I just bought a 2007 LS460L. 've noticed a squeaky sound coming from the wheels at about 10-20 MPH but then it goes away. I bought this car from Land Rover Cerritos so i can't imagine that they sold me a car with worn brakes.
View 3 RepliesThe last issue I have to tackle with the GS450h is a knocking sound coming from what seems the front wheels and mostly the right wheel. This is when driving over a ditch or uneven road like a cobblestone road.
This issue was present before the RSR down sus springs were installed (i.e. in factory setup) but has since gotten more obvious, probably due to the more rigid suspension. Initially I thought it may have been the brake pads, however when braking harder (beyond regenerative braking system) it remains present. So I think the brakes can be ruled out.
The suspension and wheel setup have been checked by the Lexus dealer three times now and by a suspension specialist. None of them could find a thing wrong with it. What it may be?
When I pick up my car I feel this vibration coming from my wheels. It only happens around the first and second gears. Once the car is fast there is no more issue. It also doesn't happen when I pick the car up slowly. If I go even a bit fast I hear this rotating like noise and vibration. What it could be?

View 4 RepliesI have an 2012 Accent that is sitting at 35k miles. I just got the 30,000 service done and a few days after I started to hear this ticking sound along with a squeak. The car can be idle or moving, squeak still there. It's sporadic though. Sometimes I can go 20-30 miles without hearing it and then all of a sudden I start hearing the ticking squeak. It sounds like its coming below the front passenger side of the car. It doesn't matter how fast I'm going, it's a ticking squeak that just comes and goes, but when it comes, it usually sticks around until I turn the car off and let it cool down. If i start the car right after, the squeaking comes back, but if I let the car cool down (overnight, for example), the squeak goes away until I drive 20-30 miles. I commute to work about 40 miles each way (80 miles total) every day so I can definitely hear it and it's bothersome.
View 5 RepliesI purchased a 2014 Santa Fe 2.0T last June. Has been an awesome car up until about 2 weeks ago. I started to notice a squeaky rattle sound coming from somewhere around the rear passenger door. I've tried pressing on things, checking all the door pockets and can't seem to find it. Looked at the front mud flap in front of the rear tire and it's tight. It only does it when I get above 45 MPH and is sporadic. I'm afraid the dealer won't be able to replicate the problem.

View 14 RepliesI have an intermittent sound coming from my engine. It shows up out of nowhere and could last 20 seconds to 2 minutes. Because it's intermittent, I can't seem to pinpoint where it's coming from. Sound file is attached.
It's a 2008 with 79K miles.
2007 Lexus ES350 has screeching/squeaking brakes when the car is in reverse. Is this a simple fix or a costly brake repair job?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2010 LS 460 Sport and recently noticed that there is a faint water sound coming from behind the glove box every time I accelerate from standstill and sometimes when the car is idle and the A/C is on. My initial thinking was that it is some sort of a clog in the A/C drain, and that's what I told my service supervisor at the most recent service at a Lexus dealership. They said that they could not find anything except for a bit of debris in the A/C drain, which they blew out, however the noise is still there. The best way that I can describe the noise is that it's similar to a noise that a rainstick makes.

yesterday I heard a faint rattle coming from under the hood while the a/c was on, when I had my son turn it off, it went away. Right now it's barely noticeable, but I don't want it to turn into something major. I own a '08 ES with 88,000 miles and all my service is done at the dealership.
View 1 RepliesJust came back from a ride and since it's getting pretty warm here I decided to drive with open windows. At low speed I noticed a unusual squeak coming from the rear passenger wheel when I got over small potholes. This part of the car seems to shake really fast a few time before settling. I can also hear a drum like vibration in the car coming from that corner. I can feel an unusual bounce which take time to settle when it happen. I'm no expert but from what I read the usual suspect should be either a defective shock of broken control arm ? I'll get a nearby garage to take a look next week. Gotta admit, like some members pointed out, I'm surprised to see those kind of issues on a car which didn't even broke the 45000 miles mark yet... And that's for a car that I take really good care of and not used as a daily driver.

A $3000plus fix that is not in the budget nor will it ever be!..After doing some research trying to figure out what the actuator does i stumble across this Lexus technician PDF ...
..It clearly states on page 2 that "If a Toyota ABS system malfuctions, normal braking will not be affected!...My worry has never been the sound it makes,.. but that of me not being able to brake when needed!!...

I am working on a 96 ranger 2wd the front brakes were shot or nearly so,about 1/8 in left and cracked. Changed them this morning at 5am because that is the cool of the day (104 today) everything up front works fine but the howling and nails across the chalk board from the back was still there. Took it to my freindly les schwab and they told me it needed axle seals on one side and the noise is from the gear lube on the shoes. they wanted 800 bucks to fix everything, went and bought new shoes,new seals,gear oil,and gasket for rear end cover it is an easy half hour job. As I was driving home tonight from the parts store the noise stopped so now i am worried either it was a rock stuck between the drum and backing plate or something broke. everything sounds and works fine....

View 6 RepliesSometimes when driving I hear a light squeaking sound coming from the front wheel area. When i drive slow, it is a slow squeak, and when I go fast, the squeaking speeds up. I am thinking about spraying some wd-40 or silicone lubricant behind the wheel to lubricate the area to see if it solves my problem. I will be sure not to get any near the brake area but my question is, does spray wd-40 under the chassis or around the control arm area to stop those annoying squeaking sounds?
