Every time I start my 1999 Ford Explorer It makes a loud beeping noise similar to seatbelt warning sound. Every 30 minutes or so it does it again as long as the vehicle stays running(even with all seatbelts fastened even if no one is sitting in the seat.
View 1 RepliesI have a '99 Frontier (3.3L V6) just had the radiator, hoses, fan clutch and 3 exterior belts replaced. Car's not overheating anymore, BUT, now I hear intermittently a "clack" (which sounds similar to a loud compressor when it shuts on and off). Car never made this sound before the repairs mentioned above were made.
I took pictures and could use finding out what the part is called that is making the noise. I see the 3 discs on the front side of one of the belt pulleys (i think?) spinning, then they will stop, making the clack sound. It seems to me that sometimes the sound is loud and then other times it is extra loud --are there two sets of these discs and the other set is somewhere I can't see?
I've a 2008 Toyota Corolla ever since I bought it back in 2007. I don't have any problem with the seat belt warning before but recently for the past months the seat belt warning keeps beeping constantly, even when I'm wearing my seat belt. I fastened every belts in the car to make it stop but it just keep going. How to get it working properly?
View 1 RepliesI have had no issues with this car of 120K miles until today, although my MPG has decreased to 35 MPG. The following lights came on with a loud beeping sound : Brake warning lights, malfunction indicator light, master warning light and the hybrid system warning light. These stayed on for 25 minutes and then went off. I drove 12 miles without any issues with all the lights and sounds beeping.

View 7 RepliesI have some issues with my 2009 F250 5.4L. Recently I got in the car and went to start it. It started fine but I was getting beeping noises from the dashboard. 5 beeps with 1 second between each beep for 3 times. I shut the car off and go to start it again and engine does not crank at all. I get the relay click every time i try to start it but engine doesn't want to crank. Then the beeps come back.
About a month ago I had a reputable shop here in town install a compustar remote starter. It hasn't given me any troubles at all but I'm thinking this might be the culprit behind the issue. I towed the car down to the place where they installed my remote starter and they got the car started. They said I had blown fuses and the remote starter is not behind the problem I'm having. So I picked the car up and it was all good for 4 days and last night I get in the car and same issue.
I scanned the car and came back with these codes
U2472 Ignition State Unexpected
B1868 Lamp Air Bag Warning Indicator Circuit Failure
U2023 Vehicle communication bus error
I tried resetting the codes and tried to start the car (it didn't) and another code popped up
B1555 for ignition run/start circuit failure.
Whats going on? Problem?
I just bought a 2003 Eddie Bauer Explorer. I keep getting a door ajar message on my dash with a beeping sound when driving. I've opened and shut all the doors to make sure they are properly closed but it does not fix the problem. The interior light will also turn off and on randomly whether the car is on or not. What makes it more annoying is that when I lock the doors the alarm sounds, thus forcing me to leave the car unlocked at all times. I could not find any door buttons against the door frame so can't figure out why it thinks a door is open. How I can fix this or if a code reader will tell me which door is the problem?
View 3 RepliesMy TREG beeps every time we unbuckle the seatbelt in park. Is there anyway to change this? Sometimes you have to sit with the AC on because it is really, really hot. Or you undo your belt to reach back to the kids. Actually, it seems like it beeps every time I do anything. Open the door, lift wait off of the front passenger seat, etc... Any hack to the computer system that can fix this?

On the 2001 Nissan Xterra, when I Lock the door ..sound like the horn.
Lately my Sienna makes this noise whenever it is started. The noise lasts for 5-10 seconds. It builds up very loud towards the end and then stops abruptly. I made a recording of the sound and have attached it.

View 7 RepliesTransmission comes out of gear and has a loud whirring sound when in reverse, but not every time. it has happened when driving at about 60 mph (twice) Sometimes it happens a couple times in a row sometimes it is ok for a couple weeks.
View 2 RepliesTwo different Subaru dealership repair shops told me that i have loose rear wheel bearings on my 2003 Outback. My car does sound like a VERY loud airplane all the time now, but the noise is the only symptom i have noticed. My shop has told me that they will fix it for a discounted price, but they are not pushing me to get it fixed, and have told me that it shouldn't cause any actual problems besides the loud noise being very annoying. All internet research to the contrary, though. I have to drive about 1000 miles round trip next month -- is it just going to be a noisy trip, or is something horrible going to happen if i don't get the bearings taken care of?
View 12 Replies2001, 5-speed, 6 cylinder, 140K miles. Under acceleration, it feels and sounds like I'm driving over road warning strips. While coasting, it goes away. The CVJ's and wheel bearings appear to be OK. Could it be the final drive? It happens in all the gears.
View 3 RepliesMy Explorer overheated yesterday. Found a very loud hissing sound coming out from under the hood. Let it cool off filled it with antifreeze, started it up, started hissing again. Found the thermostat had broken. Replaced the thermostat. Filled it up again. After replacing the thermostat I found out the hissing sound was coming from the plastic thermostat housing. Replaced the housing. Again I refilled it with antifreeze.
Started to let it warm up and noticed liquid dripping out of the exhaust pipe. Checked it out. Had a green color to it. Then I noticed the coolant resivor was full up to the cap. I did not fill it up past the full line on the side of the resistor. Tried removing the cap.
Found out it had a ton of pressure under it. Bled off the pressure. Refilled it again. Did not put the cap back on. Tried starting it. Instantaneous geyser. Runs like it is missing on 1cylinder. No oil in the coolant that I can see. No coolant in the oil. Could this problem be caused by a blown head gasket of a crack in 1 of the heads or in the block?
@75000 miles my first check engine light. Here are my symptoms......
~After i shut the car off the fan keeps on blowing at a very high rate as if the car is over heating, its currently 45-50 degrees.
~On cold morning when i start the car up and turn the steering wheel I hear a very loud whining sound, but after driving for about 20 min and the car has warmed up the sound goes away.
My 1999 Astro van recently started making LOUD rattling noises under the hood. No previous problems, ran great up till pulling into my driveway. It does have 160,000 miles on it, but has always been excellently maintained. Towed it to dealership where they told me that "by the sound of it" it would need a new engine. This van is fully loaded, power everything, leather interior, paint job is great, everything works. Breaks my heart that I may have to junk it. So, the big question is, junk it or get a new motor?
View 14 RepliesI get this noise, AT TIMES, on cold starts which sounds similar to a knock. It lasts for maybe a couple of seconds at most. It's not the FI ticking that is generally always present. I see where other models (engines) have reported start up noise but nothing on the 460.
View 2 RepliesMy seatbelt warning light and beeping comes on even after I've buckled up. Sometimes it's works fine at first and then will randomly come on while I'm driving. Other times it just doesn't recognize that I've buckled my seatbelt at all. I tried disabling the beeping as a temporary fix, but it didn't work, I'm assuming because it didn't recognize when I performed the necessary buckling up. Even if it did the blinking light would definitely bother me.
