Have issues filling the santa fe? when I start filling, if i press the nozzle fully, it keeps clicking off on me. Even if I try to half press it, it still clicks off periodically. It's a real PITA, especially in the winter. 2013 Sport.
View 12 RepliesWell, just got back from my dealer - had them check into why after driving approximately 20 miles my fuel gauge registers 3/4 full. They said it has nothing to do with the cluster gauge everything checks out as accurate. My vehicle had the ECU 293 update applied at production. According to them is it because there is something preventing my fuel tank from filling all the way up. According to the service rep when the pump clicks off, my fill up is about 3-5 gallons short.
When I took delivery of the vehicle I noticed that the distance for the remaining (full) tank of gas read around 384. I've never seen that number again. Now when I do a fill up the best tops out at 310 or so. Where exactly did my 70+ additional miles until empty go?
They opened a case for my vehicle with Hyundai and said that Hyundai is already aware of this problem and they are working on a repair.
Having trouble filling gas tank, the pump nozzle keeps cutting off. Have to fill by dribbling the fuel in until filled. What the problem might be?
View 5 RepliesI was filling up my tank, as I was running in fumes a few days ago (just 14 miles before death as per trip computer) and to my surprise, when I filled my tank, it only went roughly up to 16 gallons (15.9xx to be precise) before the nozzle kept shutting off. Was the nozzle defective (or was I in a rush for not waiting until the vapors leave the tank?) or the 18.5 gallon tank has a ~2.5 gallon reserve that even the instrument gauge doesn't account for, as it was all the way in the E with the yellow gas pump icon on?
View 12 RepliesHaving trouble filling car up with gas? Here for the past 2 months its been gradually getting worse. I try to fill the tank full of gas and the nozzle keeps clicking acting like its full. At first it would only click once during the fill up. Now its 5 or 6 times during the fill up.

The gas tank was 1/4 full and they filled up the gas tank and drove 4 miles down the thruway and then the car starting acting funny and stalled. Now when they try to start the car the car it dies after a few seconds. Of course it's Memorial Day weekend too.
View 9 RepliesI've got a 2004 Santa fe V6 2.7 with a strange problem (145k miles).
On Sunday I filled up the tank and the car would start but not stay running the engine would just peter out and die. Took me a few minutes and a little revving and feathering the gas to get it to where the engine would not die b/f I got it into gear. After driving a mile home I turned off the car and restarted it 3 times w/o incident.
There was a previous episode that was very similar a few months ago. However, this was an isolated incident. I did a little research on the fuel filter and discovered the necessity of pulling out the back seats and did not take any action beyond always buying good gas. I lied to myself that the first freeze and a very cold engine was somehow to blame.
Friday morning I left on a trip (w/o getting more gas) and in route I filled the tank twice and both times it did not want to start. The car stated like normal when I left for the return trip. I stopped for gas once on the way home with the intent of buying just enough gas to get home and leaving the engine running while I pumped. As soon as I removed the gas cap the engine died and was once again difficult to start (the engine seemingly becoming more stubborn with each incident).
Additionally the idle while in gear was not as smooth as it has been but not necessarily to the point where I would have noticed if I had not been watching closely. I spent about 10 minutes on idle and under 10 mph creeping through a construction zone and the rpm dropped sharply a few times. what this could be?
I am having trouble filling up my car it keeps stopping every 5-10 secs knowing my car is not full. Whats going on? Also my my gas needle keeps saying im at 3/4 full all the time when i pump gas it goes to full, but never goes to half tank it just stays at 3/4.
View 10 RepliesWhen filling up with gas, I can only get a couple gallons put in the tank before the nozzle kicks off from the pump. As I get closer to filling up the tank it kicks off more frequently. The way I equalize the gas tank while filling up so that I can add more gas is to move the gasoline nozzle in and out a couple times and i can see a little bit of gas squirt out while the pressure inside is adjusting.
I don't think anyone was able to put something into my tank to plug it up. There is a little hole directly under where the gas cap screws onto that has a rubber opening, I'm wondering if maybe some dirt got into that and plugged it assuming that hole has something to do with making sure the pressure equalizes, but I don't know.
When I fuel up at fuel throttle the nozzle pops every time at every direction i give the nozzle. I can get it to fill at half speed but sometimes fuel is coming out of the breather tube and circulating back into the filler neck. I took the right rear fender liner out and checked for pinched lines but everything seemed ok.

View 3 RepliesThe last 3 times I have tried to fill up, I have had about 1/3 of a tank. Tthe pump runs for ~15 -20 litres and then shuts off. I cannot fill any further. I have 9/16ths in the tank now, 360km to empty. I will phone the dealer tomorrow. 42000km now.
View 29 RepliesI purchased a new 2015 Santa Fe Sport 2.4L ... transmission/acceleration issue. It's possible I just haven't had enough time to get use to this car but it seems to hesitate when I press the accelerator. Also, the transmission seems to annoyingly down-shift when I step on the break slightly or with a slight decrease in speed. Overall I love the car but I just wanted to see if this is something I just need to get use to or if I should be concerned?

When turning the car off a popping noise comes from under the gas tank area. The dealer heard in months ago and said its normal. It's still doing it. What could this be?
I also find that her emissions seems to smell very strong when the car is idling in the lane way and the door is open even when the car is warmed up.
I find her rear suspension really rough as well. When she takes bumps in the road the rear suspension hits them hard causing the car to bang when she hits them.
Her gas mileage is 13.4 regardless of driving lightly in the city.
Maybe im just anal but Is any of this normal?
Was under the hood today and noticed the coolant tank is completely empty. Car hasn't overheated or anything...just odd that it apparently wasn't filled correctly from the factory. It should be in the middle of the high and low markings, correct?

Whenever I am pumping gas, the gas seems to be bubbling back causing the nozzle to click off as if the tank is full. I have taken my car to a mechanic but he said he didn't find anything wrong with it. It takes 15-20 minutes to fill up my gas tank because I practically have to dribble the gas into the tank.
View 14 RepliesWhen I fill my 2002 VW cabrio, the fuel nozzle keeps clicking off. I took it to the service department at the dealership and the service manager told me that there is no vent tube to clean out, no carbon filter and the sensor for the ORVR is at the inside bottom of the tank and the only POSSIBLE solution would be to replace the gas tank. This doesn't feel right given the other discussions on this board. Could the dealership be misleading me?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2013 Santa Fe 2.0T Limited. The window (or trim for the window) makes a clicking/ticking noise that gets worse the more uneven the road surface, and also when cornering. If I push on the window it seems to stop.
I worry about taking it in for warranty work because last time I enquired about something different they told me if they can't replicate the problem I'd be liable for the mechanics time.
My CEL came on today, gas level was a little under a quarter tank.
Took it to Advanced on the way home to have them scan it quick, and it threw a fuel pressure regulator code. I stopped in the gas station on the way home and filled it up, and the CEL was gone and hasn't been on since. I'm thinking HPFP, but maybe not? Could it be injectors?
On a recent trip to the service dept, I mentioned that the steering wheel makes a loud clicking noise anytime it's turned, the service guy said "it's normal and supposed to do that it's a spring"... Really? I find it hard to believe that Hyundai would make us listen to this annoying sound all the time.
