Shingles? Eye Stye And Cold Sore On My Cheek

It started with a swelling on my eyelid which I thought was a stye. Then I had a red swelling around a kind of cold-sore on my cheek, then others on the left side of my face, also in there are bumps on my scalp .... they look and feel like cold sores and itch a lot.
Happily had already made an appointment at the docs for another matter, so I'm waiting for that to come up ... hopefully she'll be sympathetic about dealing with two different ailments.
If it is shingles - can I go swimming tomorrow? And what about work - I have a little job in a grocery shop?

I still have this gnawing pain under the skin on my collar bone, cheek near the ear, behind the ear, and neck and there's some swelling too.
Can somebody explain and what are the natural remedies?

I am 21 now, I had gotten shingles when I was 20. I only had it for a week luckily but, it was on my face...around my left eye and cheek area. While I had it, I had a lymph node swollen behind my ear that was pretty large also a couple lymph nodes on my head that were swollen as well. Both with piercing, constant pain. Then with the Shingles, the marks on my face and near my eye also hurt BAD. I got through all of that, no scarring.VERY lucky on that one. But now about 8 months later I have the same lymph node behind my ear swollen, my cheek actually filled up with fluid one day and when I opened my mouth something popped, all the fluid was released and the trash can became my best friend that night. NASTY. I thought it may have been a abscessed tooth causing the swelling and fluid build up, but after the fluid left my body my tooth stopped hurting. Now I'm just kinda lost and looking for some help on what may be going on.

My husband has had a weird infection under his nail for years, it comes and goes. Swollen, gross rash, then normal for a while, then flare. After every known treatment for nail infections failed, we found a doctor that said it was a herpes viral infection, that it was likely a form of the herpes encephalitis virus, not herpes simplex virus and that it didn't come from a sexual situation, but likely droplets or contact, which makes sense because he worked in a mancamp for a long time that was very unclean and they got all kinds of junk from each other for lack of hand washing, etc. Anyway, the doc said not to worry about the finger infection spreading unless the sores are open. Not long after he got a skin rash on his back and was diagnosed with shingles, but the rash comes back every now and then and has spread to a small area near his armpit. We don't live in the same state anymore, so we can't go back to that doctor. But recently, a friend of mine in medical school showed us a picture of a herpes encephalitis rash on a man's lower back that he saw in a text book and it looks just like my husband's rash... but we both get regular std testing and have always been negative, but this skin thing has gone on for years. Is it possible to have a herpes virus of some kind, with recurring rash, but NOT have genital herpes or the cold sore kind?

I'm negative for both hsv1 and 2, last checked in 2013, and have been cautious in the dating scene. I've been dating this girl for two months, and it definitely is not going to be serious, so I wouldn't want to catch hsv1 from her.... In the past week I noticed she had what I thought was a pimple just below her lip (center of her chin). I saw her for 3 days when it was red. I assumed it was a pimple.... Yesterday I noticed that same red spot had scabbed over, and she said that spot appears every 6 months or so... It was clear to me at that point that it's a cold sore. So for 3 days of kissing that red spot, and then 1 quick kiss with that scab yesterday, is it now a guarantee that I am infected??
Also, I got a valtrex prescription, per recommendation from the doctor. I know it wont help prevent an infection, but anything to bring up my chances, I will do. I really do not want to get hsv1, I have other health complications which lower my immune system and would make hsv1 much worse for me.

I am 27 years old. For a few days I have had a headache on my right side which goes with a numb feeling in my cheek. I have pain down my right neck shoulder and arm which goes to my hand. I went to my GP today and he gave me painkillers Naproxen I think they are. I have took 2 already and due to take my third one. He told me I have a migraine.
I have left for 15 hours last night and another 3 today after coming back from my GP. I still feel tired. I have never had a migraine before but I am scared to death that this is not just a migraine.

I have had pain/discomfort in my leg for 3 weeks now it started as calf pain which changed positions from behind knee to lower down to ankle and shin. It would come and go throughout the day but seems worse when sitting down. There is no swelling or redness. It has now progressed and I have pain/discomfort in my bum cheek and upper thigh down to my ankle again it comes and goes and is worse when sitting doesn't really bother me when I'm walking around. It is mostly in my left leg although occasionally I feel discomfort in right leg also but majority of time it is my left.

