I've just had a brake controller fitted to my 2006 Treg R5. Everything is working fine however when braking both of the caravan indicator lights also come on too (but not on my treg). The tow bar was fitted by the VW dealer and the brake controller was fitted by my local tow bar specialist. After spending two and a half hours checking wiring etc yesterday, we're no closer to a fix .
View 7 RepliesI purchased a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country Dec 2003. I noticed an intermittent problem with my gear shift indicator lights PDRNL were all lighting up when I would start the vehicle in February 2004. I would have to play with the shift lever a few times to get it into gear.
On Feb 26, 2004 the vehicle would not start at all, would not even turn over. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. It had 3500 miles at the time. The error code was PO706 check shifter signal. They said it was the transmission range sensor and replaced it. I had no problems for 2000 miles until I was in northern Michigan and the gear shift indicator lights started doing the same thing.
I brought it to a local Chrysler dealership the next morning and they scanned the following codes PO1791 loss of prime PO705 check shifter signal BCM stored TCM message not received FCM stored TCM communication fault DSD stored incomplete power voltage. This dealership checked connections and wiring harness which were okay so advised me to take it back to my dealership at home since they would have to tear the whole van down to figure out what was wrong and any parts they would need would not get there before I left for home.
Luckily, I made it home with only one incident with these lights coming on. My dealership had the same error code PO706 and also PO444. Here is what their repair order states "DTC PO706 shift signal fault. Front pump allowing torque convertor to bleed down IPM internally shorted causing intermittent shift signal errors and PO444 and PO706. Scan and perform trans diag and fluid level full R & I the transmission R & I the pan and valve body replace the filter R & I the front pump and replace the front pump and torque convertor called STAR about intermittent loss of shift signal was told to replace the IPM. Replace the IPM (power distribution center) retest ok at this time."
So here is my question....I am very worried with all that I am reading about transmission problems and this van has only 6500 miles and all these parts that they have had to replace already is really scaring me!
How do you reset this check lights indicator in the MFI. I installed my euroswitch and 4 yr. old son pulled the switch all the way to turn on the rear fogs and thus...the error code.
View 1 RepliesI'm running a euro switch on my 05 V8 and I just noticed some weird battery fluctuations for specific light configurations.
In particular, if I run the parking lights (without the headlights)and the front fog lights together, the battery indicator jumps around between 13 and 14 on the console readout. For any other position on the euro switch, the battery charge indicator stays locked onto 14 (where I would expect it to be). I can reproduce the issue easily and haven't found another direct cause. There haven't been any other battery symptoms that I've noticed, so this one seems a bit peculiar.
The cruise control quit working on my 2007 Town and Country. The indicator light in the instrument cluster flashes but won't stay on. If I have the ignition switch on but the engine off the light will come on and stay on.

View 4 RepliesBack in June I replaced all 4 brakes and rotors. Now all of sudden I hear a loud grinding noise in the front end only when I'm braking to a complete stop.
I took all 4 tires off and then took off the pads. The pads and rotors are all still brand new and have very minor normal wear. Also the calipers still look good.
I then put everything back together and went for a test drive. The grinding noise is still there. It's very loud and only when I come to a complete stop.
I get a grinding type of sound when I am braking but only when I come to a complete stop and then again when I release the brake. It is only for a second but it is loud and doesn't sound good. What could be wrong. It also is much worse when it rains.
View 4 RepliesMy Touareg has Daytime running lights, and they are functioning, however the DRL indicator is not illuminated. Is it supposed to be illuminated all the time or only when the DRL malfunctions? If it is supposed to be on all the time, could it be a VAG-COM adjustable issue? The DLR in the instrument cluster never comes on, not even during start-up.
View 2 RepliesYesterday ,when I got in the car an indicator lit up in the MFI saying Key battery not found. and a key symbol came on on top of the MFI screeen,and stayed on . Car started and ran fine.When I stopped and restarted the car all disappeared and normal. I could not find this key symbol at all in our manuals.

Is there some kind of indication light that comes on that lets you know the heat is on , I can't see any indication ,and it seems dumb to not have one . Like having heated seats w/o a indicator light and having to wait till your butt heats up to see if they're on.
View 2 Repliesi just installed a low level adapter for a subwoofer in my Egg (non-vav). As i was reinserting the radio the hood indicator came on about 1" before "clicking" into place. I heard this could be a microsensor telling the alarm the radio is missing. I also had the interior lights shut on and off as i was working on to fix the problem.
View 8 RepliesI have a door closed indicator that is malfunctioning. The rub is I am leaving for a trip tomorrow and will be over warranty by the time I return. I have 49600 miles now and will add 800 over the WE. I have call VWOA and they are non-committal as to whether they will cover or not. I can show the dealer but they will not be able to look at until next week.
View 5 RepliesAll's going well for 10 miles and then I suddenly notice, the in-dash flasher indicator, is not working or clicking as I change lanes. The outside mirrors are fine - showing turn flashes. So, I pull off into a gas station and shut down the whole electric system, and pull the key out.
I reboot and start up, but still no change. I try to put the emergency button off/on...it works fine. I move the flasher stick back and forth. But still no turn flasher indicator, on the inside dash. So, I guess it's a blown fuse and I will attend to it Sunday in daylight. We go to the restaurant, have dinner and get back into this scrambled egg. I stick the key in and ACHTUNG IT WORKS!
How do you remove rear turn indicator assembly so bulb can be changed?. Specifically is there another screw besides the two on the end of the assembly. Once the two are removed the assembly is loose but something is still holding the assembly.

View 5 RepliesOn my 4WD selector, the small icon that shows the 4 wheels with 2 of them angled (the right most choice if turning the knob) is showing up in my info center on my 2004 Touareg. As well, all the lights on that 4WD selector know are blinking. I can't find anything about this in the manual.
View 1 RepliesI started my Treg this morning and let it warm up for several minutes. I noticed on the lcd right above the temperature I had a graphic of the low 4 wheel drive symbol. Also the lights on the control wheel (where you would put it into low 4 wheel) by the gear shift was blinking on and off. So I drove it for awhile and I knew I wasn't in low 4 wheel. I stopped and turned off the engine and turned it back on. It was normal. this has happened 3 times now. Only when starting cold. I would then turn it off then back on and the symbol and the blinking would stop.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2006 Grand Caravan 3.8 that just stalled at a set of lights yesterday and have had it towed back to the shop here. I turns over and starts briefly then will die and then just turn over strongly. I cleaned the throttle body and IAC but this did not work. I connected fuel pressure tester and have no pressure when turn key on or turn it over.
The fuse and relay check out ok, so I'm thinking bad or clogged fuel pump.
I have a 2004 Caravan out back that I have used for other small parts to interchange before and was wondering whether or not the fuel pumps between these two are compatible. Be a lot of work to pull the one off the one in the yard, only to find out its not going to fit.
My friend has a 2005 Tdi touareg (WVGZZZ7LZ5D053023). The low range indicator in the instrument cluster keeps on popping, the low range and high range indicator in the center console near the gear shift lever keeps on blinking at the same time. Driving the touareg was really slow, and the low and high range still keeps on blinking. There is no MIL appearing on the instrument cluster but scanning with VAG COM reveals this fault code below. I tried erasing the fault code but it keeps on coming back after a few seconds.
