New wheels installed! They look great, but I have some shaking when I accelerate from 60 to say 90 mph! The hub centric rings are in place! Also before I installed the new wheels I hit a big pot hole and a had some low to medium howling noise coming from the front end! The hollowing is still present with the new wheels but I also have the shaking now!

View 16 RepliesMy 2009 Camry's gas pedal is really loose for some reason. I can feel the gas pedal shaking as I try to accelerate really fast sometimes. In addition, my engine is louder than most of other Camries out there. I heard that adjusting the throttle cable should work. However, I can seem to find the cables.

No matter what speed I'm already at.I recently had both CV axles replaced. Transmission fluid doesn't have any flaky stuff or anything, it's pink though. The check engine light is always on, but it starts to blink when it starts to shake between 2-3 gear.
It's been doing this for about two weeks, nothing has changed, average 15 miles a day. No weird smells from the engine, leaking radiator fluid super slowly (was told to just keep filling it)To start the car I have to press the gas slightly.That's everything I know is wrong with it. I just want the shaking to stop. Does it sound like I need new transmission fluid or something?
I have a Chrysler 300m 2004, 3.5. I have done a replacement of the timing belt at 100 000 mark with a chrysler dealer.
It has been misfiring for a while since. I brought it to a dealer who told me that the camshaft crankshaft and oxygen sensors need to be changed. So I did. (camshaft and crankshaft were changed with the dealer. Oxygen sensor was changed with independent with generic not factory sensor because the dealer did not have it.)
It did not solve the problem. Now the car is shaking and sometimes cannot accelerate. I even change spark plugs and battery. I brought it to an independent, the mechanic told me that there is 3.8 degrees difference between cam and crankshaft sensors. They are out of sync and suggest that I should bring back to the dealer who replaced the timing belt.
When I brought the car to the dealer, they told me that chrysler 300m 2004 tolerates up to 12 degrees difference so the cam and crankshaft are not out of sync. Nothing to do with the timing belt that they installed. I called the independent mechanic but he told me that in general it's 1 to 1.6 degree.
2007 Rabbit shakes quite hard when i accelerate mainly on any type of incline and only between 35-60 mph. When i take it to the shop they cant find a problem.
View 3 RepliesIn my 4 runner when I slowly accelerate between 30 and 40 mph just as I can hear the car about to shift gear the car begins to shake when I than accelerate the shaking stops. Brought it to a shop and they changed a spark plug and coil they say was mis firing, but I pick the car up and the problem is still there. Their diagnostic shows no problems, yet the shaking is still there when slowly accelerating between 30-40, no check engine light has ever come on. While it shakes if I shift the car from D to 4 the shaking stops, and if I speed hard through 30- 40 it doesn't shake, just when I slowly accelerate.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2003 Mercury Sable with 139,000 miles on it. A few weeks ago I had been driving on a long trip and stopped for gas. As I was exiting the gas station and went to accelerate as I pulled out, I felt a shaking and the car went out of gear. The car will start now, but pushing on the gas does absolutely nothing whether the car is in drive or reverse. I'm trying to decide to have it fixed or to sell it at this point. Is this a transmission problem, as I suspect?

View 9 RepliesThe car is a Citroen Xsara 1.3VTR. The gear stick shakes like crazy when I accelerate or if I'm driving up a hill it vibrates again and doesn't seem to have that much power either. There is no other problem with the car.

View 2 RepliesI just bought a used '05 F-150 and recently I noticed more a shaking I guess you'd call it. When I start from 0 to 80 nothing seems wrong, but when I slow down to coasting like 40 - 45mph and accelerate to 50 - 55 mph it shakes or acts like its having a hard time shifting or its skipping. And it doesn't happen till after I go past 40-55mph range and I've tried it in overdrive and out of it.

It was making a knocking noise and the van kept shaking the whole way home. The shaking was worse both coming to a stop and accelerating. We could also smell gas when we stuck our heads out the window.
View 7 RepliesWe bought yesterday a 2004 Prius with 73K miles. This was (unfortunately) a private sale. When my husband drove back home with the car, the VCS, ABS and ((!)) yellow came on when he reached 60mph and above. He also noticed a lot of noise when accelerating and the car was shaking. The noise is also there at low speed and when accelerating it is so bad and feels like something is rubbing?
This morning, we decided to try the tire pressure to see if this could be the issue. After correcting tire pressure (it was actually very bad), the lights went off and we decided to try it on the motorway. The car was noisy to start off but as soon as we hit the motorway, the sound was getting worse and worse. I could feel my passenger seat shaking under me and the 3 lights (VCS, ABS and ((!))) came back on and stayed on until we got home.
What was the issue in the end? We have spent all our savings in this car and can't really afford expensive repairs few days after buying it. We are just gutted. Oh and we have a 2011 Auris Hybrid with 15K that runs superb. My dad owns a Prius too and so I can tell the noise is just not normal- at the same time, perhaps a 10 yo Prius is supposed to do this noise?
Ford F150 1999 5.4 XLT... I've had this truck since may 2013 from the 2nd owner who only drove it
occasionally to make sure it ran. For the last 5 weeks there have been two occasions where my service engine light appeared...once on 12/28/15 and again today. Both read cylinder 4 misfire. Upon searching this piece which I'm assuming is the boot that covers or houses the spark plug is very unsecure and causes a shaking feeling as I accelerate or idle. Being so far back I can't reach it with extensions on a ratchet and barely fit my hand back there. Having to consider taking it into a shop for further analysis and repair but I'm trying to save as much money as possible as I am in between jobs since mid January. I have a picture attached...
My brother has an 02 ford escape that he bought cheap because it needed a transmission. He just replaced the transmission in it as well as tie rod ends, front axles, axle bushings and seals. The front pads and rotors are new and the tires were just rotated. Now when you are going 15mph and up and are on the accelerator there is a severe shaking as you accelerate and a loud thumping noise. If you let off the accelerator it goes away. If you get it going fast enough it will shake so bad the mirrors will shake. He is a ford mechanic but said he is having a hard time pin pointing what it could be . He took me for a ride. He said he has had other mechanics look at it but they can't figure it out.

View 13 RepliesWhen I bought the Passat I told the dealer there was some "shaking" and they said they would take care of it. But so far they didn't and the problem seems to be intermittent but I can always feel the car shaking a bit. Sometime in the steering (un-balanced kind of thing) and sometime it's the whole body (since I can see my clothes shaking and feeling it in my back).
The problem seems to be worst when I released the gas pedal. But at any speed I can feel this "jumping" sensation which at lower speed it feels a bit worst. I can feel it more on new/even pavement.
Everytime I bring it in they check it but doesn't seem to show as much as when I drive it randomly.
I'm new to the VW world so I'm not entirely sure what this noise can be. That car seems to shake more than it normally would when going over uneven pavement, such as dips and holes. It also makes a terrible clanging noise. Now I know this model is renown for needing engine mount replacements...but it feels like it's the suspension.
