I just had lots of work done on my car, and since then the Hyundai radio (HM5064) is not working. I thought I just needed to put the radio code in again, but when I went to do that today, all the LEDS are showing for the stations, time, Cd etc.There is just no sound.
View 5 RepliesMy radio hasn't worked for over a year. I've gotten used to driving with my headphones on, but now I want to get to the bottom of the problem.
I have an 06 Accent. The radio powers on and I am able to flip stations and put a cd in and out. I just get no sound.
I tried checking the audio fuses. I can't check one of the fuses because its connected to the yellow memory fuse. I can't get the fuse out without breaking the plastic case. Is there a way to remove the fuse without breaking the case?
Another thing I just noticed is when I turn on the radio I hear a pop coming from the left rear speaker. I don't know what that means. How to get sound back.
So I installed a new radio in my car today and connected everything besides the dimming and illuminating wires since my new head unit didn't have one. I connected everything that i needed to like ground power and power from the ignition switch. Radio doesn't turn on at all.
After installing this new radio the climate control doesn't light up anymore. Checked all the fuses under the dash on the driver side and under the hood. All of them are good. Is there any other reason the head unit and the climate control lights wouldn't work.
The clock, a/c and the thing defroster lights work. same with the ash tray light. seems to me that the only light that isn't working is the climate control light and the radio doesn't power on at all.
So yesterday we removed the radio from the car to install an after market one, after realising the after market radio had different cable inputs we reinstalled the original radio that was in there. But now the radio won't turn on, the clock doesn't work and the interior light isn't working. What the issue could be?
View 2 RepliesAfter changing the battery on the 2005 Accent, problem now is: no power windows, no radio, no air/heating fan, battery light always stays on. Checked all fuses in box besides driver seat an all OK. Rest of electrical seems ok ( int. and ext. lights, lighter, etc...). I would really really like not to have to bring it to the dealer.
View 4 RepliesI'm having an electrical problem that's resulting in the hazards, dash lights, radio and clock all constantly flashing on and off repeatedly. The car starts fine.
When investigating under the hood, I found a wire (pictures below) that wasn't connected to anything. I'm not sure if this is what's causing the problem, but I figured this was a good place to start.
What this wire is supposed to be attached to, and if it has anything to do with the flashing lights I'm experiencing?
What this wire is or possible causes of these flashing lights.
I just recently purchased a 2000 mk4 GTI and as stated above, the radio turns and all the buttons work but there is no sound. The amp in the back was removed and there are two clips that are not hooked up to anything. I am wondering if the radio needs the amp hooked up for it to work at all.
View 1 RepliesI just bought my first Prius, a 2003 with 218,000 miles. The radio doesn't seem to be working. On FM or AM, it turns on and will scan through channels, but it's not picking up any stations -- it just scans forever. I haven't had a chance to check if the CD or cassette players are working since I don't actually have anything to put in them.
View 9 RepliesI bought a 2000 Jetta without a radio in it. I recently purchased a radio from Crutchfield and wired it according to the schematic and connector cross over guide. The radio is on and I can go through its functions but there is no sound. I tried connecting a AAA battery to each of the speakers, via the radio connector, and no sound. I believe this was not a Monsoon system. The connectors on the car do not fit in Monsoon and are Brown, Black, and the third is Blue / Green. What I could do to resolve it?
View 4 RepliesI have got a hyundai accent and I was getting a really annoying rattling sound from the boot i have been looking every where to find it and today i have sust it out if you open your boot up and just drive it round the block and it does not rattle then its probably the same problem that i had its the catch that the boot locks on to they must of been a bit of a gap to it and the metal was rattling together on the clip and the lock all u have to do to fix the problem is open your boot up then on clip on the car that the boot locks on to simple apply some installation tape around it so its pretty thick but not to much close your boot and problem solved it should be ok mine is fine now back to silence again now instead of a annoying rattle when driving.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2000 Hyundai accent. Bought the car used at a lien sale over 3 years ago, with about 120k miles on it... it now has over 197k miles on it. I have changed the oil and filter religiously since I bought it, using Castrol GTX High mileage 5w30 synthetic motor oil. I have also (in the last year) replaced the plugs with platinum plugs, the plug wires, and the air filter. A the car has always made a tapping sound when idling since I bought it, but recently (in the last week), it makes little shoemaker sounds when I accelerate. I used to associate this with detonation and adjust timing (back in the day when you could put a timing light on a car and turn the distributor to set timing). Since timing is now controlled by the computer in the car, am I right in assuming that I need to replace the timing belt?

