i've been constipated for nearly 2 months,I read a lot in google, Nothing helps and it gives me anxiety, can someone help me please ! Im 17 years old male. And this is my first time of having constipation.
View 2 RepliesI'm 29yr old man and i have had constant constipation for 6 months now. I've tried many therapies and only milk of magnesia works 2 tbsp twice a day and I can only go liquid form. List my urge to go to. When milk of mag doesnt work u need to do a mag cit colon cleanse. I have abdominal cramping, bloat, twinges, fluid pool build in lower right abdomen and sometimes left. Burping often and all kinds of noises. Sometimes mucus. I just had a colonoscopy, fair prep but adequate g.i. says he had good visual throughout after suction and saw nothing bad. Now i'm having a barium xray and ultrasound tomorrow. I'M AFRAID I'M GONNA DIE FROM KIDNEY FAILURE FROM THE MAGNESIUM EVERYDAY before they find root cause.
View 32 RepliesMy son is 2yrs 2 months old and has suffered Constipation for 10 months ... it started when i went away for a weekend and he had his first weekend without breastmilk... 3 days late he was screaming in pain and had a stool stuck I was about to take him to hospital when in dropped enough for us to remove it,
the problem got more frequent over the coming weeks despite a lot of research on web tryin all kinda things increasing his fluids (which just made him wee more) and changing his diet (we tried more prunes, brown bread rice pastas, watermelon and watery fruits cutting out bananas and other foods) and he was prescribed Lactulose by the dr, whom told me it was just something toddlers get at this age, but it got worse as we weaned him onto cow's milk and the dr just increased his does of Lactulose over and over ... and saying would be 2 years until he would ref him to hospital.....OMG was my reaction, he passes stools most days but all are firm large and dry like rock the poor thing is in tears trying to pass them. his hanging of furniture like his in labour and there telling me this is normal at his age.......
so with yet more net research tried yet more diet changes no milk at all , goats milk, pre and probiotics, exercises, massage still to little or no effect
he now has senna from the dr too but the dr is still refusing to give him a ref, but my Hv has at least said there is a problem she thinks its "slow bowel" so currently trying to find out more on this as i am at my wits end and running out of things to try to relieve his pain its breaking my heart,
I know this is also now becoming psychological too and who can blame him when it hurts him so much, I am worried it will effect his happy go lucky nature being in pain for months on end. not to mention he starts preschool in nov and i am worried if this isn't sorted by then what i am going to do....
I've been having spotting for the past three months instead of period. I've had a sore lower back while spotting. I am 44 years old
View 1 RepliesI was 17 when I started smoking cannabis daily and smoked quite a lot a day, I'm now 27 I never missed a day in that 10 years that I didn't smoke... I gave up smoking it 6 months ago and I still can't remember what happens the day before and am always having fights with my girlfriend cause I'm always not bothered about anything and seem to have a massive lack of emotion. I don't want to be like this and was the main reason I gave up, I was never like this before I smoked and thought that it was just the fact I was smoking that made me like it, now I've quit for 6 months and don't feel any different, I still feel light headed at times have blurred vision and can't concentrate on anything longer than 5 mins and forget important things all the time, I really feel like I have screwed my brain up and I'm scared I will never get back to normal, i so wish I never smoked in the first place... I was like everyone else and thought the entire time that cannabis was harmless and that I'm just lazy and emotionless because I was still smoking and that if I stopped it would all go back to normal, well It hasn't so far!!! About 3 months ago I found out my sister had breast cancer my parents and everyone were shocked and scared for her, I didn't feel anything and knew this isn't right and it scared me, I love my sister but I just can't seem to feel any emotions... So I guess what I'm asking is has anyone ever gone through this and eventually it does all go back to normal or have I screwed my life up and now i'm an emotionless zombie?

View 2 RepliesI am suffering from constipation and i cant figure out why because i drink a lot or sufficient water and fluid and eat a good fibrous meal and normal meals what my family eats then why am i constipated.Just once i loose the schedule the whole week i am constipated rather my family sleep and wake up at random time and yet they are good then why i have to follow so hard unchanged routine to not to be constipated.

