Having trouble filling car up with gas? Here for the past 2 months its been gradually getting worse. I try to fill the tank full of gas and the nozzle keeps clicking acting like its full. At first it would only click once during the fill up. Now its 5 or 6 times during the fill up.
View 21 RepliesHave issues filling the santa fe? when I start filling, if i press the nozzle fully, it keeps clicking off on me. Even if I try to half press it, it still clicks off periodically. It's a real PITA, especially in the winter. 2013 Sport.
View 12 RepliesI was filling up my tank, as I was running in fumes a few days ago (just 14 miles before death as per trip computer) and to my surprise, when I filled my tank, it only went roughly up to 16 gallons (15.9xx to be precise) before the nozzle kept shutting off. Was the nozzle defective (or was I in a rush for not waiting until the vapors leave the tank?) or the 18.5 gallon tank has a ~2.5 gallon reserve that even the instrument gauge doesn't account for, as it was all the way in the E with the yellow gas pump icon on?
View 12 RepliesI am having trouble filling up my car it keeps stopping every 5-10 secs knowing my car is not full. Whats going on? Also my my gas needle keeps saying im at 3/4 full all the time when i pump gas it goes to full, but never goes to half tank it just stays at 3/4.
View 10 RepliesWhen filling up with gas, I can only get a couple gallons put in the tank before the nozzle kicks off from the pump. As I get closer to filling up the tank it kicks off more frequently. The way I equalize the gas tank while filling up so that I can add more gas is to move the gasoline nozzle in and out a couple times and i can see a little bit of gas squirt out while the pressure inside is adjusting.
I don't think anyone was able to put something into my tank to plug it up. There is a little hole directly under where the gas cap screws onto that has a rubber opening, I'm wondering if maybe some dirt got into that and plugged it assuming that hole has something to do with making sure the pressure equalizes, but I don't know.
When I fuel up at fuel throttle the nozzle pops every time at every direction i give the nozzle. I can get it to fill at half speed but sometimes fuel is coming out of the breather tube and circulating back into the filler neck. I took the right rear fender liner out and checked for pinched lines but everything seemed ok.

View 2 RepliesThis just gets stranger by the month. I could have sworn when I first got this 2011 Sonata that the console read 341 after filling it up for the first time. I thought it had said that after I filled it the second time (just after Hurricane Sandy - yes, before the long lines - I was lucky) and it read 329. On those occasions the console had read approx 67 & 69 miles to empty. I know I filled it with 87 the second time around. The first time may have been with 89. And when it stopped at 14.x I thought to myself, hmm, didn't it fill to 15.x the first time? Weird. So I went on with my life.
This past weekend it read 50 miles to empty and so I filled it again with 87 (same gas station I should point out). And just like the last time, before this time, it filled with 14.1xx and read 288 miles to empty. It just seems to me that "Miles to Empty" has slowly gone down. On the third filling I believe it may have read 303 to empty.
Is it me? I am imagining things here. Could have that much sludge/dirt/whatever it my tank because of the gas station I visited or the 87 and not 89 that I have been putting in? Oil and filter were changed in mid October and then again in mid March. Thats about to happen again on the 28th but also to have the required NYS Inspection done. What should I say to them if anything? Could I have picked that crappy of a local area gas station?
When I fill my 2002 VW cabrio, the fuel nozzle keeps clicking off. I took it to the service department at the dealership and the service manager told me that there is no vent tube to clean out, no carbon filter and the sensor for the ORVR is at the inside bottom of the tank and the only POSSIBLE solution would be to replace the gas tank. This doesn't feel right given the other discussions on this board. Could the dealership be misleading me?
View 10 RepliesI purchased a 2011 Sonata Limited Edition TODAY. It was a lucky find as the car has less than 30k miles. As I was driving home (back roads and interstate), I heard a clicking noise every time I hit the brakes. I do not hear this noise when I back up and brake, only when the car is in drive and I am braking.
View 3 RepliesI normally drive with my arm (elbow) on the armrest and my hand resting on the gearshift. I have an automatic 2013 SE and for a while I didn't think much of it but sometimes it just concerns me because it's almost everyday now that I notice it... bu there is some kind of clicking sound a I can feel it through the gearshift. It sounds like it's coming from under it or somewhere behind the dashboard (like behind the radio console). I hear it every 3 seconds or so.. it's very subtle so I mostly hear when at a red light... it kind of sounds like something stretching or expansion, sort of like the sound wheels (or the exhaust.. not sure which makes that sound) make after you stop driving. The car seems to be running fine and I have no other issues with it. This is more of an annoyance so far but I just want to make sure this won't turn into a bigger issue.
View 8 RepliesMy gf just bought a 2011 sonata limited and so far we love it (only 2 days old but you know). So yesterday I was pulling out of the driveway and had to cut the wheel all the way right to clear my neighbors truck and the curb. Just as i got moving forward I heard and felt 2 loud clicks which sounded like a bad axle but just deeper.
I hope nothing broke already, drove for 10 miles perfectly fine with no pulling or anymore clicking. Then I got onto the highway and felt a pretty significant vibration coming through the dead pedal but only above 70-75 mph. It happens all the time now (at that speed) and I will be taking it to the dealer but I like to research before I go so I can prepare for their onslaught of BS.
When I hit bumps, yank to the left, or go above a certain speed my steering wheel will start shaking and a loud clicking noise happens.

View 6 RepliesI am getting a click from the steering when rocking the wheel left or right. It is coming from the assembly the intermediate shaft is connected to. I see there is a large bearing on the end where the shaft comes out. I am not sure what this assembly is called. I have had it at the dealer and they said they re-torqued everything but they could not duplicate it.
I do not fall in the range for the recall and I have no problem with the car pulling left so I do not think it has anything to do with the intermediate shaft. It is clearly from the assembly the intermediate shaft is connected to on the steering wheel end of the intermediate shaft. 2011 limited
OK, I recently noticed a fairly loud clicking noise coming from the transmission (or the gear lever?) when you hit the brakes and again when you release them (only when at or near standstill). I'm pretty sure that it's the lock for the transmission so you can't start it without hitting the brake, etc., but I never heard it before. Should it be that loud? At first I thought it was my CD's in the console hitting the side when I was braking, but realized it does it when standing still and you can feel it in the shift lever. Maybe I'm overly paranoid, but I've never noticed this in any other car.

View 28 RepliesRight this clicking noise is really annoying me now, every time AFTER i brake i hear this click, the faster i stop the louder the click is, also when I am in neutral and suddenly rev its clicks sometimes but rarely, I am thinking it could be a loose exhaust somewhere? Its definitely coming from under my foot area. When I brake cornering it clicks too. Checked my control arms and everything, that's not rattling at all? Need to get rid of this click sound!!

The push start wouldn't work this morning, the car will make the annoying clicking sound, the dashboard is lit up but bunch of icons are active, the brake is very hard.
I saw few people had same issue and they said it could be either 1) dead batter 2) starter kit issuue.
My car is parked on basement garage, not sure how it can be towed. I wish a simple jump start would fix it and maybe I can bring it to nearby shop for checkup.