I have a large bump on my upper, right cheekbone. It started the night before last with just a little swelling. When I woke up yesterday AM, it was almost swollen shut. Throughout the day yesterday, the swelling expanded to the entire left side of my face. I've messed with it a little so now there is a little break in the skin. I kept ice on it last night which seems to have reduced the swelling. The knot itself is not round but long.... a little longer that the size of a quarter. It hurts and is very sensitive to the touch. Over night, it's like it moved up a little bit. I can now see it out of the corner of my eye. I feel like Shrek. The knot is hard and seems much deeper than a pimple. What the heck could this be and how do I get rid of it? I'm really concerned.

A week ago i observed a pimple type lump on my left eyelid area, and searched for the the same on net and found that it is known as sty OR stye in medical term. The same type of lump is on my cheek, right arm and on the groin area. The 4 old ones are getting better without any medicines, but 2 more are observed on the groin area, one on lower cheek and one on the same eye but upper side. Pls advise about the disease and what will be the remedies for the same.

I was told by my neurologist that's what I have which is fine I have a lot of the symptoms (burning in head, ache, sharp pains, etc.) however I would like to know if anyone else experiences a metallic taste with theirs?
Or bitter taste? Hard to explain the taste exactly but I noticed I only get this taste when my ON acts up.
My right cheek also feels numbish when it comes along. I have a nerve test for neuropathy in a few weeks (to see which kind I have) and have had CT/MRI of brain which was clear so the taste may be related to the neuropathy but it just seems weird it comes when the ON comes.

Hello! I am a 34 year old woman who has just been diagnosed with shingles. I have had them for about a week and am quite uncomfortable, but not miserable. I have had some stomach pains for a few days that I believe are associated.
One problem I have is in all the information on the net and from doctors they stress the point "you can NOT get shingles from someone with shingles"... well, I disagree. My mother is a non-hodgkin's lymphoma patient who was diagnosed with shingles about two weeks ago. I live by her and help her and I find it hard to believe my shingles didn't come from being exposed to her!
Just wanted to let others know.

I've just been diagnosed with Shingles. I have been told you can't get Shingles from Shingles, only chicken pox from shingles. But I am the third person in work in a week to come down with Shingles. If you can't get Shingles from shingles, how come so many people in work have it?

I think I have Oral Lichen Planus but I can't get a doctor to confirm it. I have had mouth sores in my cheek area since 2009 and now my gums are very red and inflamed and have been told that I have white lines on my inside cheek area. When I go to a dentist to have my teeth cleaned, I am always turned away because they don't like the looks of my mouth sores. In 2013 I had doctor swab my mouth and send for testing and also did blood work but was told nothing showed up. I think she was looking for bacterial infection. In the mean time, I continue with a very sore mouth.
I have a hard time eating anything because the sores are next to my bottom back teeth so eating irritates the sores a lot at night I sometimes bite the area with sores due to swelling so they pretty much never heal.
I recently went to a new dentist and she too wouldn't work on my teeth but she gave me details as to her concerns and told me to get checked for an Auto Immune disorder. I have since been to a doctor and had blood taken to check for that and then they sent me to ENT. He mentioned Oral Lichen Planus which was the first time I have heard of it. He wants to do a biopsy and then he mentioned a steroid rinse.
I also researched OLP and I have all the symptoms listed so I just don't understand how going to doctors since 2010 about the mouth sores, no one can figure it out? Am I finally heading in the right directions for diagnosis? I scares me that it has been left un treated for 5 years when I read that sometimes those with OPL can lead to mouth cancer.

About a month ago I noticed I had a sore on my left buttox and I picked at it and it turned into an open sore. I went to the doctor and was prescribed the antibiotic keflex. It started to heal a little bit but after 7 days the medicine ran out. It is now an open sore that is always oozing liquid. It won't heal and it's very painful. What do I do?

There is a red bump that came up on my butt cheek it looked like a mosquito bite but got a few more around it thought it might of been ringworm bc it looked like a circle I scrubbed the area with bleach, I know that wasn't smart but it went away and let a slight dark spot on the area well the bump comes back from time to time in the same spot what is it? It's a Lil itchy only when I think about it but it's the same as before except it just had a few Little bumps around the middle bump.

has anyone ever had pain on the cheek bone. I heard it make a loutish click the other day now it feels painful & have these clicking noises in that ear on same side. Is this dry sockets & possibly arthritis. It hurts @ times when I eat. I remember many years ago I think my Dentist said I have TMJ would this be connected as beginning to get on my nerves now, thank you.

