I'm hearing something that sounds like a squeaky hamster wheel sound from the front passenger footwell area. It often sounds like there's a trickling sound as well. What's wrong - is this normal? (Its fairly loud at times). It seems to correlate with cold weather.
View 7 RepliesI have an 2012 Accent that is sitting at 35k miles. I just got the 30,000 service done and a few days after I started to hear this ticking sound along with a squeak. The car can be idle or moving, squeak still there. It's sporadic though. Sometimes I can go 20-30 miles without hearing it and then all of a sudden I start hearing the ticking squeak. It sounds like its coming below the front passenger side of the car. It doesn't matter how fast I'm going, it's a ticking squeak that just comes and goes, but when it comes, it usually sticks around until I turn the car off and let it cool down. If i start the car right after, the squeaking comes back, but if I let the car cool down (overnight, for example), the squeak goes away until I drive 20-30 miles. I commute to work about 40 miles each way (80 miles total) every day so I can definitely hear it and it's bothersome.
View 5 RepliesI purchased a 2014 Santa Fe 2.0T last June. Has been an awesome car up until about 2 weeks ago. I started to notice a squeaky rattle sound coming from somewhere around the rear passenger door. I've tried pressing on things, checking all the door pockets and can't seem to find it. Looked at the front mud flap in front of the rear tire and it's tight. It only does it when I get above 45 MPH and is sporadic. I'm afraid the dealer won't be able to replicate the problem.
View 5 RepliesIt just started and it it only does it at speeds over 40 miles or so. It comes on all of a sudden when driving sometimes. It gets a little louder when coming off the throttle as well.

View 6 RepliesI have a 2004 camry xle with a V6 motor and it had 38k miles on it. Recently I'm starting to hear a weird sound coming from the front passenger dash area during the initial move off. It will happened when I drive the car at a speed of 5-10 mph after it has been stationary for at least 4 hrs. The sound itself sounds like something is moving and follow by at "clunk" sound, indicating that it has seated properly. All this last for maybe 1-2 sec during the initial move off and did not return for the rest of the drive. This weird sound become slightly louder on colder temperature. The car runs well and shifts well.
I had my tranny flushed by a toyota dealership, rack and pinion replaced and passenger side drive shaft replaced, before this weird sound started.

There's a pronounced rattling sound coming from the front passenger area (I think), and you can hear it when the radio is playing. I booked an appointment at the local dealership, but the appointment was just cancelled because an "interior technician" is not available on weekends. Not only that, they said I may have to leave the vehicle at the dealership overnight, and that no courtesy car would be provided. Personally, I think that's complete BS - you don't need a P.Eng to diagnose a rattle, and what dealership doesn't have a courtesy car?
So, I'm curious to know if others have experienced anything similar, and if they've had any luck correcting interior rattles. I previously had a minor clicking sound in the overhead console area (bluetooth, lights, etc.), but that was quickly fixed at a different dealership.
Having issue with body squeaking ? . I am getting a squeaking sound coming from around the passenger rear door /body area of my 2010 Passat. Car has 10K miles and has been doing this since around 6K miles. Not noticeable unless going over uneven pavement or railroad tracks but it is annoying. Never had any body squeaks from a new car lite this. Have not been to the dealer with this issue yet.
View 6 RepliesNoisy Fuel Pump ??? At least that's what I think it is. Pretty prominent whirring going on, sounds like it's coming from the rear passenger area. Dealer listened to it, agreed something was up. No immediate answer, will have to schedule service.
View 4 RepliesGurgling/percolating sounds, car started making a few weeks ago. The sound is coming from deep inside our front dash area. We do plan on bringing it to our local VW dealers attention at next scheduled oil change. I started getting this noise as well about a month ago. My passengers commented about sounding like someone sawing inside the dashboard. I do like the percolating description better...
This is different than the other "running water" sound that you get when initially turning the car on. I was told that was normal.... This percolating sound happens while driving and I noticed that it does have the pattern of happening when at slow speeds or stopped in traffic (after driving fast for a while).
So I have a hissing sound (kind of what the vacuum cleaner makes when air path is obstructed with debris) coming from passenger side foot area. The easiest way to hear it is to turn on HVAC and put the fan on the lowest setting so the sound of the fan does not interfere with the noise.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Sport with a six-speed manual trans and an in-line 4.0 6-cyl engine. I discovered a month or so ago a strange rattling sound coming from, what sounded like, the front passenger wheel area. It would occur when I slowed down to 10mph or slower or when coming to a complete stop, or when starting out from a stop, until surpassing the 10-12mph mark. The rattle is audible both inside and outside the vehicle. It's a low-pitched sound like an "aaaaaahhhh" you make when opening wide for the doctor to look down your throat, only with a metallic rattle thrown in. Best way I know to describe it is a voice saying "aaaaahhhhh" through the back of a fan.
I recently discovered, when I took it in for an oil change and tire rotation, that my front tires were wearing much faster than the backs and had a very noticeable "choppiness" to the tread. I have since installed new shock absorbers on both sides of the front suspension in hopes that would even the ride out for the front and eliminate the choppy tire wear. I originally thought that the tire wear and the rattle were related, but I took it to a mechanic who raised the front end and hand-spun both front tires and they made no audible sounds while spinning.
The mechanic said he believes that the rattle is coming from the front differential. Now, I am no pro mechanic, but I am not afraid to tackle a car repair job as long as I know I have the tools I need at hand to properly complete the job. First of all, does the differential sound like a good place to look? There's no change in the rattle when applying or releasing the clutch and it shifts smoothly, so I am pretty certain it's not in the transmission. Is the differential something that I could remove the cover and adequately diagnose a problem on my own? Just don't have funds available for a large car repair bill, so I am looking at trying to tackle the issue myself.
Every time I am pressing the brake pedal, I hear a distinct clicking sound coming from passenger front Brake Caliper Area.
I have applied brake grease (green) to the pad shim.
I have replaced the spring sets on each front caliper.