View 3 RepliesMy 2005 Accent started making this weird slapping sounds last night. I hesitate to call it knocking b/c it's not that loud. It sounds almost like if you put a some cards in the spokes of a bicycle (weird description, I know). But basically the sound speeds up as I accelerate and vice versa. It started last night as I was pulling up to the house. When I opened up the hood, it sounded like the sound was coming from the top/top back of the engine. I recently had all belts and radiator (small leak) replaced about 2k miles ago. What it may be? Car only has 67k and I drive 95% on the highway at about 70mph. I drove my truck to work this morning so I don't make the problem worse until I know what it is.
View 1 RepliesThis start this morning on my way to work. When I took my foot off the gas I would hear a clicking knocking sound the sound slowed down as the car slowed down. Any time I took my foot of the gas this would happen. Was still there when I hit the break. If i had my foot just barely on the gas it would go way. Its an automatic 2000 Accent 156K miles.
View 20 RepliesIgnition turns over, but no sound. There is power to lights, radio, etc. Tried a boost, thinking it was battery, but the boost was unsuccessful. Tried using the spare key but that was also unsuccessful.
The tow driver said it sounded like a fuse or clutch safety sensor. I also heard that it could be the battery leads. We're fairly new at fixing the car ourselves, learning as we go, so not knowing some otherwise basic things, like how to clean and tighten battery leads, what fuse to change, or what the heck a clutch safety sensor is.
Have replaced BOTH half axles. Clicking sound present when driving - does NOT change when turning right or left. Seems slightly affected by acceleration/deceleration - makes clicking slightly louder/quieter. Clicking is DIRECTLY proportional to speed - slows down until car stops. Transmission works fine, fluid level is correct. New trans fluid and filter. What the heck could this be? Wheel bearings seem solid - jack up car and try to wiggle wheel - solid as a rock both right and left sides. WHAT ELSE COULD THIS BE???
View 4 RepliesLike the title says the Rpm doesn't go over 3000. This problem came up all of a sudden. I thought maybe the gas filter was a t fault so I changed it and no change. I went to my usual mechanic and he found the catilizer was all clogged up. After taking the cat off the engine started pissing oil all over the place. In other words the engine was shot. So he find a new engine with only 4000 km on it for $500. I said great put it in. After the install same problem. RPM won't go over 3000. He changed the ECM still no go. What could be the problem?
View 1 RepliesI bought a 2005 Hyundai Accent about 5-6 months ago, GS 2 Dr model, 52,000kms (69,000 on her now), and lately she has been making a weird ticking sound form the engine when idle, if you give her some gas it slowly goes away as your RPMS increase. I had my father look at it, he said it seems fine, i also had a garage look at it and they also said its fine, but too me the engine sounds different then it did when i got it, maybe the cold from the winter could be doing this? when the engine is heated up it still makes the noise.
View 4 RepliesMy '03 gives a rattle sound under load/acceleration conditions. This does not happen during the warm up period, so it appears that the engine runs lean under acceleration. There is no check engine light on for this. Approx 172k KM, (100k miles). The noise appears worse when it is hot/humid outside. I have run a can of Seafoam through it (half in the crankcase, half in the fuel line), and that doesn't seem to have worked. Therefore, I don't think that it is the injectors. Possibly fuel filter (still original)? Any easy way to test?
View 8 RepliesThis started a few months ago. At first it only happened when making a hard right turn, its a repeated click or grinding noise. Over time it has gotten worse, and now happens when turning either direction, and its worse the faster the car is going. Turing into the parking space at our apartment is fine... turning from one street to another going to work is not. Various things I looked up suggested the cv joint, but when I went to parts stores websites to look up prices all it gave me was cv boot kits in the results. Is this whats actually wrong, and is it something easily fixed for a DIY person?

My tail lights or brake lights stay on, and I can't seem to have them go off. I checked the switches for the lights, all of them work, but the back lights will not go off.
It's a 2001 Hyundai Sonata GLS 4 door.
