I have a fuel leak below the rear passenger seat, just off the fuel tank, something that looks like a filter or fuel pump, dripping fuel and after an hour it just stops, makes me think it`s empty. What is that thing anyways, has a hose running all the way up front? I have 2004 V8 beauty.
View 1 RepliesI have a gas leak coming from the r/s rear of the tank. The exposed fuel lines all look good. It seems to be dripping down from the top but I can't see anything unless I drop the tank down. I ran the smoke tester but don't see anything comming out. Could I have overfilled the tank??

View 6 RepliesI have been using it a lot over the last 2 years since I bought my 2005 3.0 TDi. Love the car, have had a few issues but nothing major. I do now have an issue with the seat belt height adjustment in the passenger side. It will go down, but not up....slightly annoying as you can imagine. When I press the button to raise the belt, nothing happens. Seat are 18 ways ventilated massage seats.
View 3 RepliesMy rear seat headrest on one side is always up, and I can hear a motor running in the rear seat back whenever the engine is running. Shut the engine off, and the head rest remains up. I couldn't push it down with any reasonable amount of force. Does it need a complete headrest motor, or can the existing one be repaired?

I must say after my 05, this 06 is truly a blessing. I can't begin to tell you how utterly amazed I am with this vehicle on a daily basis. Why doesn't the car have any speakers in the rear window deck? Was sitting in the back seat on Valentines Day and was amazed at how weird the car sounds without speakers in the rear? Was truly amazed that my rear passengers couldn't hear how great it sounds in the front.
I recently purchased an 06 V8 Phaeton that has just about all the options except the 4 seat package. Other than the notoriously finicky TPMS, the rear seat heater and cooler does not work at all. The rear seat lumbar adjustment and massage features work properly. From what I can determine from service manuals the rear seat heaters and coolers are controlled by J522 Rear Seat.

Now I first suspected that the wheels in the center console may not be functional, because the seat has power. When I took a look at the measurement blocks they responded from 0.36V - 5V on both on the controller.
My next thought is that the controller isn't coded/configured for the rear seat heaters/coolers? Looking for the details of this controller? What should I check next?
I bought mine new in 2005, it is a high gloss black exterior with black interior. The wealth of knowledge pouring out from this site about this car is amazing. Recently, tonight actually, I noticed that the light for the passenger rear seat heat/cool control is out. I was wondering if this is something that I can replace myself - or I should go to the dealer for.
View 4 RepliesIn my 7, if I hit the roof console center light button, it would illuminate both the front of the cabin, and my accent lights in the rear cabin, allowing me to see the kids in the back at night or ensure they have light if they can't find something.
On the Phaeton, I have not yet been able to figure out how the driver can turn on the rear cabin lights. I have the lights set on to come on when the door opens, but obviously that isn't an option underway. Is there a way for the driver to illuminate the whole cabin from the drivers seat?
I know that this features is handy if you are over 6 ft tall but why do they automatically raise when you open the door even if the passenger measures 4 ft? Is there a way to turn of this feature if, for example you whant better access to the rear window for cleaning?

View 8 RepliesIn April of this year I had a large amount of water in the rear passenger area..Long story short it was the pollen filter..Dealership got it covered with my extended warranty, but yet I had to pay 1200.00 to replace the carpet..They also replaced the Control unit?? Wiring harness and housing...So, now fast forward to 2 days ago. I had a FLOOD in the rear DRIVER seat this time.I called to let them know and they said to bring it in Monday for emergency appt..My plan was to drop it off Sunday evening..during the night of rain we had Saturday I hear a god awful noise at 4 Am..My car is all lit up in orange lights.We had to disc the battery to stop the noise and lights..later that morning we got the wet-vac and hooked up the battery again. It started fine, but then all the lights went crazy and everything got all whacked out.
My trunk no longer closes...so we disc the battery and call AAA to tow to dealer..They just called me now..of course they need it for a day or 2 to determine the problem and see if it is covered! it damn well better be..they got it covered last time. I am beyond irate at this point. No doubt the car is in the same condition as before...main computer is obviously screwed up again..If they think I am paying 1 penny they are sadly mistaken..twice in 2 months?? Something is definitely hinky here..last time before they determined it was the pollen filter, they told me they cleared all drainage area and ruled out all that so they can't tell me that was the problem this time..They can't get clogged in 2 months when for the past 5 years I have NEVER had this issue.
Took Phaeton in late Thursday afternoon, because rear pax window suddenly stuck down (regulator popped/exploded). Because I wanted to drive her to Las Vegas on Sunday, Sep 5, I asked my dealer if the window regulator was not available to be installed before my trip, if they could reset the window to its upright position (closed). The service writer said that this may not be possible, that the window could slip down... The mechanic reset the window up and I was allowed to retrieve my Phaeton, so I can drive it to Las Vegas tomorrow. I'll take it back to dealer when I return (a bit richer?)
Question: driving a long distance with the window up, but the window regulator broken?
My concern: the window will fall and I have no real way to get it back up. With temps running over 100 degrees every day of my trip, I do not want that window down. I have taped the window buttons (driver door and broken window regulator door) so they cannot be accidentally used..
Rear passenger child lock is stuck on and door can not be opened from inside.
I can turn child locks on from front drivers side and it operates as should displaying lights and locking doors in the rear but when I turn child locks off only the rear drivers side releases from inside.
I can open the rear passenger door like a chauffeur which my little girl quite likes but it's annoying me now.
I removed the little rubber but all I can seem to do is manually lock the door and not release it.
Fuse maybe ? Or is it a dealer fix
I have a rattling noise coming from rear passenger seat. More noticible in cold weather and over bumps.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2008 prius. Usually it gets me around 52-55mpg, I've had it since January. Since a couple of days ago its not giving me anything above 49. I know thats a normal number, but considering the fact that its usually quite a bit higher I'm wondering what the cause of the drop is. Also around the same time, when I pull out of my driveway I notice what appears to be a bit of water leakage. Its under the vehicle in the front center, and it only happens when I start the car for the day and pull out of my driveway (its on an incline).