My 05 Supercrew 4X4 with 172k miles started making a horrible noise these last couple days. It sounds like its coming from the front passenger side area. The best I can describe is that it sounds like an electric tool motor with bad bearings. I'll be driving along at 45mph or above and every now and then I'll hear a really bad bearing squeal. It's bad enough that I can feel the extra friction caused by the squeal start to slow my truck down. It's vehicle speed related. I know what a bad wheel bearing sounds like and this is nothing like that. It's gotten bad enough I'm nervous to drive anywhere.
View 4 RepliesSo I already changed the Driver Side upper Control arm. But there is still squeaky noises coming from the trunk area, esp at low speeds going over small hills and small pot holes. I saw this is common on our cars and wanted to know which parts were to be replaced. At 110k, is it worth repairing piece by piece or should I do the shocks, ball joints and such at once.
View 1 RepliesI've successfully managed to ignore the clicking noise coming from the vent system long enough that it eventually went away but I now have no air coming out from the footwell area on both the driver and passenger side. I am guessing that the diverter flap mechanism has either simply broken or is mechanically frozen in a certain position.
The air flow to the dash and defrost vents is fine. If I manually set the system to have all air come from the lower vents, there is a loud wind noise as the air is trying to force its way around a closed flap. Is this an easy fix or another expensive and problematic trip to the dealer?
Every time I push the pedal I hear a faint high pitched squeak ?
Also cargo area has a rattling sound that increases at highway speeds.

I was coming home from a trip and started to here this banging sound coming from the passenger side in the front under the vehicle. It already sounds like it busted up some gears cause you can here it being tossed around inside the casing. The vehicle will drive but once I get to around 10 mph it would start banging sounding like gears are messed up.
There is no binding there is nothing that makes the car slower but something is broke. I am wondering if there is a gear box under there near the center console and over to the passenger side in the front. Funny thing is... Is that it started in the back rear but stopped then the front started and then broke something. The back is fine though. Think this could be the All wheel drive also or some part of it.
I have 2002 BMW 325xi (all wheel drive). For about 2-3 months now there is a squeaky noise coming from passenger side front wheel. It sounds like a really bad and rusty coil spring but the weird part is that that noise only appears in warm weather. It has nothing to do with how much distance I drive. If it is 70 odd degrees or warmer outside, the noise starts. In warm weather, the car does not have to be running/moving to hear the noise. I can just push down the passenger side front and hear the noise. I took to a mechanic and he wants me to replace tie rods, control arm and struts. basically the whole suspension system on the front for this noise (in other words, he does not know what exactly is making the noise, so replace everything)
View 5 RepliesI just bought a 2007 LS460L. 've noticed a squeaky sound coming from the wheels at about 10-20 MPH but then it goes away. I bought this car from Land Rover Cerritos so i can't imagine that they sold me a car with worn brakes.
