My 2009 Camry's gas pedal is really loose for some reason. I can feel the gas pedal shaking as I try to accelerate really fast sometimes. In addition, my engine is louder than most of other Camries out there. I heard that adjusting the throttle cable should work. However, I can seem to find the cables.

View 2 RepliesI bought a new toyota camry L# 2013 a month ago. The gas pedal seems very firm and need to really press hard to accelerate. My initial thought was that it being a new one it might be firm and would loosen up gradually. Its been a month and more than 1000+ miles, but the pedal is still very rigid and I am feeling leg pain because of it (I am driving 52 miles to and from work). Not sure if it is common feature or mine is behaving that way.
BTW - I also own 1999 camry and the gas pedal is very smooth and responsive.
2002 camry. The car will not accelerate. The throttle body makes a clicking sound when pedal is depressed.
So.. I took it apart and cleaned the contacts in it. In the mean time located a spare throttle body from a 2003 from a local yard. The old throttle body has a part number 22030-28030 and the replacement has a part number 22030 0H010. The replacement throttle body wouldn't even move when the pedal was depressed.
I put the old one back on.. and now it doesn't click anymore but the car in Park only revs to 2000 rpm's. Its not sticking or having any mechanical issue.
I checked the parts site for Toyota and the replacement is the new number. Superseded. Does the throttle body after replacement need to be reprogrammed? Or whats the deal. I wish I was more Toyota literate when it comes to this.
I have been searching and it seems I am not the only one who has a rough idle with the I4. It is very rough even without the A/C on. I can see the dash shaking, I can feel it in the steering wheel, brake pedal, seat, and arm rest.
The dealership cleaned my throttle body and MAP sensor (They forgot to put one of the screws back in the MAP). This is the third time they have cleaned them. When they returned it to me I told them to keep it until it is fixed. So they took it back in and decided that it might be the motor mounts so they went ahead and replaced them aside from the dogbone or whatever it's called.
When they returned the vehicle it was still having the same issue, they told me that its just the nature of the beast and to live with it. Well my neighbor has the exact same car, and yes it does have a SLIGHT vibration in gear but nothing like mine. I can't stand this car I really wish I would have bought something else.
I currently have 70,000 miles and for the last three oil changes I have been running Full Synthetic in hopes it would work but it has made no difference.
Just a note I have had multiple problems with this particular dealer lying to me. They even ripped up my passenger seat and would not fix it they said it was pre existing. I am over the seat I don't care anymore but I am tired of the rough idle. I plan on taking into another dealer but I am hesitant because they told me if there is no real problem I will have to pay in full for the diagnostic.
I have toyota camry 2009. I have almost no issues besides when I'm trying accelerate to getting on highway and tap on acceleration pedal sometimes it takes up to 5 sec to start accelerate:as soon your tap on pedal , it kind of thinking for 2-3 sec then goes to lower gear and only then start accelerate. Is it normal behavior for the toyota's car? I heard toyota's not really maneuverable cars or it just mine like this? I'm worry in traffic even overtake cars in traffic,otherwise can be accident.

1. In drive under load during braking especially when the AC is on the car shakes. I can put it in to neutral and it works but when in drive or reverse especially with AC the car shakes. (not just a little bit)
2. The RPMs are settling around 400-500 so the stuttering makes since.
3. Feels like everything effects my Idle RPM speed (breaks, steering, AC, power windows lol!)
I am thinking possible fixes from research
1. ECU Reset with everything on AC/Lights/ Im planning on mashing on the breaks 2 see if the extra power usage work.
2. Throttle Body cleaning
3. Alternator could be bad
I have a 2009 toyota camry le 4 cyl with 170000 miles. I had my rear main seal replaced because there was an oil leak. Now after I got it back from the shop, there is a oil leak near the front motor mount and my engine had gotten louder when i accelerate. also it smells like paint or something inside my car. what did the shop do?

Recently purchased an 09 Camry SE, 2.4 auto(50 kms's), from a Toyota dealer. It's my wife's car, which I occasionally drive, and find the gas pedal very hard to modulate from a stand still. In other words when I initially press the gas pedal, when starting from a fully stopped position, I find the car lurches forward with too much acceleration. You can have a smooth take off that's not abrupt with acceleration, but your trying to feather the gas pedal to do so and it's a little difficult.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2009 Camry and both brake lights don't illuminate when I press the brake pedal but during night time driving, the red tailights are on indicating the bulbs aren't burnt. The third brake light on the top behind the rear seats does illuminate. By the way my tailights aren't the fancy LED ones just the normal stock bulbs. So what's the problem here? Is it a electrical issue?
View 2 RepliesNew wheels installed! They look great, but I have some shaking when I accelerate from 60 to say 90 mph! The hub centric rings are in place! Also before I installed the new wheels I hit a big pot hole and a had some low to medium howling noise coming from the front end! The hollowing is still present with the new wheels but I also have the shaking now!

No matter what speed I'm already at.I recently had both CV axles replaced. Transmission fluid doesn't have any flaky stuff or anything, it's pink though. The check engine light is always on, but it starts to blink when it starts to shake between 2-3 gear.
It's been doing this for about two weeks, nothing has changed, average 15 miles a day. No weird smells from the engine, leaking radiator fluid super slowly (was told to just keep filling it)To start the car I have to press the gas slightly.That's everything I know is wrong with it. I just want the shaking to stop. Does it sound like I need new transmission fluid or something?
I have a Chrysler 300m 2004, 3.5. I have done a replacement of the timing belt at 100 000 mark with a chrysler dealer.
It has been misfiring for a while since. I brought it to a dealer who told me that the camshaft crankshaft and oxygen sensors need to be changed. So I did. (camshaft and crankshaft were changed with the dealer. Oxygen sensor was changed with independent with generic not factory sensor because the dealer did not have it.)
It did not solve the problem. Now the car is shaking and sometimes cannot accelerate. I even change spark plugs and battery. I brought it to an independent, the mechanic told me that there is 3.8 degrees difference between cam and crankshaft sensors. They are out of sync and suggest that I should bring back to the dealer who replaced the timing belt.
When I brought the car to the dealer, they told me that chrysler 300m 2004 tolerates up to 12 degrees difference so the cam and crankshaft are not out of sync. Nothing to do with the timing belt that they installed. I called the independent mechanic but he told me that in general it's 1 to 1.6 degree.
2007 Rabbit shakes quite hard when i accelerate mainly on any type of incline and only between 35-60 mph. When i take it to the shop they cant find a problem.
View 3 RepliesIn my 4 runner when I slowly accelerate between 30 and 40 mph just as I can hear the car about to shift gear the car begins to shake when I than accelerate the shaking stops. Brought it to a shop and they changed a spark plug and coil they say was mis firing, but I pick the car up and the problem is still there. Their diagnostic shows no problems, yet the shaking is still there when slowly accelerating between 30-40, no check engine light has ever come on. While it shakes if I shift the car from D to 4 the shaking stops, and if I speed hard through 30- 40 it doesn't shake, just when I slowly accelerate.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2003 Mercury Sable with 139,000 miles on it. A few weeks ago I had been driving on a long trip and stopped for gas. As I was exiting the gas station and went to accelerate as I pulled out, I felt a shaking and the car went out of gear. The car will start now, but pushing on the gas does absolutely nothing whether the car is in drive or reverse. I'm trying to decide to have it fixed or to sell it at this point. Is this a transmission problem, as I suspect?

View 9 RepliesThe car is a Citroen Xsara 1.3VTR. The gear stick shakes like crazy when I accelerate or if I'm driving up a hill it vibrates again and doesn't seem to have that much power either. There is no other problem with the car.
