When my heat or air conditioner is running it makes noises (loud squeaks and squeals). The only way for it to stop is if I run the heat/ air conditioner at the lowest setting. Right now its cold but if I don't run it at the lowest setting, the sound is loud and really annoying... I thought it was maybe a loose cabin filter but I checked that and its fine. Where is it coming from?

when i initially purchased "used " my 08 gs350 i had a problem with brake squeal. I kept taking it in to the dealer until they ended up changing front rotors , all 4 pads , and new shims .
Took my car into my usual mechanic to get an oil change. I knew i needed brake pads and he changed all four pads out for $350 .I am having a terrible time with brake squeal now. the mechanic is telling me that i have warped rotors and need to replace all four. He is telling me that he wont charge me labor, but the parts will cost $400.00 I goggled the cost of the parts and he isnt far off on the price . My concern is that his fix isnt the correct fix. Front what i can tell its the front rotors making all the racket.
What should i do ??I dont know if they re-installed the shims and have no idea what kind of pads were used . Thinking about taking it to the dealership and being done with it .
When I 1st brought the car the original brakes and rotors squeak, I really didn't mind bcuz I had plans on changing them, now I installed the aftermarket slot/drilled rotors with new ceramic brake pads, and I still get squeaking from the front brakes, weather it's wet or dry, cold or warm they squeak, what I can do to stop this?

Symptoms: Very audible squeak from suspension front and rear (not as bad in the rear) when going over bumps. It happens mostly on the driver side. I can replicate the squeak when I push down on the car in the front. It only happens when the weather is warm, lately when it's been 60 degrees or less, it doesn't make any noise really.
Another squeak I'm hearing is when I get in the car first thing after it's been sitting a while, there's a squeak that's coming from mid-body area (I think), and happens when I turn right, transferring weight to the driver side.
I've searched and saw numerous threads but haven't really been able to get a clear idea of what may be causing this. I did have someone lube the control arm bushing (at least I think we did) and the noise did not go away. Car feels smooth, but I wouldn't rule out shocks as a culprit. I'm trying to get ideas and narrow things down so I can start hunting for it when I have free time.
I have a 2005 SC430. When I start it up it makes a squealing noise, and the more I accelerate, the more it squeals. I read through this entire thread: [URL] ....
I did as PearlPower suggested and sprayed it with some WD-40 (the top center pulley area) and the noise stopped, but not for very long. Think I need a new belt.
Have a 06 2.0T Passat that decided to start making some kind of god awful squeling noise today.. Sounds like it is come from the drivers side underneath possibly.. Funny thing is when you turn the car off it stays on for a few seconds till it runs out of pressure or something..
Car does have 103k on it if that matters..
2009 Sonata 2.4 AT 111,000 miles and at start up sometimes I hear a squealing noise from the transmission for a few minutes and then it goes away...
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Hyundai Accent automatic. For the past few months, every time I start up my car it makes a horrible squealing sound. This sound also occurs when I'm backing out of my parking space and when I do turns. A few times when I'm doing turns the steering seems to lock up a bit and it gets really difficult to steer. I had numerous people check under the hood and they say that the pulley is seizing every time I turn the steering wheel left or right while it's making that squealing noise. I have had all three belts replaced and a new alternator installed last year. The belts have been checked numerous times since they been replaced. The power steering fluid has been a changed as well. Do I need a new steering pump? Or is the problem something else.
View 7 RepliesI have a '02 Accent with a 1.6L. Over the summer the A/C blew ice cold. I changed all the belts and after a few weeks I noticed that whenever I turned on the heat or A/C the car squeaked. After that I saw that the compressor would stop spinning whenever the squeaks happen. I sprayed the pulley and clutch with silicone spray and it worked great for a day then the same problem again. Eventually I snapped the A/C belt, replaced the idler pulley, and the tensioner bolt but still the same problem. What it could be?

View 7 RepliesThe water pump was the culprit for the noise. So my 2013 gs350 with just over 40k miles started making a clicking and squealing noise during start up and while driving. I took a video of the noise when started cold without the a/c on.
I've already taken it in to the dealer for service but out of curiously, what the problem may be? I'll provide an update after the the dealer completes service.

(2008 ES 350) I hear this squealing noise under the hood, I had the AC compressor rebuilt because I was told that was the cause, low and behold it's not, I only hear the noise when the car is in gear, but I don't hear it when in park or when I drive, but it's loud in drive and reverse. The water pump has been replaced too. Where is this coming from?

View 2 RepliesI just had all my belts changed on my 2009 elantra. Now when I start my car it makes a loud squealing noise. it goes away after about 1 minute, we took the belt off that controls the air conditioning and still squealing.
View 2 RepliesMy father-in-law's 2001 Lexus RX300 makes squealing/whistling sound when engine is cold. Multiple serpentine belts replacements and adjustments made no difference. One mechanic said it's the bearing inside the alternator, but I find it difficult to believe. Why would bearing sound go away when it heats up? Besides, having issues with bearings inside things like alternators and such.

View 3 RepliesThis is a known issue with Lexus. Bring your Lovely RX to the dealer so they can replace the Steering wheel column, so it will stop the "Squeak" noise.
View 2 RepliesSo I just got a bunch of work done on my car: the timing belt, spark plugs, serpentine belt and water pump were just replaced. I had the oil changed, the fluids changed, new front tires, and an alignment all about a month ago, but now every time i turn my car on there is a squealing noise coming from my engine (i assume a belt). Then when i get to higher speeds the entire car shakes, but more so on the drivers side. I have also noticed my brakes just starting to squeal as well, but the shaking was occurring before that. What it might be?

This is a really annoying noise .
We have a 2006 GX470, 90,000 miles no problems with car until 6 mths ago. A/C has been deteriorating since last yr. This summer charged twice lasted ok for few weeks. Problem initially was wouldn't cool when car was idling, only worked when going 50+mph. A/C charged worked better for 3 weeks, then drivers side not cooling but rest of car somewhat cool. Issue today is drivers side blowing out heat & rest of a/c vents barely cool at all. Told by Lexus need to rip out dashboard to get to compressor to check & fix leak. Last look by Lexus added 2 lbs of refrigerant 3 weeks ago & now completely not working.
