My Tig starts to make squeaking rattle noises while driving. It sounds coming from the steering wheel or that somewhere in that area and the noise is like rubbing plastic parts. It happens when the car comes across even small cracks on the road. So it is rattling all the time. It's really annoying. I think it is plastic parts that are lose making the noises.
View 3 RepliesA rattle has developed coming from the headliner behind the sunroof, I hear it when driving over rough roads. It seems most noticeable on the passenger side. I can replicate it if I thump on the headliner in the backseat behind the sunroof. I can make it stop if I push up against the headliner when sitting in the back seat. And I am pretty sure its not coming from the sunroof which has its own set of noises.
View 3 RepliesOur 2012 SE has an intermittent rattle somewhere in the rear of the Tiguan when riding on even moderately rough pavement. Ultimately I'll have to crawl around back there while my wife drives up and down a rough road to locate the rattle, I guess, What was the source of the rattle.
View 16 RepliesSo we've recently surpassed 11,000 miles on our 2010 Wolfsburg. Overall we really love the Tiguan and aside from a few minor issues, it's been trouble free.
Over the past month I've been putting a lot of miles in doing some out of state travel and have been on some roads that lets say, have been less than smooth ... lots of potholes (filled and not), old pavement, etc and I'm starting to get, or maybe just notice some squeaks and rattles.
Most of them seem to be coming from trim points ... at least thats how it sounds, but the one that is really annoying me the most is the drivers side sun visor. Even when locked into position there's a little bit of play in the visor and it's a really annoying squeak.
Engine/transmission metal rattle noise. I have a SEL w/auto and I hear a metal rattle noise under light acceleration when it shifts from 6th to 5th, 5th to 4th and usually between 1500 to 2000 RPM. I took it into vw to check and a couple guys drove it and said everything is in normal operating condition. It only has 1700 miles and it has made the noise since I picked it up. I had a GTI before this so I am familiar with the engine but I had a manual.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2009 Tiguan 2.0t 4 motion and recently has started having a very high pitched squealing noise coming from either the accessory belt area or the timing chain. The noise is constant until you are under acceleration and then it goes away. The CEL came on but when scanned it said no codes. and now sometimes the CEL will flash and the car has been idling rough. What it may be?
View 3 RepliesOur car has been throwing a low boost code. We replaced the dv valve, pcv was just replaced but code still comes up. It's been making this noise that has arised with the code. It will do it down hill from 1500 to 2400. Just a constant rattle.
What do we do from here? Fix rod? New wastegate? New turbo?

i dont know if i can i bring this to VW but the back right wheel squeaks when driving sometimes. Like when i start and just roll forward it has a squeak and sometimes when i break it squeaks. It makes me feel poor hearing it.
View 3 RepliesJust bought my R32 less than a week ago and suddenly today while driving slowly through my neighborhood I started hearing a squeaking noise like metal to metal. Once the wheel started to spin even a little bit the noise started. It sounded like the disc or wheel or something was moving against another part and it was really loud. I took the wheel out inspected all the parts(I am not a mechanic) and put the wheel back on and the sound went away. What could it be?
View 4 Replies2001 Ford Focus ZTS manual. Squeaking/scraping is the best that I can describe it, happens sometimes while driving maybe 20 mph. Also makes a rapid clicking noise when starting from a stop, groaning noise with engine on/off while turning wheel from same area. I did pads/rotors last year. I had play in the wheel, axle nut was loose, tightened and went away. I can't find any problems. It can make some noises under heavy braking and it was making noise from moderate braking, I'm guessing that's my cheap rotors.

there is a LOUD squeaking noise coming from my drivers side wheel when driving. When I press the brakes then the noise goes away. I took the wheel off to duplicate the noise by turning the rotors but I couldn't. maybe I couldn't turn it fast enough though. Its not the brake/rotor shield either.
At first it was a slight squeak but now its getting really loud. embarrassing loud. Could the possible issues be calipers, brake shims, cv, axle?
About a week ago I went over a dip in the road at about the speed limit and didn't realize how bad it was. Since then my rear end has been making a creaking/squeeking noise while driving or pushing on the car side to side. The struts seem to be ok, there is no bounce in the car. What this could be? I was thinking some sort of bushing somewhere?
View 16 RepliesI may have read this on here a time or two before but just noticed our Tig doing it now...with only 816 miles on it!?!? it IS a truly an unnerving, shrill, sound...this will get old and fast! I'd hate to think i need to change the brake pads already, one thing for sure i WILL make mention of this when it goes in for the 90 day "inspection".
View 6 RepliesOk so I have a 09 tiguan S that stalled yesterday while driving only a few short min. My wife had been driving home about 4 miles when she got home I could hear a faint squealing noise as she pulled up. I left right after and assumed it was the the ac belts it that exist, so to verify that I turned off the ac and the sound did fade. I drove with it off for a few min then turned it on again the car acted normal and cooled just fine then about 5 min later I pulled into a lot and while waiting for others to move the engine stalled and I had the engine light, epc and battery lights showing. Now it was something like 110 outside and I thought overheated but the temp gauge showed normal and I received no warnings. I smelled a burned rubber smell and I recall seeing a small puff of smoke. I could not locate anything that could have burned out. The only thing I could see that was unusual was what looked like buildup on the air intake tubes.
View 5 RepliesI have an RX 450H and noticed that there is a squeaking sound coming from the dashboard. I looked at other posts where people were experiencing similar issues and noticed one post where someone had a GS 450H and fixed this issue by adding felt between the dashboard and the windscreen.
I would like to know whether this method works 100% and whether I can apply this method to the RX 450H. The noise becomes worse when it is cold and especially when the car is being driven over rough road surfaces and speed bumps.
I just picked up a 2013 SEL CPO, I noticed after I took the car home the brakes starting squeaking, I took it back and the Service Advisor told me this was a known issue and the only thing they could do is so put some crap I don't know what he said but he said it was but it would wear off and start squeaking again...
View 7 RepliesSo we put on almost 1500 miles on our 2010 Tiguan, on our trip from Charlotte, NC to NYC and back. During our stay in NYC, I started noticing a squeaky sound coming from the front when going over any bumps. It's only noticeable when it's cold, but it goes away when temps are warmer. It sounds to me like the strut mounts need to be replaced.

Recently I've noticed that when I'm in park, or driving slowly next to other cars, I can hear an intermittent rattle/chatter, sort of sounds like leaves or crinkling plastic. Also sort of sounds like clutch chatter. The noise is coming from an area near the front-passenger wheel well, sort of near the alternator.

IS350 fsport. I have had the car for two weeks already and these sounds are driving me crazy. Its definitely coming from the center console area, I can even move it a bit and its makes the squeak sound. On bumps something like a little plastic pebble feels like it rattles. I went to lexus and they couldn't really do anything about it. They said its normal when two plastics come together to squeak.
View 14 RepliesAbout a week ago I noticed a strange squeaking with a hint of rattle, almost like a belt slipping. The sound seems like its coming from in between my front wheels. I only notice it after I take my foot off the brake pedal after coming to a complete stop or near completely stopped, i.e. stop and go traffic. Seems loudest when I accelerate from a complete stop and tends to go away after I start moving.
