little high, of if my gas station is "a little off." I plan to use a few gas stations and compare the results.
Yesterday I reset the MPG on the odometer and today I notice the outside temp display only show the two dashes - - and no numbers. Did I messed something up? I read the manual but can not find anything about outside temp display ??

Any technical difference between turning the ECO diplay "on" or "off" when setting display options? I know when "off", the ECO sign does not show but does it also mean the car runs differently? Is this just a way to avoid having that thing show up?

View 10 RepliesI am a new owner and still try to figure out how to display MPG on my Prius. I am not sure how to do that. i can see after shut down the engine, the display show mpg and cost and millage... I am not sure how to re-display that? or if i can show the mpg from reset to reset?
