So my dash turn indicator light flashes really fast (sometimes), and I have no brake lights (no left, no right, no high mount center), no rear hazard lights, and no rear signal lights. I do have tail lights. Fuses are good. What could be the problem? 2001 Ford F-350, 7.3L Powerstroke.

View 2 RepliesI use to have the 95 f150 and 94 danger ranger. And I tried logging on after about a year and wouldn't let me so i started a new one, But im in a 98 f150 now with a 5.4 and 4x4. No i saw that there was a guy with the same problem as me but the thread went no where. So one night out of the blue my head lights or high beams will turn on. But everything else will. And all fuses are good and i look at the manual and there's no replays to mess with. Even though i already did. So what i had to do to get home was hot wire the passenger side bulb and i got power to both lights. So whats going on do u think it can be the switch ?. My power with started acting up a few days before this but I don't know if that has anything to do with the head lights.
View 13 RepliesDad borrowed truck and wired 7 pin trailer harness. Lights worked on truck/trailer for use but upon return the turn signals didnt work. Hazards and running and brake lights did work. Replaced TS flasher and Haz flasher. Still no signals. Pulled steering wheel and replaced turn signal cam only, not whole switch. Now no brake lights, no rear hazards or turn signals. Losing my marbles trying to follow schematic and using test light and mulit meter. All bulbs and fuses are good. Running lights and head lights working as well.

View 2 RepliesI have 04 6.0 with 247,000 on it. Just rebuilt all 8 injectors 3 months ago been running great since then. Jump into my truck yesterday morning go to turn the key over and all the lights on the dash came on for a second then they were off same with the fuel pump I only heard it for a second before turning off. The truck won't crank at all. My windows work, radio works and cab lights work. My headlights are out and my cab charm is not making any sound. I've check all my relays and fuses nothing bad there I've also replace my ignition switch and the ignition it self is good. I'm think it's a bad ground some where I just need finding the right one.
View 14 RepliesWell, on our way home during my leave, the wife made the comment about halfway home that the blinkers had quit working. I assumed it was probably a fuse or relay, so we came on home. I have been looking at it for a few days now (too hot to spend too much time out crawling around under the dash ) and I am still having some trouble. My brake lights, and hazards are not working, and neither is the cruise, which was working fine while I drove before the blinkers went out.
I have no power at all to the flasher relay. I replaced the brake light switch because it was definitely worn and looked a little burned inside when I pulled it out and inspected, but still nothing. Have not found any fuses blown. Brake pressure switch fused link harness seems good with my test light. Wipers, brights, everything else on the turn signal switch works fine. Can't even get the cruise to go into diagnostic mode, it only blinks once when I try.
I have checked all fuses, checked wires on top of steering column all checked out ok. Hazards work but when I press brake tail lights just blink with no brake light but the 3rd brake light works??? Signal switch maybe??
View 14 Replies1991 F250 Supercab Diesel 4X4. I made a mistake while wiring up my trailer lights and ended up grounding out my brake controller, frying it. Along with that, I popped a couple fuses as well (1, 5 and 9 I believe). Replaced all fuses and got my signals (F/R) back at least.
Here's what's NOT working/messed up:
*Brake Lights
*Cruise Control
*Rear ABS light comes on a few minutes after driving.
*Front hazards work, not rear. When I apply the brake, the hazards pause in the on position.
I've tested the brake switch on the brake pedal (Green/Red and Green) and it works properly. So, current is obviously not reaching the rear brake lights.
Another note. The truck is wired with a 7 pin plug in the bed for a goose neck trailer. It also was wired to a 6 pin on the bumper. I replaced the 6 pin with a 7. The signal/brake pins on the plugs (both) and also not receiving power. What's the next thing to check?
Are there any fuses or relays that I could look for besides what the owners manual calls out? Haynes manual is useless w/this problem also. Everything else seems to work fine. Haven't tried the AC or heat, but my gauges, pwr locks and mirrors are all fine. I'm stuck w/the windows down and no tunes.
View 3 RepliesEvery time I step on the brakes, there is a bright spark in fuse #13. My brake lights, turn signals and hazards don't work. At this point my truck isn't drivable.
According to the owner's manual in my truck, says circuit #13 is for "stop lamps, CHMSL/hazard, trailer tow stop lamp, and speed control."
I'm assuming that the hazard part covers the turn signals as well, but I know the cruise control works even when the fuse is blown. I used it last night on the way home (this was before I realized I didn't have brake lights).
So I know I have a short somewhere. The only mods I've done to the lights are aftermarket headlights, but if the fuse only gets blown when I step on the brakes, I don't see what that would have to do with it. Also, the lights have been installed and working for about a month before this started. The only thing that I did around the same time was install the gauges. I ran the power to them from #5, the customer access circuit.
Are there any other "common" areas for this to happen? I already removed the rear brake lights and it didn't work. I am quickly running out of 20A mini fuses.
My sons 2006 F350 brake lights and rear turn signals quit working. When the headlights are on, all the lights operate but the rear turn signals and brake lights do not nor do the emergency flashers. The front signals work but flash very rapidly. Although I'm not an auto electrician, I'm fairly mechanically inclined but the fact that the front signals work, the rear don't and all lights work as lights, just not as turn signals or brake lights.
View 4 RepliesJust over 7000 miles all of a sudden I got this loud grinding noise in the rear end like a brake locked up. Pulled into a parking lot. Don't think it's brakes. Put the truck in reverse it got even louder for a second then it quieted down after that. Naturally this happened on a Saturday.
View 6 RepliesA few weeks back my rear drivers side wheel started smoking severely...when I stopped you could smell the brake material, feel the heat coming from the wheel, and lots of smoke. I speculated it was the parking brake that got hung up. I jiggled that cable around and then went around the block - no issue. Note: I did not leave the parking brake on.
It happened again a week later, but not as bad. I took it into the dealer today. They said heat was evident as it burned off a sticker on the disk or caliper hsg area. They have not determined yet if it is parking brake or caliper?
Both rear signal lights are out, so are brake lights. Driving lights work, so are high beam lights and all front turn signal lights. What should I check? I have done some research, but I could not locate the fuse or the relay flasher for my 2004 Malibu Maxx.
View 18 RepliesA month ago I got into my truck in the morning and when I turned the key to Run everything lit up like normal and after the glow plugs warmed up, I turned the key and there was about a two second delay between me turning the key and the engine cranking over.
The next couple times I tried starting the truck that same morning I had to try to start it a couple times because it wouldn't try to crank over the first couple times but it would always eventually start.
It's been continuing to give me problems but never stopped running once it was started and then this morning I tried starting it for 45 minutes with no luck.
What I have tried so far is:
Resetting batteries
Jumping the truck
Checked to see if the starter is getting power. ( I put wire testers on it while someone else started and I didn't get a good reading even when it did start. New starter was put in 9 months ago.)
I also made sure wire going to starter wasn't corroded
Battery terminals are also not corroded
Checked fuses
Tried starting truck with fan clutch disconnected
Cussing at it
Tapping starter with a hammer while trying to start it
Also, everything sounds perfectly normal when I turn the key, it just doesn't even try to turn over.
I drive a 98 Ford Contour Sport. When I was driving today, I signaled a left turn, and the signal began working erratically. This also happened with a right turn, and, since I deliver sandwiches, happened when I turned my hazards on. Throughout the day it got worse, and eventually stopped working. I'm willing to bet that it's a wiring issue since all of my fuses are fine.