View 1 RepliesSo I started a new job in December. It's an hour away and is a desk job, so for 10 hours (basically), I am sitting. I do stand when I can, but I don't have a desk that allows me to stay that way. I wish I had one, but they're too expensive for the work budget. Before this job, I was constantly walking around or standing at the very least.
About three weeks into this new job, there was one day where I felt horribly bloated and gassy. I was wearing a belt and felt like I needed to take it off and unbutton my pants immediately, but I couldn't until I went to my car. After that, I noticed I was constipated and gassy once I made it home.
I figured it was okay since that has happened before (but for only two days). Over the weeks, I realized that whenever I DID pass stool, it was flattened and very difficult unless my morning coffee was able to dislodge it. There has never been any blood or mucus. It has just been really hard to pass bowels over the last month. My stomach hurts a little after straining, but the frustrating thing is that I feel like I need to go sometimes and feel like I could pass a stool if I stood up and did it. That just isn't possible...
At any rate, I don't know what the problem is... I'm in my late 20s. I drink lots of water. My diet depends on my time...

I am a female in my early 20s. I lead a very active lifestyle, drink water exclusively, and have a very healthy diet (no processes foods, lots of fruits and vegetables). However, I'll go days without a bowel movement. It's so uncomfortable that I can sometimes barely get my pants buttoned in the morning.
View 1 RepliesI am suffering from long term constipation. Everyday I have to move bowels at least 4-5 times a day. My bowels just won't empty in 1 go in morning. The stools I could not pass in one go then become harder. Now I got piles because of this. I try to eat 2 carrots per meal and an apple after meal. But the condition does not improve. I get immediate relief with a laxative - laxido. However I cannot use that forever. And when i leave the laxative, the constipation and piles returns in a week's time. Please has anyone seen such a case of constipation?

Probably because of a coordination issue in my bowels and reduced muscle strength.
I take Molaxole every day but it's not enough, I often have to take 8 Molaxole-doses in 6 hours to empty my bowels.
Is there something else that can help me have a good bowel movement?
Is there something that improves the movement of the muscle tissue in my bowel wall?
him I'm a 14 year old female and and last week or so I had diarrhea for first 2 days then it stopped then it came back again For one more day but with normal poop first but then after that I've been constipated and having to strain and squeeze and my poop has been like small ball I know this is gross but I don't get I've tried eating somewhat healthy and drinking more water I don't why I'm experiencing this at a young age my brother eats junk food all the time and still poops...
View 1 RepliesI am 22 years old and for about the past 6 months Ive been getting REALLY bloated/constipated the week before my and during my period and it just keeps getting worse and worse as the months go on. I have not had a bowel movement for a week now. My stomach is twice the size it normally is and I weigh seven more pounds than normal. It is so uncomfortable and it has gotten to the point where I am scared to eat or drink anything else because I just do not think it will fit in my stomach; I think I might literally throw up if I try. My stomach feels like it is going to explode
I've tried taking a laxative in the past but that didn't help much (possibly because I only took one does of it?) and yesterday I tried taking a diuretic. The diuretic also did not help. I've been eating fiber one cereal for the past 2 weeks because I though that may prevent it but it did not.
Has this happened to anyone else before? Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do for a long term fix? I was thinking maybe try eating activia or taking Metamucil?
I've had problems all of my life and at the moment my condition has worsened, but unfortunately it's something that we don't talk about. I've got fibromyalgia, arthritis and herniated discs in my spine consequently I'm in a lot of pain all of the time so it's a catch 22 situation my tablets cause the constipation but I need my tablets! What's the answer?

View 10 RepliesI went to the doctor two days ago for what may have been one of the worst pains of my life, turns out I have an external haemorrhoid and the blood inside it has clotted. I was given scheriproct ointment which is removing some of the pain but hasn't reduced the hemorrhoids size yet. I really need to go to the bathroom (apologies for the tmi) but every time I try I get a blinding pain like something may tear or the hemorrhoid may burst. It's really uncomfortable now I haven't been to the bathroom in a week since this problem started. I'm aware of laxatives and stool softeners etc but stool softeners can only work so far down my colon, which doesn't really help me right now. My doctors surgery isn't open for another two days, is their anything I can do?
