Sertraline :: Vivid Dreams And Nightmares

Dec 8, 2015

I am on sertraline 100mg, it has helped me feel less anxious overall but has given me strange, vivid dreams and nightmares. Can anyone relate to this? Is there any way to reduce or stop these dreams? Sometimes the dreams tire me out so I don't feel very rested at all...

Sertraline :: Bad Dreams And Nightmares

I just wondered if anybody else has suffered bad dreams and nightmares as a side effect of Sertraline. Some of my nightmares are really disturbing and can put me out for a whole day. has anyone else experienced this? Other than that the side effects have been pretty minimal.

Citalopram :: Vivid Dreams

Hi all, I've been on cit for about 7 months now, its slow going but I am progressing to recovery, i'm pretty certain of that. My question is regarding some very vivid dreams i'm having, they can be about absolutely anything but in them I have the most severe depression/anxiety where there is absolutely no hope for me, they're freaking me out a little as i'm now thinking these dreams will become reality. Has anyone else suffered from horrible dreams whilst on cit?

Vivid Dreams - Common Side Effect Of Fluoxetine

I know dreams are a common side effect of fluoxetine, but do they ever settle down?

I seem to be having quite a few vivid and realistic dreams per night, usually about things that are worrying me which then makes me question myself as to whether it was a dream or not!

Has anyone experienced this and did it settle for you? Or is there anything we can do to ease it?

Insomnia - 27 Years - Vivid Dreams And Wake Up Every Hour (1 Month)

I have been suffering from insomnia for the past 2 months. It all came suddenly. I had shifted to a new country and had been living there for one month when this problem started. Initially, I stayed up extremely late- till early in the morning at 5 am and would fall asleep and wake up at 12 pm or later. But slowly, I ended up sleeping less and less. Nowadays, I can only sleep for 2-3 hours at most, and I end up waking every hour, and have extremely vivid dreams. I yawn throughout the day. When I do fall asleep during the day it is only for 30 mins or so, during which I have vivid dreams of me doing something or talking to someone. When I wake up I realise it was just a dream- but it was so like real life that its hard to distinguish it from reality. I also sometimes wake up drenched in sweat. I am so scared this might be fatal insomnia. What should I do? Try as I might, I cannot go off to sleep at night. I am so scared. Its as if I have lost the power to sleep. There is no history of fate insomnia in my family. But I have heard of a disease called sporadic fatal insomnia which doesn’t require a family history. I am 27 years old.

Sleep Issues :: Vivid Dreams In A Small Room - Lack Of Oxygen?

Recently I've been sleeping in a very small room. Due to this I try to leave the door slightly open to allow more oxygen in as I'm concerned that the room is too small to sleep safely in overnight. However sometimes I can’t leave the door open - for example if we have guests staying over. I’ve found that when the door is closed all night I tend to dream more vividly. I'm wondering if I'm dreaming more due to a lack of oxygen?

Sertraline :: Crazy Dreams?

I've been on 50mg sertraline and 80 mg propranolol for over a month now, for bad social anxiety and depression. I only take the propranolol in the morning before i go to work or if i have to go out somewhere or if i have visitors coming etc, so i only take one of those a day, occasionally 2. The sertraline i also take in the morning. I have started to notice a slight change - on some days at work i feel almost like a normal functioning human being and i am actually able to talk to people and be around people without having a complete irrational meltdown. Yay! This is not every day, i still have bad days and i still feel very low but if it is a sign of things to come i am feeling rather hopeful. Side effects haven't been too bad, the worst one i would say was the tired feeling and just feeling very out of sorts sometimes, kind of dizzy and fuzzy headed, off balance etc. But now i have started to have really crazy dreams every single night for the past week or so. I am managing to sleep eventually, although it does take me a while to drop off, but it's just the dreams now. Not nightmares as such, just absolutely weird and crazy dreams, every single night now, is anyone else having this problem?

Oxycodone - Nightmares Are The Worst

I fell downstairs in november last year sprained both feet very badly as I have heart failure things do not heal well. And with all my cardiac meds I am only allowed paracetamol (acetaminophen) last month I visited my GP again for my very painful feet, I get Rx for a temporary low dosage oxycodone but every time I take it I get awful nightmares. I also have other side effects from this like mild nausea but the nightmares are the worst. Anyone had this?