The problem:
No rear brake lights.
No high mount brake light.
No rear turn signals.
No rear hazard flashing lights.
All trailer lights work.
All other truck lights work.
Things checked: Fuses all OK. Visual inspection of multi-function switch. Looks clean. Brake switch at brake pedal has power on one wire. Jumpered the other wire-no brake lights.
I need to haul my trailer and am nervous when I see a Savannah, GA metro police car.
Drivers side turn signal does not work, and blinks fast when turned on. The brake light on that side and hazards do not work. when I unlock the car with the remote, it lights up fine.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2004 F150 XLT and the passenger side tail light doesn't work whatsoever. The light does work for hazards, turn signal, or when braking. The passenger front turn signal works, so does the front and the driver sides tail light. Only the 1 tail light doesn't work. I bought a new brake light bulb and it didnt't fix it, so i swapped the drivers and passengers bulbs out, and it still didn't work. I replaced the 10 amp fuse (#36) in the fuse box. What is causing the problem.
View 2 RepliesSo I have an 04 F250 Super Duty 6.0L and suddenly the turn signals and hazards stopped working. First I replaced the switch on the steering column...no luck. Today I replaced the flasher relay under the dash panel (the blue one)...still no luck. I remember checking fuses in the fuse box but don't remember which ones I checked but I didn't see anything obvious. I also took a quick look under the dash at all the wires for any anomalies...nothing. I'm lost... What to do next!?