My tonsils have been swollen for over a month, until last week they were painless, but now I have flu symptoms. Its quite scary, it affects my swallowing and I have a very very dry mouth, even when I drink loads of water all day. Hasn't affected my breathing as of yet, but feels like a lump in my throat is blocking it off.
This has been going for three days now.
Doctor said I need a blood test for glandular fever, which is next week.
I mentioned that I think I can feel my epiglottis swollen, and she laughed and said that is all the way down by my adam's apple and would have a job feeling that... even though i've seen many cases online where it's visible above the tongue and often can be felt.

sore throat,fatigue, pain, no diagnosis Posted 10 minutes ago I'm sorry for the long post but I really need some help. I am 25 years old,female from Bulgaria. Everything started after 2 shots of progesterone done by my gyno. I had high prolactin levels and somewhat low progesterone and my period stopped so that is why she gave me shots. After the second shot I woke up with very bad pain and burning sensations in my sinuses,my whole body was in pain.And there it all begins.For 2 weeks I wasn't getting better, I had a fever (not very high),sinus pain and sore throat. Finally I visited a ENT doctor,she said that there was nothing wrong with me,everything-ears,nose throat looked fine but I asked for a sinus x-ray-it was also fine. Then my gyno advised me to culture my throat and nose. The results were staphylococcus aureus in nose and Moraxella catarrhalis in throat. I was prescribed cefpodoxime (due to antibiogram) took it for several days and I wasn't feeling any better,then my dr switched me to Cefuroxime,it did help at the beginning,I was feeling better but by the time I was taking my last pill all the symptoms returned. My sinuses didn't hurt anymore but my throat was on fire,muscle and joint pain,feverish feeling but no actual fever this time. So I was put on unasyn (Sultamicillin) on IV drip.I was getting no relief and was just feeling very sick from that med,so we stopped it. The I went to another ENT doctor and he told me there was nothing wrong with me, my throat looked fine and I had a little wound in my nose with blood. I had no runny nose. So I did a culture of my throat again and it happened to be Candida Glabrata ( may be because of all those antibiotics) I also had e.coli in my urine.I took one dose of Fosfomycin for my e.coli and it cleared up and I was put on IV drip again with fluconazole for my candida.I also had candida in my vaginal results. I started to get better on fluconazole but again it lasted 3 days and in the end of the treatment I was ill again. My ears started to hurt very badly,all other symptoms continued.I waited 2 weeks after the last antibiotic and did a nose and throat culture again in two different labs and there was no infection found, I also did a vaginal and urine tests again and the urine was fine, had some enterococcus faecalis but in small amounts from my vag microbiology. My gyno said that it is better to not treat it for now because of all the meds I took for those 2 months. Yes,it's been two months and I am only getting worse, my whole body is in pain,I am very fatigued,have the flu feeling sore throat, ear pain,lymph and joint pain,I feel very very ill. And the tests say nothing. On my blood test the only thing that was abnormal was my AST (antistreptolysin-titer) levels were high 310 (from 200 being the norm).Went to a 3rd ENT,he also said everything looked fine, my ears and throat are not inflamed and he said that it wasn't my ears that hurt but my face joints. So I am here,desperate for ome help, not getting better,not knowing what to do now.I started having very bad panic attacks because I think I am dying and no one can find what is that illness. Can it be some autoimmune response to the progesterone shots? I don't know anymore. It's a struggle to get out of bed really.

as much as i have search i can't seem to find any usefull info on this condition. i first noticed something was wrong when i woke one morning with a slight pain on the left side of my left eye. after one scary long week, two doctors, one optician and no real answers i had lost any useful sight in the eye, just a blur. took myself to A&E one sat morning , spent the next 7 days in King college hospital on a antiviral drip. that was 4 weeks ago and still no sign that i will regain my sight ,just a huge amount of floaters. having antiviral pills,9 a day ,plus steriods & drops. another 3 months of those i have been told. rare condition i have been told and the object of fascination at the hos. any one with the same experience out there? still wondering if i will ever see again.[