Depression :: Duloxetine And Nightmares

I've been on duloxetine for about 18 months now (I think, my memory's awful) and have always had disturbed dreams and nightmares while I've been on it. Originally I was taking zolpidem 10 mg and Quetiapine 100mg at night but I've taken myself off of those over the last few months. The nightmares have gotten worse though, they're incredibly realistic. Last night I dreamt that I was drinking and I woke up heaving and with an intense headache like I was hungover. Then I managed to go back to sleep and after dreaming that I was back at my parents house and arguing with them, I woke up in such a state and my anxiety was so high I couldn't even move, I was struggling to breathe and scared because I was struggling to differentiate between what was real and what was a dream. I never wake up feeling rested and am constantly tired and yawning throughout the day, I've also been suffering more with headaches. Has anyone else on duloxetine had issues with sleep and dreams and is there anything that helps?

PTSD :: Freaking Out, Familiar Sounds And Nightmares

How it affects me..is subtle...I don't' always realize it always.

For example:  I am in a relationship.

If that b/f says something similar to my past...I freak out on him...He is NOT the person that hurt me...but he suffers my wrath.

When I hear a police car...I shake and think something has happened to one of my boys.

I really think it is MY HOUSE that I live in that causes me all the anxiety...If I could move...I think I could move further away from all the memories..all the walls I was hit into...the shower I had to think about who would bother me in.

The cellar...my boys lived in and destroyed.

Etc....I don't have alot of nightmares...but I have alot of familiar sounds, and situations that set me to the past and cause much anxiety.

Sleeping Trouble - Uncontrollable Vivid Thoughts When I Close My Eyes

I've been experiencing this for quite some time. the first time I noticed it was when I came home from a festival after taking ecstasy. I closed my eyes to sleep and would find myself walking through the festival as if I was there just a few hours before. i could open and close my eyes and knew the situations weren't real but they were so vivid and i had no control over what i was doing. I couldn't change the place I was or scenario or control my movements when i had my eyes closed.

I've noticed this a fair few times after taking drugs but now it has started to happen to me on nights where I'm sober (98% of the time). It could be a possibility that I stand under the speaker at work which we play music from and it is quite loud not to mention a very busy retail job in a liquor store. I come home to sleep around midnight and close my eyes and it's as if i'm in the store with no control over my actions just serving customers going about my normal shift work.

My bedroom has a few led lights that flash but I mostly cover them up with t shirts, they're from computers and such, I'm 22 years old healthy never had problems with sleep as a teenager and I've only noticed it in the last 2 years. I'm thinking it might be to do with the long exposure to loud noise since its now happening once I'm sober. when I drink alcohol I tend to pass out no problem within seconds of hitting the bed. Any ideas, theories or information on what I'm experiencing and possible causes.

Post-Traumatic Stress :: Hydroxyzine For Anxiety And Prazosin For Nightmares

After years of trying to deal with this on my own I finally got help with a diagnosis of PTSD. I was prescribed Hydroxyzine for anxiety and Prazosin for nightmares. I have not taken either yet as I am wary of taking anything...even when the doctor says it will help. Has anyone tried either of these medications?

My trauma stems from very violent situations a few years ago that are so difficult to talk about I can barely breathe when I even try and get the words out of my mouth. It has left lasting scars both physical and mental that seem a daily reminder or like having a giant necklace of rocks hung around my neck constantly pulling me down.

Sertraline :: Advice On Stopping Sertraline

I had some terrible problems last november stopping venlafaxine to start sertraline.  I realised I have tried over 6 different meds and have decided to get back to the start and take none.  I have been to a doctor today who was not very helpful and as I have never been given the right advice about cross tapering I am not confident about stopping.  I started with 50mg, 1 december 2014, in mid January increased to 100mg and to be honest things are worse in the way I feel.  No libido (I am a happily married 46 year old woman who used to enjoy my husbands attention), No motivation, No sense of enjoyment in anything, overeating, overspending and little or no self worth.  I have been told stop 100mg and take 50mg for 4 weeks and then review.  I am thinking maybe 75mg for a week, then 50mg for a week, then 25mg for a week then nothing....  Any ideas?  I have been on one antidepressant or another since 2009.
