I have a GMC, 2015, Yukon and I need to stop my odometer from registering miles when I tow it on all fours. I called GMC and was told the odometer is a new "tamper proof" one and it cannot be stopped from recording miles when the wheels are turning. Is there a 'work-around' that would solve this problem?
View 1 RepliesWe just bought a 2004 with 46000 mi. The screen does not register till about 5 to 8 miles down the road. Let me be clear it comes on but nothing works such as heat, radio, gas consumption. The radio and heat work off the steering wheel, they just don't register on the screen right away.
View 5 RepliesI own a 2015 camry SE - 4k miles on it. Right from the second month I felt like the brake was stiffer and I always felt like I am going to rear end the vehicle in the front. Last one month it became really worst. The pedal feels lot stiff and I have to press hard to bring to a complete stop. Brake is not very responsive. I feel like its still rolling even after applying the brakes and I have to apply the brake very hard to come to a stop. It looks to me like there is a response delay between applying brake pedal and actual stop. I used to drive a Civic and this is my first Toyota so I am not sure whether this issue is common in camry.

I have a 2011 Camry LE. I took it to have the oil changed today. The odometer was around 46,000 miles and that's what the service guy put in the computer. After the service was completed, the guy leaned in the car and had me turn the keys 2 clicks while he pressed the odometer button to reset the oil change light. It took him a few tries before he said "ok, got it." Afterwards, I noticed the odometer was reading 40,000. I showed it to him, and he had no explanation for what happened. Neither did anyone else that worked there. I called my local Toyota and they had never heard of that happening.

I have a 2004 Nissan Quest SE. We were on a trip and drove 15 hours to Florida which was a 870 mile trip. We had 104,440 miles on the van when we left, validated by the dealer service records and our own notes to track MPG. We arrived in FL and didn't notice the odometer. The van remained parked for 4 days. Upon leaving, we noticed it had 115,310 miles on the odometer. Upon checking the trip computer (setting 1), it did not reflect this 10k mile gain. The trip computer also didn't reflect a change in MPG with the additional 10k miles. The trip computer (setting 2) hasn't been reset in a very long time as we don't use it. and continued to show a total mileage just over 4k miles, therefore, also not reflecting this 10k mile gain in the odometer.What would cause this jump of 10k miles on the odometer?

Would it be wise to dump the factory oil and go with 5w40 Rotella? It has been getting really hot here the last two weeks and its only getting hotter as I drive south.

View 14 RepliesMy truck has been awesome. I tow about 16,000# behind my F350 about one weekend a month. 80% of the time my trips are 150 miles or 700 miles round trip.
Over the last three trips while towing I've noticed that the upshifts are not as smooth as they used to be. They used to be really smooth. Impressively smooth considering the load. Now they are rough.
Planning to have them check it when I go in for service next.
My corolla odometer is adding miles faster than usual all of a sudden. getting about 1.4 miles instead of just one mile. the car has 250,000 miles on it now... What can I do to adjust it, replace it, or what?
Also, when should rear brake drums be replaced. My bearings are bad so should I replace the drums too?
My Yukon, with 140,000 miles, will sometimes start/fire up right away but other times it sluggish to start and then when it finally does it will shake for a while. Also, sometimes when idling at a stop light it will shake. It will also shake sometimes when I get around 60-70 mph. The rpm's are fine.
I replaced the fuel pump last spring and had a tuneup last summer. What could be causing this? I've had my mechanic look at it and he's hooked up his handheld diagnostic tool to it and it never shows any codes.
I had an issue with my 2011 6.7 this weekend and I'm clueless after doing the google search for info. My truck started overheating after driving it about 10 miles in tow with a light load (20 foot boat). So my first panic reaction is to stop and check the fluids which all check out as good on the levels if I am checking them correctly.
So it cools off and we go for another spin and now that I am paying more attention I notice abnormally high RPMs before it shifts into all gears and that the heat seems to be a by product of this. there is no abnormal vibrations of any type but it sounds like someone learning to drive a standard for the first time.
I does it almost every time. So I tried the manual shift option and it had no problem and no overheat. If it reaches the 6th gear without the overheat alert posting it runs fine but getting there seems to be an issue.
In the back of my mind I do remember hearing this high RPM before but I have a short drive to work and back so I didn't think much about it as I have definitely keyed in on it now. I have only had the truck a year and I do not know when the service was done last on the Transmission.
My 04 Yukon XL blows ice cold from both units while driving. However, at a stop light or in park the temperature of the air warms slightly. It will sometimes also blow hot. I checked the pressure using one of the units available at auto parts stores, and it was a low. I added refrigerant and the issue got a little better. I am thinking the fan clutch may be going bad? The truck doesn't overheat at all and in fact stays at mid-gauge throughout operation. Am I correct in pin-pointing the fan clutch?
Also, I know on the and up the TPS tells the pressure for each tire. Is there a way to get this same feature on my? Would it be possible through a software upgrade or replacing the entire DIC?
I just brought my first vw, now it's diesel and in New Zealand I have the pay milage because of diesel for 1000ks and ill do it in a week jus lt getting to work, is there a way to put a switch in to stop the odometer so I don't have to worry about it? View 2 RepliesYesterday while i was driving home out of the blue, I was in the city making a stop and suddenly everything in my odometer start blinking including gas level (gas was halfway), also big red triangle turns on and some other lights that I couldn't see cuz the car stop accelerate so i just make to pull over and set the Parking then I turn off the car to try turn it on again and see if everything clear out but didn't turn on anymore couldn't even get it in neutral to move it...
I press START button ones and screen turns on and even able to get into info system to check that my aux12v battery was ok. BUT when press the START button twice with or without stop pedal all energy shut off, screen dies and odometer just try to blink quickly before die not even able to see if any other light turns on like the engine one or big triangle.
AND WORSE part is that i can pull anything out of my Scanner because it needs to be in 2 STARTBUTTON pressed mode in order for my scanner to connect with my Prius.
Okay so my 04 f150 has all of a sudden decided to stop showing the compass and odometer. At first they started to blink then it went out.
