Having issues with the rear tail lights will not shut off when you turn off the car? This all happened at the same time but I'm not sure what it is???
1. The traction control dash light comes on and stays on.
2. The cruise control stopped working.
3. The rear tail lights won't shut off even when the car is off.
I have a 2011 Sonata Limited, and have had no problems with it until now - the low gas light came on while I drove to work with the fuel gauge showing more than half a tank just before that.
I stopped at a gas station and put $10 of gas in just to be sure it wasn't wrong, but started it up again and the light stayed on.
A week into owning my Sonata, I noticed the right tail light had become ajar, with the plastic fittings completely snapped off.
I had to take it to the dealership to get it serviced, whatever, problem solved. Right? Yesterday, the left tail light snapped off in the same way.
I have not been hit or gotten into any kind of accident for that matter. I got it serviced again today and asked if this was some kind of a defect in the car.
For both tail lights to snap off is really a mystery to me.
He has a 98 F150 4x4 and the tail lights are staying on all the time. I had him to replace the pressure switch(I think that's what it is called) but that didn't solve the problem. So now he has been taking the fuse out every time he stops, just so the lights will go off. When he puts the fuse back in, the tail lights stay on all the time, but his widows will not roll down. The windows roll down when the brake fuse is out.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 Sonata for 4 years. In the past year I've experienced the ABS, Brake, TC lights staying on. Then had a bad battery and a headlight go out. Got all that done but after 4 months on new battery, it failed, and the 3 lights came on again. According to codes, dealer says the issue is a valve and they cannot give an estimate for repair but to tear down the valve and probe to find it, will cost me $132. That doesn't set well with me so I elected to drive on with lights on. They did say the battery & headlight issues were not related to the 3 lights staying on.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Limited. The rear defroster light on the dash does not light up. The rear window defroster DOES work, but the light does not light up. I took it to the Hyundai dealer and they ordered and replaced some module. They saw the light still did not light up. The service manager said she called other dealers and discovered that none of the 2012 Sonata rear defroster lights lit up, so concluded it was supposed to be that way.

The light on the dash was on and all the other tail lights worked. Before I had to leave I quickly looked for the headlight fuse(s). Where to find it(them)? I may have to drive home after dark and will need headlights.

View 4 RepliesI got a ghost light kit for my 2013 Sonata GLS. Installing the front door lights was simple. Since the rear doors don't have courtesy light it's a bit of a challenge for me. s there another wire I can tap into somewhere that would allow this light to work?
View 3 RepliesMy 1999 GMC Sonoma has a occaisonal problem--the tail lights stay lit after the light switch and the ignition are turned off. The brake pedal does not appear to be sticking. The cure has been to remove both light bulbs, wait a few minutes, plug them back in, and all is well. This might happen an average of once a month, seems more common in hot weather.

I had him to replace the pressure switch(I think that's what it is called ) anyways, that didn't work. So now he takes out the fuse every time he turns off the truck, just so the lights will go out. But, when he puts the brake fuse back in, the brakes work fine, but his windows will not roll down. I am totally confused with what is going on.

View 2 RepliesEngine make a sucking noise when turned off? My engine sounds fine but when I open the hood and turn it off I can hear it make a sucking sound almost like its releasing pressure. I can only hear it when im outside and someone turns the car off. Is this normal? Also, how often do you all add coolant? I added mine to full maybe like 5 months ago and today when I added oil to the car it was down to the halfway mark. I hadn't run the car all day and just moved it inside the garage. Does the car not running make the fluid drop or could I have a leak?

View 28 RepliesHaving issue when turn steering wheel so slightly either way there is a clunking in the wheel? I took my car in for some maintenance yesterday and 1 was to look into seeing what it was. They said a couple of cars came in like mine and it was a gear on the end of the column that the teeth are worn or even broke. The gear isn't expensive but the labor is. I am also getting the 60k mileage service as well. I should've gotten the extended warranty. Gonna be about 650.00 but i love the car and i`m planning on keeping it and once its done the wife gets a new one, i keep this and get rid of our 98 malibu.

View 13 RepliesI have a 2011 Sonata Limited that now has 70k+ miles on it. For the past year I have been having a problem with the car turning off intermittently, it will occur at random times. I have had no issues starting the car whatsoever.
When I go to shut off my car the engine will turn off, but the cabin lights, and radio will stay on. The screen will also tell me to shift to park. Without turning the car fully on, I can shift the gears sometimes and I will shift it from drive to park again, and it still will not fully shut off. Today, it actually took 20 minutes to get it to go off - every time I hit the start/stop button I could hear it click as well, which was a new noise that I hadn't detected.
I have presented this problem to the dealership, but every time I do take it in the issue never seems to occur while there (just my luck) and they say they have "never heard of such an issue" to the point where I feel insane.
All recalls have been taken care of on my car at this point so I am not sure what the issue is, my fear is the switch is going out, but wouldn't I have the same issue starting the car?
Just bought my 5th Camry... a 2011 LE model.
Hate the LED tails, but I can live with them if I must.
Very disappointed the tails have red turn signals.

I have a 2011 Jetta TDI and the drivers side tail light on the trunk is out. I opened the trunk and popped the cover off the rear of the tail light and it seems the connector is loose. I tried for about 10 or so minutes to get it back into place but I couldn't. I don't know if the connector is broken or if my hands are just too large to fit into the area. I plan on taking it back to the dealership to get them to fix it. I just picked up the car. Is this a sign of wiring issues or just someone at the factory jamming a connector into a hole so they could move on a couple of seconds faster?
