The wipers on my '99 SW1 are becoming intermittent in operation. The intermittent speeds change, the set speeds work, but all operations are not stopping when turned off. They do turn off when I turn the ignition off. I think it is the multiswtch on the steering column, but haven't done much troubleshooting yet.
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to figure out what could be the reason why I have Intermittent wiper operation on this truck. It's a 99 Chevy 1500 4.8 4X4. It's almost like the wipers have a mind of their own. Sometimes working properly but most often not operating when needed the most. Is this one of the set-ups that has a pc board with a bad/cold solder connection? I'm sure that one of the regulars here has come across this at some time or another and found it to be a simple fix.

View 6 RepliesI just bought a used 2011 Santa Fe. Two weeks ago, the right window stopped working. Neither the left or right switch had any effect. All other windows worked. A few minutes later it was ok and has been since. Today the left window did the same thing; was inop for a while then ok.

Supposedly the gauge unlike the stepper motor I need to replace for the speedometer is actually voltage controlled by a circuit board in the cluster.
2000 Rodeo, wipers work when on, no intermittent control. They just stop where ever they are if you swtich to intermittent control. I've heard this is a module above the glove box that costs about $200. Is it parts on the board in the module that fail so the module has to be replaced, or can I open the module, resolder grounds etc and restore operation? If not, anywhere less expensive than the dealer to get a replacement module?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2001 Toyota Sequoia that started having problems with the intermittent setting on the wipers. It is now to the point that it runs just like the slow wiper setting with no delay, it also doesn't "park" the wipers when turned off. I found that with the ignition in ACC position the wipers work perfectly (intermittent works and wiper "parks" properly when turned off) but when the engine is running I only have a Low or High wiper speed and no "Parking". I have researched online and most say to replace switch or wiper motor but both work with engine off so I am wandering if it is being overpowered with the engine running.
View 4 Replies2015 RX350 with Nav. Is there a way to disable the "auto" function of the intermittent wipers to gain manual control when in intermittent mode?. With the rain sensor and speed sensor, often even with the intermittent control at the fastest setting, the wipers don't swipe often enough. Especially when driving at slower speed or waiting at an intersection, the intermittent swipe takes so long that I must manually turn on the wiper to low speed. This makes no sense to me. Just because I'm driving slow or at an intersection, Lexus thinks I don't need clear vision?
This is the first vehicle with rain and speed sensing wipers and it will be my last. This is not only annoying it's a safety hazard.
Is there a user configurable setting to change this? Or is it something the dealer can disable?

View 1 RepliesOkay, to start i've disconnected my rain sensor so i do not have auto wipers, instead the wipers are intermittent when in the first, AUTO, position. with that being said....
When I was driving and had the LOW wiper position selected (not AUTO) and the wiper speed dial set to (-) , when the car comes to a stop or is parked, the LOW wipers switch to intermittent where they will pause in the (-) dial setting, for about 2.5 seconds. if the dial is set to (+) you do not notice this happening as the wipers re-engage too quickly. and then once you start moving again, the wipers return to the LOW setting and run continuously.
Does it also happen when your rain sensor still works? My guess is it's a luxury function so when you are nto moving, less rain hits the water, and you don't have to deal with wipers on a drier windshield making the low squeegee noise.
The front intermittent wipers on my 2004 hyundai accent will start then stop half way,continue all the way in the same direction then return half way and finally park. I have replaced the wiper stork switch and wiper relay [blue one in engine bay fuse box]. What controls the intermittent function? is it the bcm? and where's located?. I also have 2000 accent and its fitted with an intermittent wiper relay p/n95240-33000. The '04 is not fitted with one. I have contacted Hyundai and they weren't support.

Other electronic things work- radio, inside lights, turn signals. Usually if I turn the car off and start over it goes away. Fuses appear ok. Other times I will hear it but like it is an electric fan. Then there are times you hear it and then the noise goes away. Can this fan be heat operated.

No fan operation at what point on the gauge does the hi speed fan cut on? No fan operation with compressor on.
I have checked the fan works bypassed: Replaced the fan sensor and temp-2 sensor, coolant sensor works.
I have checked both relays hi and low both have voltage and fuses are good. It seems like the resistor maybe the issue I will check that today.
I never let the car heat up over 1/2 way which maybe why the hi speed fan does not come on unless bypassed. What value resistor is?
I have a F350 diesel which has recently had a new AC compressor, Now when I go to stop at a stop sign or slow down using brakes the wipers come on and swipe a time or two. I never noticed this before the new compressor was installed so I was wondering if something might have happened while installing compressor? Now I think stepping on the brakes makes the wipers come on, but not until the truck slows down and is just idling.

I do not have the courtesy wipe feature enabled and I'm pretty sure I'm not bumping the wiper/washer button. Tried reset by holding while it went back, up, then down, then forward, still one touch operation does not work.
